Enjoy family time. Yes, my bike had no hands either. What a coincidence.Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those that played hopscotch in their youth, rode bicycles with no hands and climbed trees, oh and went scrumping.
Blood sugars this morning were 5.7
We are spending precious time with Mrs J’s family, Mrs J is very happy, she has seen some new additions the newest is 10 months old, one couple are celebrating 60 years of marriage this year. The rest of the family fit somewhere in between.
My function at the these meetings is to smile sweetly, speak when spoken to, say the absolute minimum and break wind discreetly.
This afternoon could be quiet or incredibly rowdy I have no idea, all will be revealed in the fullness of time, but first an afternoon nap is required.
Stay safe all
If I remember the law at the time Lamont a fixed wheel had no rear brake because by pushing back on the pedals braked the back driving wheel but a front brake was still necessary. The first bicycle, I encountered had a fixed wheel and no brakes.
my first bike was a Raleigh and my first ride, I pressed the wrong brake and ended on my backside, I went over the hand lebars! So someone had a hand in my first accident!
Sorry to hear about you horrible day! Hope you feel better tomorrow!BG has been in the 6's all day today. That's because I've had nothing to eat and little to drink since about 8 am yesterday. That's definitely an effective way to bring BG down.
I've been confined to my bed and the big kitchen chair much of yesterday and all today. Desperate pain in my feet and ankles has kept me off my feet - wimp that I am I can't bear putting my weight on them. Bad enough just being in the chair or the bed and trying to find a comfortable position. A few times I've absolutely had to get up and get myself to the toilet - that takes me about 10 minutes to gently slide my feet, without bending them and transferring my weight, oh so carefully, across the kitchen floor, then the hall and to the bathroom - about 25 feet in all. Then it's the same journey back.
I was going to ask Neil to bring my wheelchair in from the car so that I could use that around the house, but when he came through he was also feeling awful, so I didn't. He even offered, but I told him no, I would manage. His feeling awful is because the GP has given him the wrong size of BP pills which means his BP plummets to the point where he is collapsing. He has only been taking them every 2nd day but still, on the first day, he feels terrible. Luckily he received a new prescription for a smaller size tablet today. `
Usually, when I go to bed, or fall into the big chair, I have that wonderful, ecstatic moment when the pain is at its worst but I sink into the bed and my muscles and bones realign themselves and I know that in about half a minute, the pain will ease and I'll be comfortable for a while. It's a Hallelujah moment. Really. It's a moment to thank the Lord for the respite. Do others feel that same ecstatic moment?
Oh I don’t know! - no animals intended in this one but our visual system can throw us lots of curved balls. Is that China's Mt Rushmore I see animals in the mountains?
D.
Rudge. My dad bought it for me. Second hand and in bits - we put it together and I got a paper round. Who was it lending a hand in your first accident? Bit early in life to make enemiesThe first bicycle, I encountered had a fixed wheel and no brakes.

It reminds me of the birder on the Scilly Islands who claimed an American Nighthawk in a field which turned out to be a cowpat. I think he silently disappeared back home.Oh I don’t know! - no animals intended in this one but our visual system can throw us lots of curved balls.
Thanks for the good wishes. Haven't tried to move much yet, but so far, so good.Good morning everyone from a wonderfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this morning after dinner out. Clog dancing, a menagerie of musical instruments, sing arounds and a bodhran workshop yesterday morning in town. Other things that we missed. Grandchildren being picked up today and staying with us for the week. What fun. Buckets and spades will need checking this morning. Lots of dolphins spotted along the cliffs last night. Estimates of 50 or so along the NE coast. Will this push up house prices? Art bit, another start. Hope everyone has a pleasant day. @Annb - I hope you have a better day. Just been told it’s our wedding anniversary, oops! Best make lofty.

Hugs for all the pain @AnnbLast night, for the first time ever, I think, I prayed for an ease to my pain or strength to withstand it. It has never been so disabling before. Guess what. This morning, although the pain is still there, the pain in my ankle has gone so I am much more able to cope with the rest. Not walking well, but I can get across the kitchen floor in about 2 minutes - a vast improvement on yesterday. Was this an answer to my prayer? Who knows, but I'm not for looking a gift horse in the mouth. Just be grateful for what I have been given. That doesn't mean I am going to dance around the house. There was that saying about the gods taking care of those who take care of themselves, after all. No, easy does it.
BG still around 6 but maybe I'll have some food in a while and see what happens.
They made motor bikes as well, one guy locally had a Rudge Ulster. I don't think there was many about when you had bikes Dunelm.Rudge. My dad bought it for me.
