What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Technology is definitely conspiring against us @gennepher . Was trying to revise clients lesson plans in word in Office 365 when word started responding really slowly and freezing.

Luckily a company looks after our PCs and an engineer is at this moment trying to sort remotely

Morning all, how you 'doin? Another Take it Easy day here in L.A. with the bonuses of Ashes cricket (I think the Aussies will win big), super salmon salad and a range of goodies from these people. Keto Blueberry muffin with my 11.00 am coffee and the first ball of an Ashes series sounds like living the dream though the parcel may not arrive as the delivery window is 10.30 to 14.30. First though, mega bloods so plenty of lemon Darjeeling - huge lemons (organic, unwaxed, pipless, compostable net) on flash sale yesterday. @gennepher bless you for sharing another superb kaleidoscope and enjoy whatever rabbit hole you find. How is/was the major news story that the proven flaws of an egregiously untrustworthy manchild had been proved more important than the tragedy in the Med or the dignity shown by the parents and friends of those tragically murdered youngsters in Nottingham? Enjoy your day and remember the 5 esses.

Wall to wall blue and temp 23degC at 0900.
It will be another dry day again.
With the River Derwent running down Borrowdale into Bass Lake via Derwentwater going dry now there must be much environmental damage and rain is over due and a lot of rain is needed.

We have had this obsession since the last war of getting water off land as quick as possible resulting long term damage to the hydrology of the planet. I have seen the progressive drainage of wetlands since my youth, we need more beavers to terraform the habitat to hold water.

Many years ago, I've been a member for over ten years I think, but the problem in the 'old days' was you couldn't send a link to a non Instagram member, and so I gravitated to You Tube because of that inconvenience. I have not tried again since...
But with social media and sharing being important, at some time it must've changed!
 
Ahh...

I've been on insta for a good while, really to post so family can see holiday pics....(do not do or trust FB )

But somehow, lauren & mine became combined...

So mine is now full of yoga-worthys, celebs aka LaM's* and the must have latest fashion....
(no more blokey links or motorbikes. )

So I rarely use it now.

Hasn't considered others might not be able to see it due to that stated limitation.

Good to know non users can see linked items with no hassle .

*For god's sake ...,LOOK at ME !!!

But fergal Sharkey. (yes THAT fergal Sharkey) is a vociferous campaigner against the water industry.

From what he posts I doubt this govt or the companies care about the impact on the wildlife, the environment or the local people of the UK

Both parties FAR too obsessed chasing & guarding their ill gotten loot.

Something extremely rotten in this kingdom of the UK.

I hope someone listens to people like yourself.....

Sadly I think we'll all be dust before we reach that moment.

Pray for the generations to come.

I preferred cricket played down south on an English Village Green with the ubiquitous oak tree for shade, and sandwiches and orange juice (I was about 9 years old, I did not drink tea). It was Meopham Village Green, and I am sure I recall a derelict windmill which they wanted to do up.

I did not like cricket played in Calverton, Notts where I lived at one time) by the miners, which was a more rowdy affair, and didn't looked sedate and relaxed and gentlemanly at all to me.

And that is my tuppence worth on the matter of I cricket.


Now going back down my rabbit hole which has more twists and turns and mysteries, shifts and illusions than Alice's rabbit hole...
 
John Campbell is concerned that we may need to equip ourselves with iodine tablets if there is a large leak of radioactive iodine 131 from Ukraine's nuclear power stations.
It too late getting them when one has been exposed. It's the young I would be concerned about.

Last time they only became aware of the fall out from Chernobyl when all the alarms went off at Sellafield Nuclear plant in Cumbria.Then the sheep on the Fells were contaminated with radioactive Cesium 137.

Think I played at Meopham when I played for Westerham (Kent). Initially we played the villages. One especially pretty place was Chiddingstone Causeway. The club moved into leagues and things became very serious. In the league we played more in South London on Old Boys or Bank grounds - not nearly as picturesque. I think you would find the Cambridge college grounds where I learned my craft to your liking. The cricket club here play at a very high standard but the location is gorgeous

Late getting up, out to coffee with neighbours. Sadly found sparrow fledgling on doorstep when I got home, but it died while I was still trying to figure out how the ladders go together ( they dont- different sets) something has eaten a hoglet as well, just the prickles left in the middle of the garden. Anyone have any idea. Obviously not Kiki this time.
She did catch some kind of large beetle, but was successfully distracted with a grass stem.
Edited to add only four attempts needed to post this. No idea why it wasn't working.
 
Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those whose life is fuelled by the media’s negativity. Now how’s that for inclusivity.

Bloody sugars this morning were 5.5

I finally staggered downstairs this morning at about 10:15 ish and am drinking my first koffy of the day. My tasks for today consist mainly of clearing up before Mrs J’s return from her sojourn in Weymouth, Mrs J went on Monday and is returning today late afternoon I shall greet her with the eternal question “ What’s for dinner ? “

Now it’s time for 10:30 morning tea, my koffy is all gone and the disaster area known as the kitchen calls.

Stay safe, stay cool and remember a smile costs very little and gives so much, then stick your tongue out, blow a raspberry and run.

10:30 cup of tea, the tea is the constant the time is the variable.

16.06 7.45am FBG 6.2 mindful of need for hydration had lemon tea and glass of water.
Continued taking at half hour intervals until 9.20 it was down to 5.7. At last! Time for coffee.
Unexpected visit from French teacher - (thought we had cancelled lesson) both of us out in the garden in working clothes! She thinks MrSlim is crazy to work during the hot part of the day. Some agreement from me too, but am equally guilty of continuing with current job. However she was very enthusiastic about his latest project and gave us a reduced price lesson because she had home grown vegetables to take home.

I remember Chernobyl, and the Sellafield alarms, and that was when I stopped eating sheep and lambs...

I do have liquid iodine, in case. I also have miso soup, enough for a long time...in case...

I have been preparing for some years...

I didn't know John Campbell had said that...going to Google...
