I don't know why, I do get hot under the collar, when I see bad cricket! If you're referencing the cricket I was checking my blood pressure when Brook had a brain blow off - awkward
It's not a game when one starts getting paid for it?I don't know why, I do get hot under the collar, when I see bad cricket!
It's only a game!
Aaaaagh!
Cricket, football, rugby, netball, baseball, those other games I can't remember the names of, olympics, golf, bridge, even whist. They are all just games but people do get so worked up over them. Nothing so frivolous is worth getting worked up over. I stopped playing bridge and whist for that very reason - never took them seriously and unforgivably, kept on winning. And I think the version of tennis I used to play (the grammar school I went to assumed that everyone already knew the rules of tennis and netball, so didn't bother explaining them), is preferable to the ultra competitive one they play in Grand Slams; that is, you deliberately put the ball where the other player can hit it back and so keep the volley going for as long as possible. I assumed one started off with a given number of points and deductions were made for putting the ball where it couldn't be returned. Now isn't that a better game?I don't know why, I do get hot under the collar, when I see bad cricket!

Unfortunately, the afternoon weather was abhorrent, total deluge. And it hasn't stopped much since, bloody awful again! Which park was it mate?Well it is late in the day but fbg this morning was 6.0.
Was Judith's 70th today so had a take away were going to go out for a meal but decided to wait till Adrian comes home in a week or so, He is returning to Oxford from Ards this week to continue studies at Blackfriars for a couple of years.
Keiran has been constructing decking in the back yard for the last week or so and is doing a grand job will post a picture when it's done.
Judith's brother I believe spent most of the day playing trombone with the Wirral wind band in the park
on the Wirral today hope the weather kept fine for him.
Interesting point. I would say Andy Murray didn't need the money from either the qaulifying tournament or Wimbledon but wanted to show - himself? - he could still "do it." Many sportspeople will say they are truly blessed. Firstly, to have the skills they have then to earn a living doing something they love as much now as when they started as a youngster. Many also use their money and fame to help others. I think it is now almost compulsory for NFL franchises and Premier League teams. @Annb hug for the assumption but nice take on an alternative version. Personally I don't/didn't cheat but my tea mug said it all: winning isn't everything but losing isn't anything. It's not a game when one starts getting paid for it?
Thank you @ianpspursGood morning all from a very sunny start here in the dust bowl. @dunelm thanks for sharing your art and take care of your back with all that other kind of painting. Blue - on the pale side -and white seems to be the favoured colourway of the more aspirational coastal venues - Southwold, Padstow (oysters in batter at Rick's chippy, divine daarling, divine) and Abersoch - no idea about oop norf. @JohnEGreen happy birthday yesterday for Judith, well done Kieran. Will the relocation mean you see more of Aidrian? @gennepher like @Annb the breath taking painting prompted the winner after reading of the trail of destruction wrought by the badgers. @Annb good news on feeling more energetic but take it easy. @Krystyna23040 good that you have more free time. Notcutts? how the other half live@lindisfel yes the Spector book is a hefty tome. Yesterday evening was Narnia evening - MIL enjoyed the entertainment and I recognised this voice then subscribed to her channel on youtube - not sure how I forgot to do that until now.
Unfortunately (again) professional sport is now only for entertainment rather than the skill necessary to actually be a professional. Winning is everything, results are more important than performance.Cricket, football, rugby, netball, baseball, those other games I can't remember the names of, olympics, golf, bridge, even whist. There was a good series on BT sport - South of the River, 3 parts - on how so many youngsters from South London had used "cage" football as a route out of potential gang and drug crime. The West Indian cricket team also used their skills to combat racism. NFL and Basketball players are also clear that they use their athleticism as a route to a college education, to help their family and community and provide an example pathway out of gang and drug crime. Allegedly, the leitmotif of Bazball is entertainment, helping with male mental health issues, Stokes is very good on this, and keeping Test cricket going.Unfortunately (again) professional sport is now only for entertainment rather than the skill necessary to actually be a professional. Pandering to the culture of modern society.

@SlimLizzy, it’s the identifiable bits that make up an apple.Whatever is it? Am guessing a salad dressing?
Smashing. I love the simplicity of it. Must get back to wet paper and spreading inks. Did you use any detergent?Fbg 6.1
I am getting 5's in the day, but not for fasting blood glucose...yet...
Wildlife cameras in the night...
The badger family.
The baby badgers are the ones with the splayed out tail.
Pa badger is a pain in the butt. I am assuming is him.
He took the lid off my wormery (where I make rich soil courtesy of the worms for my vegetable garden) and ate a few thousand worms. I hope he has severe tummy aches today. It is a very large solid black plastic dustbin. The lid has a twist lock which I find difficult to open. I now only have a few baby worms, so tiny you can hardly see them. It will take a couple of years or more to build that up again.
Aaaaggh!
Also one of the badger family has partially destroyed one of my stray cat pods, torn the front off, and scattered all the dry straw into the rain...
Sigh...
Creative is one of the ink paintings I did when my daughter was here. She is going back now to Australia.
She has taken this painting back with her because she liked it.
Have a good day.
How about an early morning sherry to kickstart the day?
No, I haven't...not yet...

Games. I prefered rock climbing and mountaineering - not as many people involved and nice Mr HM Forces paid for me to go to some nice places. I did play rugby and water polo and enjoyed orienteering immensely. Boxing, only because it was required. Kendo funnily enough - how to shout and belt someone with a big stick (it’s the American way dear heart). Walking races in Germany and The Netherlands - it’s a thing. But climbing mountains has always been my great pleasure. Off to Snowdonia with the family in August - will I make it up the Pyg Trail - who knows, certainly won’t be Crib Goch.Cricket, football, rugby, netball, baseball, those other games I can't remember the names of, olympics, golf, bridge, even whist. That's amazing!!!!@SlimLizzy, it’s the identifiable bits that make up an apple.
Love bazball, think we have some exceptionally talent at the moment, especially up north! There was a good series on BT sport - South of the River, 3 parts - on how so many youngsters from South London had used "cage" football as a route out of potential gang and drug crime. I'm sure your family have told you to take it steady but I'll echo that. Have you considered a smart watch with ecg and blood pressure functions plus alarm call facility? Here's an idea as a starter. No, I'm neither suggesting you are too frail nor trying to spend someone else's hard earned. Just thinking what would have been good for my parents and a brother in Christ. Pretty sure that like my dad you aren't going to change now but you may as well be well equipped and give Marjorie and the girls some peace of mindMust get myself a cheap but a working step counter to see if I can get a little fitter than I am.
Don't think much to phone apps.
I have a disabled card now and I really need it for visiting hospitals because walking up the hill at Carlisle is just too much.
