What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better today - sometimes it's good to share your concerns. It helps to bring them back down to size. This forum is a great place to share.

Thinking of things needing cleaned up and blackened pots and kettles, who am I to advise you not to be stressed? I do it all the time - whenever I know people will be coming here. Not so much worried about the state of the house - it is as it is and isn't going to change. It's feeding people. It's what I do and I seem to have a reputation for it so I don't want to disappoint. So I push myself too far and end up in serious pain. That's after spending the days beforehand planning and working out how late I can leave prep so that I can work at a very slow pace and still get things done in time. I only realised last evening, after I had collapsed in the chair and slept for 2 hours after my guests left, just how much strain I had put myself (body and mind) under. Ridiculous. I vowed to desist in future. A simple repaste will have to do, not the over-catered thing I usually do.

Good morning everyone, how you 'doin? I'm waiting on part of the feedback from the scan before ordering another Swipey but head and brain are at least present and correct according to Sunday's scan. Wet start here from overnight rain but currently dry so watering is done. @Krystyna23040 hug for the noise but the drive will obviously be better once done. @dunelm thank you sharing the amazingly detailed art. @lindisfel your yak quip gave me an earworm. @SlimLizzy so pleased for you that things seem less gloomy today. The Little Guy ™ is sharing his last day as a one year old with us today - God's grace is not the mystery people think. Keto cinnamon doughnuts winging their way here later then some birthday cake - <15 gms should be doable and absolutely no icing which I have always detested. Enjoy you day as much as possible but some days aren't diamonds - hug for the pain @alf_Josiah - and pretending they are never works.

BG at 4 am was 7.3. For me that's pretty good. It's currently up to 8.9 and I'm thinking of getting my day going with some breakfast.

Last night, after my exhausting day, I dozed on and off in the kitchen chair (not the big comfortable one, the office style one at my desk) until I realised it was midnight and I should just go to bed. Went through and sat on the edge of my bed to say my nighttime prayers and woke up, still fully clothed at 3.45 am. Came back through to the kitchen for pain killers and a cup of tea sitting in the big chair and fell asleep again. Struggled to wake up at 8.30. Just had another cup of tea to get me going. That big chair is a sleep seducer.

To seat all the folk yesterday I had to get Neil to find me another 6 chairs from around the house and, thankfully, while I rested, he took them all away again so there is now room to move in here. Not that I shall be moving much - my body is on strike today.

Have a good day off and take it easy.

Good Morening again Ladies and Gentleman and of course @ianpspurs. My philosophy is very simple, always look for the silver lining in very cloud……then nick it, another is if you woke up this morning, stretched your arms out and didn’t touch wood it’s a good morning.
Koffy is wonderful, but always start the day with tea.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Poems are hard
Bacon is nice.

Not strike just recovery - much more gently than an ice bath. As for the pre-event stress many appear to be gliding through life like swans but what lies beneath is totally different. We are none of us perfect or we wouldn't need salvation. We are made to share love and care but are one body with many members. Your light shines most vividly through hospitality. Peace be with you.

Alfball is born. Be afraid people, be very afraid.

Thank you @ianpspurs

Thank you Ian. I am going to try to be more sensible though. I'll probably last longer to be in a position to offer hospitality that way.

I like this version

@ianspurs

Would an Ian who supports Arsenal be known as ianarse?

I mean I’m an Ian too but somehow iancarlisleunited doesn’t have the same ring as your moniker!!

Have a good season
Anyone who supports the Woolwich Nomads could well be known by all sorts of names - its the bantz innit? I googled your potential username. Works well. You become Cumbrian

Deja vu, this morning.
6.9 again!
Lots of the damp and moist stuff on my grass and driveway again!!
Tippling down with the prospect of more in grey clouds which are turning blacker!
And another storm on the way for the weekend!
Nipping the shop when it stops!

Roses are many hues.
Violets are purple.
Both are expensive.
To impress your beau.

I can't rhyme either!

Have a very nice wet Wednesday!

Best wishes as always!

A local weather site.
Has sounded a warning to beware of going the coastal promenade around our peninsula because of the August Spring tides over the next couple of days followed by the incoming storm over the weekend!
A spring tide is not in the spring as you would think, it is to refer to the highest tide because of the moon's positioning, of which tides are dependent. There is a particularly close moon over the next week or so! Not that anyone around here can see it!

So batten down your hatches, glue your hair, get your so'wester out. And put on your galoshes on. You don't need a brolly, too windy!

We are doomed! And rishi wants to make the weather worse!

Could be the only pledge he nails.

Started to reply to this early but fell asleep...
Again I like the trees and their greens @dunelm
