Thanks Ian, had a read.@alf_Josiah this may help answer a question you raised https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/hot-weather.197239/
Hi @alf_JosiahGood early evening all.
I have noticed over quite a long time that temperature stress affects my blood sugars raising them in high temperatures and dropping them in cold conditions causing hypo’s.
Now am I alone or do others have the same issues?
I don't think it's the weather here, I think it's this cold exhausting me - all the coughing and sneezing is using a lot of energy. But Oxygen saturation is still 95%, so it's not all that bad.Hi @alf_Josiah
I don't keep a long time record, so I cannot answer for myself.
I found this
https://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-and-hot-weather.html
I cannot do anything in this hot weather, I sweat by the bucket load (feels like it is pouring off me like Niagara Falls), drink iced water by the litre (with electrolytes in), I am having really bad cramps in my legs (I have not had these for a long time), and I feel very tired, no energy etc. My blood sugars have been higher during the day today, hovering around 10.1 (disappointing).
Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday @ianpspursModern life is goodish. MIL and myself are currently watching No 2 son batting on the large lounge TV, via a live stream from the new Forest. Very pictureskew ground. So currently @gennepher quite a good day.
Definitely you cannot carry on like this for another 4 months @lindisfel. Actually you have done really well to stay on the second coagulant for 2 months.Been having trouble with my meds since H/A in April. The second anti coagulant is causing me serious stomach and bowel problems and I am feeling rough most of the day.
Will have to speak to the doctor, I can't manage this for the six months it's scheduled. Two months now is more than enough it's slowing down any progress.
D.
It has been really hot here @gennepher and my blood sugar has also been disappointingly high - even though I have done almost 14K steps. Which of course made me even hotter.Hi @alf_Josiah

I make ginger and turmeric tea but use fresh ingredients. Sits in the fridge and a litre lasts about a week.Oh dear, @Annb so sorry to hear that..hope it eases swiftly.
I found real ginger tea made a real difference to my breathing after my last asthma flare up
(A good few years ago, tbh)
So much so, it's my go-to whenever either of us get any type of cold or chest infection.
Well known to be effective on the airways .
Thank you. I have my Tilley hat.Morning all from a sunny L.A. where the weather girl says it will be scorchio - for which read no socks needed. .JKP still sub par but improving - well health wise st least. @dunelm safe journey and have a good time if the purpose of the journey fits. Thanks for the art. @Annb hug for the impact of the cold. @jjraak efcharistó for that post. God moves in mysterious ways. This story sequeys neatly from your experiences of God's grace into this - in my addled mind anyhow. The older couple remind me of one close to me (my parents actually) and the Joni Mitchell lyrics (attached) I quoted in my eulogy. for them. Since it is summer for the next few days one simply must bless one's aural orifices with sound nectar (club card is vaguely illegal according to the fake news meeeeja - how you 'doin in the heat Alf?). Be good, hydrate well, wear a wide brimmed hat and slip, slop, slap. seek, slide
Not added turmeric,....mmh.I make ginger and turmeric tea but use fresh ingredients. Sits in the fridge and a litre lasts about a week.
Lovely kaleidoscope. Too hot for my liking also.Fbg 6.8

My Indian friends gave me the tip to put in some black peppercorns, just slightly crushed as it helps to get the good stuff out of the turmeric and ginger roots. I put a splodge of ACV in with it when I have a drink of it.Not added turmeric,....mmh.
But agree with fresh .
A few slices, boiled up then simmered....lovely once poured.
I do sometimes add a slice of lemon & a dash of honey for Laurens.
You did your very best to help him @dunelm but very sad that he is still carrying on with his self destructive behaviour.Good morning everyone from the calm after the deluge here in the centre of the universe that is called Brum. Lunch out yesterday in the city centre, we delayed our arrival as son came across a heavily dressed and partly conscious bloke sleeping rough who was either drunk or drugged or both or neither - ambulance called who sorted him out and dressed a badly bruised and swollen ankle. Sad thing is we saw him later in the afternoon necking a bottle of cheep booze - sigh! Art bit - just a smidge of shade. Have your best day. I need some koffy.
