What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.3 and my 8mm dia wood drill bit got a right old drilling, the size 5 x 50mm long wood screws found a home, the M8 x 130mm long coach bolts are behaving nicely and happily mating with 8mm dia penny washers wearing their nuts.
Reminds me of this old ditty “ nut screws washers and bolts “

Now I must raid my wood store for a large sheet of plywood, sand some reclaimed decking, but first I must make the afternoon tea, me, me’s and myself know our place.

Stay safe all and thanks for the art work.

3+ hour power cut during the night. Of course, it was just when I had to get up. Found my way to the kitchen using the light from my Libre and turned on the battery powered storm lantern that we keep there - only to find that it faded in a few minutes to a dim glimmer. Decided to use a candle and found that the candles had disappeared from the candle holders. Where? No idea so I had to go hunting for a candle holder that actually had a candle in it. Found an old Drambuie bottle used as a candle holder and then had to hunt for the matches. Finally got it lit and giving enough light to see what I was doing. That was all at 1.30 am. The Drambuie bottle was a one litre one which Tom turned into a candle holder years ago and it has been left on a shelf for many years with its candle in ready to use. Drambruie was his absolute favourite tipple.

BG at 1.45 am was 13.9. At present it's 10.4. So far this morning I've put some stuff away that has been hanging around for a few days, stripped my bed and put the first of the washing on, checked the bathrooms and got everything up off the floor - it's floor cleaning day. Need to have some breakfast quite early to have it all out of the way before my cleaner arrives.

Better get on.
I hark back to power cuts and doing chores in candlelight overseen by my mother!

I said to my better half this morning that I need to clean, chores, washing, floors, and shopping before the lady gets here to assess the house. You chuffin idiot!
Why tidy up, when you need help to do what you have been doing?
That is me! An idiot!

Good morning from Cineworld L.A. where MoveIt, MoveIt is showing almost continuously on loop in the lounge. Apple or banana rice clouds with blueberries are available on demand along with models of all the featured animals. In other news today is SSSF (with Milky's Halum frites) and somehow the Lionesses and Bazball need to be shoe horned into the day. @Annb hug for the power cut and busy morning but good news on finding the Dramhuie bottle. Not keen on it solo but a rusty nail warms the heart on a cold day. @gennepher the wonderful creative provides brightness in a wet July for you. Enjoy your day mine has been truly blessed - heaven in the ordinary.
not only lionesses, bazball, phone calls, assessment, chores so far (All going well) I'm venturing to a preseason game this evening! So I should be a bit tired later!
don't know how I found time to work for a living?

Immortality?
Round worms from a Gopher burrow in the Siberian permafrost have been reactivated after 46,000 years!
Perhaps we shall have to watch out for reactivated viruses and bacteria, I don't think we shall have to worry about Sabre Toothed Tigers!
D.
What about lionesses?

Been to Carlisle Hospital this pm and have a portable ECG monitor on for the weekend.
Probably find my heart's a swinging brick as my sister used to suggest.:)

A new partner to sleep with eh?

FBG today 5.8mmols it is a rollercoaster this week! Mmmmm!
not surprisingly tho!
Been on tenterhooks this morning with the assessment this pm.
I must admit, it went brilliantly, and I can only say, that from being ignored by everyone for over a decade, we are being inundated with offers for help and assistance. The main aim was a walk in shower/ wet room. And a stair rail up the wall opposite to the banister rail with a couple of adaptations around the house.
It is now a list, possibly longer and more items than we could have wished for.
And it's not as if it's a maybe! It will happen! I just couldn't believe what the lady was proposing. Even down to a fall alarm system.
And offers of help with lots more!
Finishing the week with some good news!
TGIF!
Have a lovely weekend.

Wonderful news and only what you both deserve.

This morning 6.5 that is a finger prick rleading as libre finished yesterday .

Update on kitchen all cupboards finished and tiling completed looks great thought that was it thought wrong Keiran not happy with kitchen sink so new one delivered yesterday so he will be ripping the old one out and fitting the new one in the next day or so he is making full use of all those qualifications he gained in electrical fitting, plumbing and painting and decorating before taking his degree in economics I’m getting a little concerned as he has a qualification in brick laying just hope he doesn’t decide to tear the whole house down and rebuild it.
Love him to bits when people say youngsters today are lazey he shows that is just not so, he has done all this while working full time for the. Post office.

3 am - BG 6.3. 6.30 am 6.1. Not sure why. It may be because I upped my basal dose to 60u a couple of days ago. That's the maximum my pen will deliver so I hope it will be enough.

My cleaner didn't come yesterday after all and I've heard nothing from her so I don't know if she plans to come today. Well - if she does, she does; if not, the floors will still be there. As my mother in law used to say: "the house will still be there when you're not, and still need cleaning, so don't worry." Her house, however, was always spotless.

Nighttime wildlife camera.
The Fox and the Cats
A thunderclap scares all the animals...
Midnight takes it in his stride...almost...

Creative is acrylic inks and a hake brush and water. An actual physical painting.
Now, I always have this urge to play with photographic editing software. And so the second picture is more reflective of my mood, emotions and feelings.

The first painting, as I have said before, is for actual postcards to send to my postcrossing friends. An original piece of physical artwork (for want of a better word). But it is too pretty pretty to satisfy me personally as an artist. I need something more in depth of my mood, feelings, and emotions (and some other stuff).

And so the bottom painting is using the original ink painting to create digitally how I am feeling at the moment, or processing some thoughts. I think this way might fulfil my need to express this issue.

This will probably be the one and only time I will 'explain' myself. And for the foreseeable future, I will be presenting my daily creative in this way.

Robin Redbreast is the first bird visitor at the bird feeders at the moment. He has claimed the one near me as his own sole feeder. The sparrows are at the second feeder. The baby sparrows are all developing they adult markings, but they can still turn into cute fluff balls if they can con someone into feeding them.

Now I need to move. I am here when I need to be driving there. A local shop stopped selling something I needed more of. Internet search led to a small town in England (I live in Wales), and so that is my task this morning (no, they don't deliver).

Have your best day.

Finishing my cuppa here. And giving cat Midnight a little more loving...

Catch you later.

Winner for having such a helpful and skilled son.

Now we are being spoiled.

Good morning everyone on what may or may not be a fine day here in Harrogate. 5.2 this am and I have a small list of goods to purchase from Betty’s tea rooms for Mrs Miggins and our daughter. Sounds expensive, better warn the moths in my purse. A lively evening last night and some have already departed for the day for a wander round some manicured fields with a bag of bats and small white balls. More arriving today, our reunion dinner tonight - a collar and tie are required. Hopefully other garments also. Art bit, the finished gate. Hope you all have a smashing day, the hotel koffy is dreadful.

6.0 this morning. I am so happy that it looks like I have finally got out of the 7s and into the 5s and low 6s. At least I hope that I have.

Again it is rush rush and off to non-stop classes until 6pm. Still, I shouldn't complain as I am completely in charge of my diary.
