I once read the full U.S. Food and Nutrition Board advice that was issued back in the 1940s. It was required reading for a lecture. The advice suggested that everyone drink 2.5 liters (84.5 ounces) per day — so not far off from today's standard. But even back then, that same recommendation went on to say that a majority of that water comes, not from a glass, but from "prepared foods." Hydration doesn't just come from drinking glasses of water but from food. If you drink lots of tea then you probably take in enough. Koffy is better though as it’s good for your gut, like chocolate.I'm one of those folks, who can't abide coffee!
I know, I'm one of a few!
I'm a tea drinker, always have been! Black, no milk, no sugar! Strong as possible!
Should drink more water, but it's my job, to make tea for us both!
Those nice folk at Coutts will let you open an account even if you have no money at all, as long as your mortgage is astronomical. Ever so umble Mr Copperfield. Thanks for the link to BBC sounds. I can't for one minute imagine a man of your means needing "that" letter from Coutts but might we all, perhaps, start crowd funding to ensure genteel Berkshire folk aren't victimised?
I can drink coffee but only once in a while, black, bitter and cold.I'm one of those folks, who can't abide coffee!

Yes, definitely the temp diary Secretary who is much more sensible than the permanent diary Secretaryis that temp diary secretary in for a few days?
We like Chinese and Japanese teas, especially in the summer months. We buy it on line Here, and drink it like they do in China: make tea in the morning and have a nice robust cup or cups. Use the same leaves for consequent brews so that it gets weaker as the day progresses.I can drink coffee but only once in a while, black, bitter and cold.
Tea for me every time but not too strong and never black - unless it is a fruit tea, or Chinese style.
For many people, coffee is a stimulant, but not for me. It has absolutely no stimulant effect, for some reason. I could drink a cup of black coffee and drop off for a lengthy, deep sleep shortly afterwards. But then, tea isn't either.
Tea made as you describe is soo very refreshing. I ought to make it more often but an ordinary Indian brew is easier and quicker, so that's what I tend to have most times. Very interesting information about Pekoetea, Edinburgh. Never heard of them before but it looks like a good source. We like Chinese and Japanese teas, especially in the summer months. Are you travelling this evening? The weather forecast for your area of EA this evening looks nasty. Thoughts with you.Yes, definitely the temp diary Secretary who is much more sensible than the permanent diary Secretary
??? Alok Sharma is MP for Reading West. Thanks for the link to BBC sounds. I can't for one minute imagine a man of your means needing "that" letter from Coutts but might we all, perhaps, start crowd funding to ensure genteel folk in Alok Sharma's constituency aren't victimised?
Apparently you can't be a pauper now, to hold a bank account with this financial institution!??? Alok Sharma is MP for Reading West.
Ah!Good morning everyone on a bright, sunny and breezy start here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this morning - how nice. The roses in the front garden have gone mental, one, a yellow one (fancy name unknown) is already up at about 5ft. It will have to be cut right back one the flowers are finished. I shall cut a few and put them in a vase but that might encourage more growing and flowering. I cut it right back in the autumn and did a real savage job on a pink one next to it but up they come. They came with the house so no idea about names, nor care really. Jobs today include lazing about, doing a bit of art, some more lazing about and probably a walk into town and back just to check that the distance is still the same (the universe is expanding at a very fast rate according to expanding universe watchers). Art bit - start of something a bit more “outdoors”. Have a day of days, we all have less time than we think and with the latest carbon saving option of boil in the bag funerals, I may need to revise my DNR instructions. Koffy, best have some more koffy.

Good luck for Marjorie @lindisfelAfter the hottest June we seem to be having the coldest July, it's expected to reach the dizzy heights of 15 Deg C today.
Off to Carlisle this pm, Marjorie has an appointment with dermatology.
There appears to moves afoot to let the health service fail and to structure a new model.
Can any political party survive such a revision of service provided?
D.
You did very well to get through that @AnnbBack from Glasgow by 7.30 pm. It was a long day and absolutely exhausting for both DIL and myself. It is going to take a while to recover from it. It was confusing and at times difficult but it was a lovely day. DIL is a great source of fun and a wonderful companion. We should have days out together more often because I think she enjoyed it as much as I did.
BG was pretty stable all day but I was a bit low on fluids. That was by choice because, especially in a wheelchair, it is difficult to access toilets. Even the "disabled" one at Glasgow airport was difficult for both access and egress. Best keep the fluids low. MRI scanning was a bit of a shock. I expected and prepared for the noise and the claustrophobic feeling and knew I could cope by shutting my eyes and my mind to my surroundings. I wasn't expecting to have a mask put over my face! That nearly blew the whole thing for me and I almost asked them to let me out. But I managed to hang on and, in the end, the worst part was trying to get off the "bed" after half an hour laying on my back, which I never do because it hurts so much and makes breathing difficult. I spent the half hour concentrating on controlling my breathing, so the enclosed space didn't get to me too much. Wouldn't really want to do it again though, so I hope that was the last time I'll have to. Not sure what I'll do if the scan shows something that needs surgery.
I hope it was a very happy birthday Rosemary. Of course, it would have been so much better because your daughter was there.Fbg 6.7

Yep, iced tea is smashingWhen on my visits abroard, even though it is on sale here in U.K., I always drank bottles of lemon tea, various brands, and in summer months, iced tea which have to be made correctly and tasty.
Best was in Greece, when I found a cafe close to beach, and was a Euro, best iced tea ever! It was about 105degrees in the shade! Couldn't walk in bare feet on the sand. Hot, hot, hot!
Happy Birthday @gennepher. Have a wonderful time with your daughter and thank your for the flowers.Fbg 6.7
