What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

The worms post is no good without a song. @lindisfel - I'd check that delivery if it came from Amazon. Had you down as a really savvy guy. :D
I remember Helen singing the worms song at school.
I believe she also did a fair imitation of Kate Bush from what I heard but we never saw her do it or mention it.
She also played Annie's Song on her violin which brought tears to ones eyes.

Just had to dash on here before the dog walk. 5.3 this morning. Am doing a happy dance.

Of course I know that I am not fully back to normal but am taking this as a sign that my liver and pancreas are improving and that I will be back into the normal for me 5s every morning - hopefully in the next couple of months.

It took one month of higher carbs to damage my liver and pancreas and two and a half months to bring the levels back closer to what they were before going off the rails

I must admit that I thought that I had done irreparable damage and am so pleased that it is repairing.

Good morning everyone from a wet and dreary start here in French Froggy France and it looks as though it’s in for the day - wish we had brought our wellies then we could have jumped in muddy puddles. Still, we have water proofs and the use of brollies if we get stir crazy. Internet (so called wiffy) is not that hot so tricky keeping up with stuff. Never mind. Art bit - a doodle made on the train from Bordeaux. Hope you have a splendid day, whatever day you are living in. I shall raid my dad’s supply of koffy.

Looks like another day of sunshine and showers in Cumbria very chilly yesterday with snow in the mountains but apparently Spring will be back next week.

I am hoping I can get over these back pains when I stand and walk for more than 20 mins because this garden will get out of hand. I still have to wait until my pacemaker wound heals.

I have started to push the cart round Lidl for Marjorie but diabetes plays me up with rapid rises and falls post prandial in bp and blood glucose so much so that it sends me to sleep after lunch each day.

I would be fine if I did not have to eat and low carb doesn't help me much.

11.2 this morning at 4.30. Still the same at 6.30 and at 8.30. It was all going so well a couple of weeks ago. Then I cut back on my basal insulin (which is what the diabetes nurse wanted me to do because she thought my BG was under too tight control) and now, even back on the pre change dose, BG won't come down to a reasonable (to me) level. I sometimes imagine that diabetes has an intelligence all its own and wants to control me. Shan't give in.

Definitely don't give in @Annb. It took me a while to come off insulin in 2016/17. It went brilliantly for a while and then it didn't work so I had to go back on both basal and fast acting insulin.

It was a real roller coaster ride - on insulin and off insulin. There was no rhyme or reason to it.

Eventually in mid 2017 (if I am remembering correctly) I came off insulin completely and stayed that way until I went completely off the rails. Luckily it looks like it is improving now.

Morning all from a grey but dry start here where we await the threatened thunderstorms. The dogs and I await Stan, Stan the grocery man since JKP and MIL are having their usual Seniors slumber party*. I've taken them each tea and confirmed they are alive. Hugs for @lindisfel and @Annb. Happy dance time for @Krystyna23040 our exceptionally normal for Norfolk Duracel Bunny :woot: :woot: for McGarrett day. No grandchildren today which is both boon and blessing. I can't pretend the Little Guy ™ and yours truly aren't especially close, probably more so since I know what I can't unknow. Indian Railway curry proved too much for JKP so some will disappear into a freezer. Bookmakers have closed the book on there being any likelihood of that ever being eaten. I freeze things I have liked mainly for the appearance of parsimony but Heraclitus was spot on. Immunotherapy day yesterday - birthday cake baked by nurse for another regular but I politely declined. Fastest route now open but for all the road closure I can't say there was much improvement bar no dip deep enough for a bus to be stuck for days. SSSF here so one assured point of pleasure. Enjoy your day.
*Stan squared and JKP appeared simultaneously at about line 5. She is now scanning and coding everything so I can finish, post and have another bucket of tea.

Hug for the impatient waiting for recovery....I felt that pain too clearly..

And ouch for the unbalancing the highs & lows involve.

No simple panacea for many things, sadly.

All we can do is but our best.
And grit our teeth and just get on with things, as you so eloquently demo.

I hope the recovery moves at a more acceptable pace.

I reckon you could eat those worms?

Quick kill them in hot water, dry them after washing and mince them and press them into a burger and lightly fry them in olive oil

I should think they would be as good for one as prime steak fillet.
And very low carb!;)
Hold up Derek....

Let's not give the govt ideas of how to feed the population who struggle to afford good quality food due to their utter mismanagement of everything.

Though I do concede they most likely have included your idea, hence why sewage Britain is being ramped up.

A perfect breeding ground for our brave new world order & reducing the nations need for so many foodbanks.

"Want salt & vinegar on your Battered worms & fries, mate....there ya go, meal fit for a winner, £3.50 to you..enjoy..NEXT "

Hope the day went well.

And budgets being used up ?

Funny how the time & effort of 'professionals' never sees much improvement or durability

The road in question meanders in and out of Suffolk and Cambs. There does seem to be a correlation between quality of road surface and local authority. No guesses for which I am convinced are best custodians of roads.

Thank you @ianpspurs . It is good to know that I am Normal for Norfolk

Morning

A mixed day weatherwise here.

Rain then sunshine, rinse & repeat throughout day.

Another few days basking in the excellent micro climate on McGarrett plains, as I got another day pass at only $5.6....wot a bargain .

Gym last night went well, again.

Not done any floorwork as the performance of getting up & down is decidedly ungainly & clumsy .

But cajoled by my trainer, I gave the group bridge exercises a go.

I do those on the bed most mornings, but wanting to show willing in class, (and the point made I have to start moving out of my comfort zone re knee pain, spurred me on )

I manage to complete the reps
However the overturned turtle performance didn't go unnoticed.

Unlikely I'll be attempting that again for a little while :(

Enjoy the day, y'all.

From my post previously, a little regression.

Been noted I'm a little (lot) more
bristly in my responses.

I noticed it myself, but can't quite put a finger on why, but I do have a working theory.

Perhaps the improvement physically has let me look back at the year or two with some suppressed anger more easily released ?

The viewpoint I thought would change & shift the focus from the time line being the .....

Second (impact)
Minute (a blank after impact )
Minutes (before assistance )
Hour (at site being stabilised)
Day, weeks & month.(in hospital)
Months, year/s (recovering)

if anything that time frame focus has hardened and made me resentful.

Maybe I'm just ( or have been ? ) unconsciously internalising it & only now feel able to leech it out, albeit in an unpalatable way to those unfortunate to be around me & entirely undeserving of it...?

Mmhh.

Hope you can get some relief from those back pains. Back pain can be so debilitating and limiting, especially when you are trying to get fitter. Our garden is now a wilderness. All that Neil has managed to do in the last couple of years is cut paths through the grass and lop bits off of trees. The rest is doing its own thing.
