What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.7

I met my friend in England yesterday.
She was telling me the saga of her husbands meds. A similar saga to mine as regards the ordering software refusing to let them have some meds. He has been without his Tramadol for a month now, because the ordering software decided it was a few days too soon. But when she tried to order at the 'correct' time, the ordering software said it had to be ordered at the same time as the rest of his meds...so hence nearly 4weeks without the Tramadol...

I told her about the petrol garage saga of a couple of days ago, where the cashier wouldn't set my petrol pump to zero. And spent a long time arguing with me, and to put the pump in the car and press the lever despite the previous amount still being on display, and even came to the pump to tell me to do that and it would reset to zero. Why didn't he take the pump and show you that, my friend asked. He declined to, when I asked him, I told my friend, he wouldn't even touch that pump handle and lever. He was up to something my friend said. Look at you, bent double (I am bent over, but not bent double!)and on two crutches, he should have at least offered to fill your tank for you. And my friend said that whatever petrol pump she uses, it's always been reset to zero before she even gets to it and before she takes the pump out of the holder...

I put it through that app again, to create that effect. And I like it!

Was freezing in the night, but the sun is out now.
So a cuppa and a quick nap before I start my day. I couldn't sleep last night because of Fibromyalgia pain which drove me up the wall. Midnight never left my side all night, but has just gone to find a sunny spot in the garden on the swing shelf...
I am not wasting this sunshine by catching up on sleeping.
Power Nap....

Have your best day...

Interesting effect - probably not the words that the lighthouse keeper would have used.

Morning all from a sunny but breezy, hence far too many layers, LA. Thanks for the birthday wishes on behalf of JKP, so kind of you all. Today she goes to physio in race horse central (flat racing no jumps there) and I go for a covid booster. @Annb hug for the pain which IMHO could be linked to Move More due to referred pain. @Krystyna23040 would be more helpful. Although she is a busy lady (should defo sack her diary secretary) I know how gracious she is with her time. @gennepher hug for the Fybromyalgia pain and thanks for sharing the creative and video. Enjoy your day because sometimes those days furthest from anything you ever imagined could possibly work somehow do - which is kind of a very pithy Easter sermon. Of course, sometimes your worst fears are realised and then some but let's not dwell on 2016. I prefer to think back on how yesterday worked despite being so far from anything I would have wanted.

Good morning everyone from a slightly lower pile of centigrades available here in the dark and dangerous north. 8 hours yesterday from jumping (yeh right) out of bed at our hotel to parking on our drive. It would have been quicker if airports just worked instead of having you hurrying about and waiting. Arrive, get passport checked and jump on the plane. Seemed to work really well in the 1970’s. Oh, and if those fancy passport scanner things actually worked more than just every now and then, that would be good. Note to self; do get even more luggage now that airlines have shrunk the required dimensions again. Then we can play Russian dolls with them. Back at the ranch. Washing is hanging on the line patiently waiting for some replacement centigrades and both bin lorries have been (it’s a double dip Brucie bonus today). Art bit, another doodle while rushing about in the airport yesterday. More koffy vicar? Don’t mind if I do.

"You could be right. Certainly the pain level has increased dramatically in the past few weeks - actually ever since I started on the "Move More" classes run by our local council. Don't know if it has anything to do with that but I don't think so, the worst of the pain isn't in the bits that have been exercised. It's a measure of the increase that I've found myself praying for strength to bear it - never did that before.. No point praying for it to go away - the damage was done years ago. BG this morning was 10.9. Had to change the sensor, so no further news on that front. I could use the fingerprick but haven't bothered. 10.9 Libre reading would be about 12 on the fingerprick test."

Your post added into the previous post. So, I copied and pasted like this because it wouldn't let me reply to your post...

This is only my view as a layperson and from my experience @Annb
So, take no notice of me.
But something is causing your increase in pain. And you have spoken about it since you have been doing the "Move More" exercises.
Just maybe, they might not be the right kind of exercises for you.
You should not have to pray for strength to bear the exercises.
They should be gentle enough for you to build up everything more slowly.
Yes, sometimes you have to push through a little, but I don't think it should be as much as you appear to be pushing through these exercises.
I think you said it was via Zoom?
But is there any personal feedback?
I think you need to reassess this a wee bit.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman. Happy national bin day.

Blood sugars this morning were 4.9, calculations are now required to establish my insulin dosage. Give me quantum mechanics any time, far simpler than the vagaries of diabetes with its infinite number of unknowns.

This morning here in Tilehurst Towers the morning is spoken for, but the afternoon after our obligatory nap could be a problematic, watch any old space.

@gennepher an interest painting today.

Now stay safe all and enjoy the fact that we woke up, stretched out our arms and didn’t touch wood.
Thanks Alf!

Very wise words @gennepher

It is wonderful news. I am not expecting that it will be plain sailing from now on and I am sure that there will be some fluctuations. However, I am much more optimistic now than I have been since Christmas.
Is Holkham cancelled this year then or just not straying far (if at all) from the LC reservation?

Holkham definitely not cancelled this summer as we are staying there in August. All I have to do is to avoid their desserts. The Victoria are good at adjusting the meals so that they are LC. I will take my favourite Montazuma's mini peanut butter 100% dark chocolate mini eggs and my other favourite Montazuma chocolates instead of dessert. Of course I will have lots of coffee and cream.

We are staying their with the family for Christmas 2024. I will not be LC then but have learnt my lesson and will be LC as soon as I get back home and not continue with the carb fest for several more weeks as I did this year.

We are but frail flesh! ;)

You missing out Christmas 2023 due to scheduling error by diary secretary? Everything in that post was wonderful apart from the M word. Wash your mouth out young lady :D Peanut butter is - allegedly and probably for one day only - microbiome (gee you tea seems too rude) friendly and boosts my cals in. Just finished a kg tub which is not something I ever dreamed of. Also eating more cheddar cheese which I'm sceptical about having any benefits except cals in compared to some other foods - just to be fair; and.

Had a quick trip to the very North West of the County this am to see if Scotland was still there across the firth in Burns Country and the demise of another fish politician hasn't marked the lighting of signal fires or 'Useless' marching on Dumfries.

Since I was down there last the Willow Warblers have poured in from Africa, South of the Sahara and filled the countryside with their song of Spring.
