What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

My goodness. No pressure then. This could escalate into a brand new business and involve the designing of tins to sell to tourists coming off cruise ships.

Good morning everyone on what is promised to be an overcast day here in the dark and dangerous north. Gutters all cleaned - I am responsible for the foot on the bottom rung and holding up the bucket to catch the debris. We live in a bungalow so we only need a FIFA approved adjustable Sepp Blatter. Art bit - detailing added, didn’t take too long. Hope your mid week is as good as it can be. I need koffy.

Looks a bit less like a rocket now, but still trying to reach the sky, which was the idea of church towers in the first place.

This morning, there were two magpies in my garden very early. Mr Magpie came in first then left. And a short while later Mr Magpie came in with a smaller magpie which I'm currently assuming is Mrs Magpie. Unless it was a young magpie that Mr Magpie is showing all the food sources too. But I couldn't really tell.

There were peanuts out on the bird table which is what they both eat. Neither of them tackled the swing because Midnight was on guard with the cat biscuits...

It is only 6:00 a.m. as I am writing this. And I have not put wet food out by the swing yet because those stray cats don't usually turn up till about 9:00 a.m. so no wet food for the magpies. However an hour ago I did put wet food by the kitchen door which usually Amy and Merlin come for, so I am hoping the magpies have not discovered that food source this morning. I will know if they've taken Amy and Merlin's food because the tinfoil dishes will be strewn all over the place.

I moved over to tinfoil dishes because the fox was doing a number one and a number two in the cat dishes when I was feeding them, and it was impossible to clean and sterilise etc. It is for hygiene reasons and I put a fresh tinfoil dish out every day or dishes. Hopefully it reduces animals passing on infections to each other.

Just had a 30 minute Power Nap with a steam eye mask on. My eyes do get tired using these screens. But it wasn't a good dream because my car got stolen while I was rescuing some sweet little kittens..

I hope neither is an omen...although I do have an extra black 'stray ?' cat.

There should be plenty of luck with all these black cats!

It is now 8 am

It is taking me longer than I thought to finish video and do my morning digital painting.

Two magpies again. Just googled. The smaller one is a little 'un. It has a black beak. Obviously dad is training it how to source food (and other stuff) from humans. I fully expect the afternoon training session of the little 'un to be done at the open top windows (of the people out at work) over the road. Should be interesting.

Wildlife nighttime cameras
Cats & Fox & Badger

Black cat Midnight gets very cross with this badger, whom I call KissyKissy, because he keeps going for nose to nose contact with cat Midnight. Midnight keeps spitting and snarling at KissyKissy, then finally Midnight loses all patience and slams the badger, KissyKissy hard on the nose...

Creative is a digital painting
My raspberry bush flower. Will soon be eating these...

Sun has finally come out, so, all tablets etc downed and I am out there..

Have your best day.

It is now 8:30 am
I was awake at 4 am
I reckon it is lunch time for me ?

That is such brilliant advice @gennepher. I read your post yesterday and tried it out. It really does work and actually doesn't make the day longer.

Good job on those gutters @dunelm
I think the top bit on your spire has a bit of Buddliea growing. That needs tackling soon....

I have somehow managed to lose half a kilo but still feel fat. Not in the sense that I am huge but have a small roll of fat on my ribs which I never had before in my life as well as the fatty pad on my stomach. Am concerned that these indicate the internal fat deposits around organs that are so unhealthy. It's not weight as such that bothers me, but these little fat deposits. Without these fatty areas weight wouldn't matter.
Expecting to do some more heavy gardening again today. Maybe this is the secret to a healthier body?

Hi all,
Some Sun showing in Cumbria this am, those Pennines make a difference over the spread of the North's c.100 mile's in our postage stamp sized country.

I go taking the car shopping this am but the new regime of tablets is crippling but I want to help Marjorie.

Medicine is no science, they just fling drugs at one and one lives half a life for a few years.
Beta blockers just send me to sleep I must get fitter to get my BP managed without them.

Have your best day , true shalom to you all.

Good morning all from a sunny but cool L.A. Bg was 4.9 @5.59 and 5.00 @10.42 when I swiped pre-breakfast. @Annb I hope the baking and HbA1c both go well. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art and very sensible of you to use Sepp the Step (English football has a step system, step 1 is Premier league). @gennepher thanks for the creative and video. We planted 12 raspberry canes here this year which, along with 6 patio pot fruit trees and some rhubarb, give a vague hint of better days and locations. @Krystyna23040 good news that @gennepher's idea worked. @lindisfel take it easy with the recovery. God and Marjorie clearly have a need of your help so be a good disciple: pray, love, serve They also serve who listen to wise advice and take it easy. Go well people but if not evaluate your performance, do your drills and execute them under pressure. Tip of the day: Don't waft outside off, practice the leave.

Well, I have been well punctured in the attempt to get enough blood out of my veins for the requested blood test. When I arrived at the unit, the nurse greeted me with "Oh - it's you. It took 8 attempts to get a tiny dribble of blood last time, didn't it?" I am notorious both at the hospital and at our GP practice and nobody wants to try to do the job.

She tried, though - and failed, so after 3 attempts, she gave up and asked another nurse to try. He was very confident when he started, but soon realised why the other nurses there were unwilling to try. However, after several more attempts he found a vein that gave a little dribble of blood and had to make do with that. I am now decorated with little plasters covering all the bruised attempts.

I always feel so embarrassed by my inability to produce blood as required. I know there's nothing I can do about it (I do drink plenty, don't take diuretics or other blood pressure pills, keep my hands and arms warm but it doesn't really make a lot of difference) but I still feel sorry for people who are normally fairly good at their job who just can't do anything about my veins and feel embarrassed, so I spend my time apologising.

You second name is not Stone is it Ann?

My daughter has a similar problem. She was told she has "wiggly veins That are not easy to find "
Maybe you are the same ?

They've never been called wiggly. It seems, though, that they have a mind of their own. They see someone approaching with a needle and they shrink away into hiding. Actually, it seems as though they go off in a direction that medics don't expect, so maybe they are wiggly after all.

When nurses slip a needle in they have to twist and turn it to try to find the track of the vein. This results in quite a lot of bruising. It goes away after a while though, so no problem. It just takes so much time for them to do what on other patients, is a simple, 5 minute procedure. Took them 3/4 of an hour this morning and he had to go in at my wrist - a very tender spot - before he could get anything. He wouldn't have tried that if I hadn't pointed out to him that that is just where the last deoctor who took blood managed to find it. "Ooh no - not the wrist! That is so painful!" "It's not pleasant, right enough, but just do it!" I didn't exactly growl at him, but was quite firm with him. Wasn't all that bad anyway.
