Nice day yesterday.
Sat on swing, but it was cooler, so came in to the warm side of the front window!
Looks promising today.
Started this post at 7 am...now 11:11am and one Skype call later, some making of protein pancakes to freeze, and breakfast was 2 eggs on one of those protein pancakes...now on the swing with a flask, feet up on a garden chair, me hiding in the shade of the swing..it is already 24 C...
Phew...
Two videos I posted last night.
Cats Midnight and Merlin on night duty on the swing...

this one?
Badger cub ate all 5 biscuits before his sister arrived, then they dug for worms.
I threw out some leftover biscuits for the foxes, but the boy badger cub got there first.
Creative - as before - from some soft pastel paintings I did a few years ago. I am reworking them. I also had some Aquarelle Neocolour pastels Caran D'Ache (pastels to add water to), and played with these. So, a sort of pastel mixed media painting.
Have a peaceful day.
Time for coffee...
My internet gone down...why?
Had to piggyback my phone data to post this...

Thanks for that Ian, I will look at it tonight and reminisce and remember well the times I went and looked at the two Fen rivers, The Welland and the Witham where they went into the Wash. I think there was a lot more wildfowling then. My pal at Lincoln has a old punt gun on the chimney breast of his property.Morning all from L.A. where the sun is shining on both the righteous and me because that's the way it works. @Krystyna23040 enjoy your leisure and a a stroll in the sun. You use Aldi, have you tried their peanut butter which has the same nutritionals as Bulk but at half the price?. Aldi? - long story about traffic on the A11 and how we had to take scenic route into Newmarket. Call me Dave's plan to fix broken Britain seems to have been lost along with the details of just which buildings will fall on you. I'm watching a film about Ernie James. @lindisfel here's a link if interested. Have a good day everyone.
Great image there Gennepher. Looks like our Broad Bay - just at the end of our road. Love your treatment of the sky.Fbg 6.9

Yes @ianpspurs I do buy the Aldi crunchy peanut butter. I find it really good and actually better - or at as good as other more expensive healthy brands.Morning all from L.A. where the sun is shining on both the righteous and me because that's the way it works. @Krystyna23040 enjoy your leisure and a stroll in the sun. 6.8 again, mind you it is there after a scary night! I think!Hi Lamont
Saw the moon very early this am in the Western sky. it still looked quite bright. Then again when it's dark here its really dark, no streetlights.
Best wishes
Derek
Interesting look at an old Fen character in a world that was less polluted and the locals were more self sufficient as they cropped the more prolific wildlife. Thank you Ian.Morning all from L.A. where the sun is shining on both the righteous and me because that's the way it works. @Krystyna23040 enjoy your leisure and a stroll in the sun. I was of course being satirical! You might nod in agreement with this. If only it wasn't so serious and dangerous
Thank you very much. It wasn't an internet connection it was a power cut and I didn't realise that electricity was off...Thanks for sharing the beautiful creative. I hope your internet connection is restored. Enjoy the sun from the safe shade of the swing
Hi @AnnbGreat image there Gennepher. Looks like our Broad Bay - just at the end of our road. Love your treatment of the sky.
Our internet has been playing up for a couple of days as well - and the phone has been quite crackily. Maybe something to do with the weather. Internet keeps dropping out for several minutes at a time and then spontaneously coming back on. Neil has checked our system and says it is something further back - possibly at the exchange.
Speaking to my brother this evening and mentioned the concrete issue. He was an engineering consultant and inspected various buildings (schools, hospitals, office buildings, construction sites, airports) around the south of England mainly, but some as far north as Edinburgh. He was telling me that as far back as the 1990's he and colleagues were warning about aerated concrete and suggesting solutions which ranged from demolish and rebuild, to building extra support into the structures. Sometimes the clients complied, sometimes they didn't. He could only advise. He reckons that much of the problem was poor quality concrete and workmanship, exacerbated by poor maintenance. He says that because of concerns about the lifespan of the concrete structures, use of the material was discontinued. It seems that the concrete was reinforced by steel rods. The steel rods were the actual support. But they weren't stainless and so were subject to rusting and thus, eventual failure. Had the concrete been solid, they would not have rusted through, but there were air holes in the concrete. Where air can get through, so can water, especially if the structure is not as well maintained as it should be.You might nod in agreement with this. If only it wasn't so serious and dangerous
