Was out earlier, needed a sleep when I got back...just woke up!

Badgers & Fox & Cats - Cat Midnight watches over them all
57 seconds

Creative...probably the best of the 3 acrylic ink paintings using the credit card, but it is not satisfying me...I need to approach this differently...
Yesterday evening I sat on the swing with Midnight. It was still light, and I was looking on my phone. But I must have fallen asleep, because my hand was on Midnight, and I was aware of something which was not a cat, against my legs. I opened my eyes quickly, it was pitch black. Whatever it was vanished, just a branch moving where it had disappeared.

Fortunately for me my phone has a metal ring on the back, so that was still on my finger. I had been asleep for a couple of hours!

I got indoors quickly, and so never set up the trail cameras with fresh batteries and new sd cards last night.

I am guessing it was the fox, he is usually the first visitor of the night...

I need to think now how to continue painting these postcards...

Food first...I need to cook it...lamb chops I bought this morning...

Have your best day.

Robin Redbreast is outside my bedroom door all splendid and smart in his fresh new livery and brand new tail feathers. He is ready for the ball...

Quite an unnerving experience last evening. Thanks for sharing the creative which looks wonderful to me. Enjoy/hope you enjoyed the lamb chops. Meanwhile all the party leaders have jumped on the Lionesses bandwagon - except one . He should have let Lewis continue looking after him - bless.

Lamb chops - smashing. Lovely art. How robust is the paper that you are using? Will it take some welly like a canvas when paint/ink is scraped away? However you do it, the recipients of these cards are going to be as pleased as punch.

Thank you.
And the chops were lovely...

The paper I am using currently, is not robust, they are blank postcards. It will take a little scraping and working into.

I was working with some watercolour inks a short while ago on the cheap postcards. The colour is not so intense.

I need to get my better paper. Was thinking of trying some cartridge paper next. I've got some to hand.
Then I'll try some mixed media paper I like. After that there's all the named art papers, and NOT and Hot Press. I do like a Canson NOT paper, watercolour inks and watercolours will lift off that when you scrape.

But, I will have to cut all these down into postcard size. I do have a small book of 300grams paper postcard size, but it was rather expensive...

Anyway, still playing...
A photo popped up today and reminded me that I do miss these. We toyed with digging up and taking our apple trees with us when we move but decided not to chance it.

They look good. I would have tried to graft some cuttings...

Best wishes for all those expecting A Level results and their parents/grandparents here. Some may soon have access to their's via UCAS. A:Level results day was a day of high emotions for students and parents, Teachers would have been analysing their value added/residuals/future from midnight the previous night. This cohort were hit by lockdown and now the government's decision to pretend that didn't happen. Hugs for those youngsters who don't make their first choice and you if affected as a close family member.

Dylan is on Lanzarote at the moment with his Mum and Dad and will get his first year A level results next week but he has told his mum he doesn't want to go to Uni but for some reason he would like to do an apprenticeship instead.

I let my two go and what they did resulted in careers, he listened when I told him how my career went but I obviously didn't influence him one jot.
The Pandemic has been very disruptive at State Schools but Private schools have been able to compensate for their pupils.

Presumably his school will have talked to him about these? #1 son is doing an MSc that way.

I suppose you would need an established vigorous stock to graft onto?

Oh what a day, again!
We, reluctantly arrived at the hospital, the wife was insistent that it was all a bit of a palaver, and didn't need her scan, but the insistence of my reasoning got her booked in!
She was shown to the MRI, and five minutes later, the door shut, I peeked around the corner of the waiting room, but never seen anyone, I then saw the radiologist, the clear indication from her look to me was why are still sitting there?
I rushed out into the corridor and just managed to recognise the top my beloved was wearing, having shouted once, I got closer, needing to get her attention, which I did on the third try!
I caught up and asked her why she had walked off, without me? She just looked at me, blank. And told me, we were going home, she passed me her jewellery. Then she wanted the hospital shop and picked up some lemon biscuits for her. Go figure!
I suggested a cuppa, which she spilled, I cleaned up and while her attention was with me, I put her jewellery back on including her ear rings, in the middle of the hospital cafe! Then picked up some lovely fresh fruit from a vendor just inside the main entrance, of which half a punnet of strawberries are washed and waiting to be savoured.
I ordered the taxi home. The number of taxis that passed us was many, even one from the same firm that was waiting for a fare. Ours arrived after twenty minutes, the driver asked the other driver, why he didn't take us home! All a bit of a kerfuffle! The taxi company have just been bought out by one of the bigger operators. And the running of the taxis this week has been a bit of a disaster!
We got home and more much needed tea! Along with her meds and morphine patch.
I helped her get comfortable, so that I could do the morning chores and do some lawn work and tidying the garden.
Her decision to go and have a lie down upstairs out of the way, gave me more time to get some washing and cleaning done. As I was in mid dishes mode there was a knock on the door. I thought that it was my trek DVD being delivered as promised by the post office. Ha!
It was a chap from the housing, asking to measure the back step railing, I showed him and he went after using his tape measure and pen and paper!
Mid washing on the clothes line. Another knock. Maybe post office?
No another housing person. He was coming back later in the afternoon to fit the rails on the stairs, front step and bathroom and toilet! Of which he returned and did an excellent job.
BY which time, I was gardening and going for a bit of shopping. Which involved in buying a couple of plants!!
Which, because the wife had arisen from her pit because of the drilling and banging, she walked over with me!
So by the time, I had put the pork chops in the oven, I was elbow deep in soil and planting some Autumn flowering plants, I know not which species!
Evening meal, lawnmower, spade, trowel all put away, a bit more water for the garden, togger on the box, writing this journal of my day, tracked my DVD, in London!!!!
I'm a bit knackered, done too much!
I will probably do too much tomorrow!
What a beautiful day and warm!
I am glad that I went to watch my local team win last night, not only because they won, but I managed a bit of respite and a bit of socialising with some friends and colleagues, plus one of my grandsons, came over to see me.
Clear skies over the coast, maybe some stargazing after the footie!
Hope you all had a wondrous Wednesday.
My best wishes to you all as always!
Wonder, what adventures await me on the morrow?

Apparently, government spending per pupil in state schools has dropped significantly!
Government spending per pupil in public schools has rise in line with inflation.
You just couldn't write this!

The better half is off to Carlisle today because she simply has to have a day spending some money in various shops. I could not stand or walk round for a day so I am counting this one out.
She is not taking the car all the way but leaving it near the main road and catching the bus, so I just have to manage to do my lunch:)

Abigail's 27th wedding Anniversary today, I hope they enjoy it on Lanzarote and don't drink too much.

Have your best day, I hope all goes well.

Good morning everyone on what looks like it may be a smashing day for a whole variety of reasons in the dark and dangerous north. 5.2 this am. Decided to take the car into town yesterday which meant I could walk down the cliff steps to the prom and spend time with the grandchildren. Even managed to walk back up the steps. A bit of shopping and then home by which time everyone had walked back. Paddling pool out in the afternoon, fun and japes. They are all off to a petting zoo today - so a smashing day for them and a smashing day for me. Art bit, another starter. Hope the sun shines for you today and all the best for A level results and anniversaries. I now need some koffy.
