I do hope that you get your replacement sensor today. A shame that helping DIL has put you at risk.Well that trip to town was a bit more expensive than I was planning. We noticed on arrival at the Health Centre that one of the front tyres was looking a bit soft. When Neil had a closer look, he realised that it had worn much more than he had thought so, when I got out it was heigh ho for the tyre fitters for 2 new front tyres. Can't complain - it was £186 and I had anticipated quite a lot more.
DIL has been told to get her BG under control before they will operate on her spine. She's been letting things slide recently and only taking her basal dose but not testing. That's because the Libre sensors keep falling off of her arms and she seems to have lost her fingerprick kit. Alistair came in yesterday begging my spare sensor to be replaced as soon as he can get a prescription for her own. Of course I gave it to him but he phoned later to say it had fallen off as well. So she has had to borrow my fingerprick kit. Unfortunately, my Libre is warning me that I only have 2 hours left on this existing sensor - yesterday it told me I had 2 days left but it seems to have changed its mind. I am hoping Alistair comes in with the replacement sensor this evening, otherwise I'll have no idea what my BG is. Just have to be careful until I can get the replacement.
Not too much risk. I'll know in time if BG starts to get too low - I can usually feel it at 3.3 or .4 - time enough to take action. Might make me feel a bit grotty afterwards but it wouldn't be the first time. Going too high is a risk, but only a long term one and I'll try to avoid that by eating only protein today. She has tried various coverings and none of them will stick. I think it depends on the skin. They never used to stick on me, but my skin has become quite dry in these last few months and now they do - even without a cover. Maybe she could try sticking them to another part of her anatomy which might be more favourable. I think I read somewhere that they can go on the stomach.@Annb I hope you soon acquire a sensor. Does DIL use any kind of covering - I use tegiderm.

7.1 this morning! Not unhappy, but this cold just won't shift!
I remember from t.v.made about half a century ago on The Beverly Hillbillies, that Granny's potion for a cold was known for curing the symptoms. However, it did take ten days to work! And having to suffer the dreadful taste of the cure.
Not realising that coldx usually last ten days!

Woke up cold in bed, the usual, shaking and coughing, and stiffness, about half five. It must have been just above freezing when taking wind chill into account. It's about fifteen degrees now. No rain. Good day for drying!
The wife is still resting and I have managed my chores and shopping, to be able to watch the test match.
I'm hoping the grandkids come around later. Could do with cheering up!

Alistair just came in with a replacement for my Libre sensor and my fingerprick kit, so all's back to normal. I'll check my BG and then see about some food. 7.8 - I'll count that as a success.
