What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thinking about my s.i.l. in York today.
He has 12 miles to walk on postal round and it is approaching thirty degrees today.

Post men/women have to be quite fit, Abigail worries about him, I doubt he will do that in his sixties.

It's even hot in Cumbria today, I am waiting for the surgery to ring after contacting them at 0800.

@lindisfel hug for concern over SIL and hope for a useful callback over meds. @jjraak I'll see your summer breeze and raise you the ultimate summer of '76 chune Genn lyrics ('72 actually but takes time to become a classic) Dan Fogelberg, Ozark Miuntain Daredevils and this (instrumental) get honourable mentions.

Great news about JKP.

well on the road back.

Nephews a postie .

Love the warm weather, but even he's moaning it is starting to get a little too hot .

Doubt it's doable in the forecast heats at 60+ for most

Bearing in mind it is not all country lanes & two up two downs in beautiful Mordor .

Hugs for some cool breezes your SiL way.

Smidge of shade is perfect!
Your son tried his best @dunelm
My middle daughter did the same, in similar circumstances...she refused to leave the guy...

A bit late to the party today.
I had a hell of night due to the heat.
Temperature in bedroom was 26°C in the night.
I had fans, frozen bottles water, the lot.
The pain in my left leg flared up like never before.
I am kicking the duvet like something demented.
Painkillers etc. Creams etc.
An hour later I had kicked the pain out of my leg, or the painkillers were working. I checked everything - blood sugars, temperature, oximeter etc etc, but everything was pretty much normal, pulse was a little high but I think it would be after 60 one minute rounds with the duvet...

It was a good job there was not a wall next to my bed...

I am fine today apart from it being too hot. Left leg is fine. It is not being one bit of bother.

Had some messages to do, and no time to catch up on YouTube wildlife vids or kaleidoscope to post.

Just had a nap, playing catch up now.

Wildlife nighttime cameras.
Cats Fox & Badger - a busy night...
Midnight watches the fox while ginger cat Merlin tiptoes past...

Creative is a kaleidoscope in Laboscope App, of a white scented rose I have. It made this circle of pretty cup like shapes...

Have your best day.

Thoughts with those taking exams in this heat, especially those who suffer badly with hay fever.
Agree there. It is so miserable taking exams in the kind of heat students are suffering.
JKP was up and eating a little food yesterday so good news there. Enjoy or manage your day the best you can.
Glad JKP is beginning to get a bit better. It seems to have taken a long time.

My cold is the same as yesterday, but I don't feel so ill with it, so things are looking up.

Those daft starlings are still sitting on the handrail waiting for the hole into the overhang to open magically. Yesreday there were quite a few of them sitting there, in the heavy rain, just looking at the ventilator cover - the occasional one would fly up and cling on to the roughcast to inspect the "hole" more closely before returning to the handrail. They are really making me feel mean for turning thme out.

Hug is for the dreadful night. I hope tonight is considerably better. The kaleidoscope is sublime - green and white classical cricket and cucumber sandwich colours

That's an awful lot of walking in that kind of heat. Especially if he is carrying a load.

Alistair was in earlier. His is a country route, so he is driving but is still feeling the heat - it is actually warm here today - weather app says 19C. For us that is very warm. Nothing like what the poor posties south of here have of course but Alistair reckons he won't be able to keep going for the next 13 years until retirement - too many aches and pains already.

I'm glad you don't feel so ill. Thanks for the good wishes for JKP. Of course it has taken a long time since not only was the bug nasty but the crazy week before was always going to be too much for her especially with no common sense involved in the planning.

Winner for the creative but hug for the bad night. .

No FBG today just forgot until 10am by which time had had two coffees. Forgot or neglected my usual morning exercises as well.
After a somewhat heated discussion MrSlim has agreed that something has to be done about the frequent dreadful smell in the downstairs shower room. Of course when I went to ask him about it - the smell disappeared. Now he has admitted it probably involves taking the whole shower out...tiles, shower tray, screen, the lot. No wonder he has been reluctant to tackle this neccessary task. But I am determined not to live with it another year.
I made the point that as a woman - bad smells are generally assumed to be a failure in housekeeping standards. That air fresheners are not enough. That it embarrasses me. Perhaps now he understands better why this same issue comes up again and again.

It doesn't help that I cannot wholeheartedly admire his latest project. To me he has made it over complicated. A definite case of less would be more. in my opinion..

Great news that JKP was up and eating a little food yesterday.

Teaching in that environment must have been a total nightmare.

Good that your leg is now OK @gennepher
