What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen from a distinctly damp Tilehurst Towers.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.1

Good luck to all those who are undergoing hospital procedures today and in the next few days. My turn next week and the week after.
Today being a Wednesday and plinky plonky lesson day, but my lesson is cancelled due to covid, the implications of this are my usual encounter with the religious zealots will not take place, shame. I might just have to howl at the moon if the cloud cover permits.

I will be unsupervised nearly all of today, but do have a task list and koffy to quaff.
Now it is time to look busy Mrs J is dashing around in preparation for going out, but glancing my way with that wifely look…..
 
Good luck when your turn comes around for a hospital stay. I'm sure the zealots will miss you today. You must make their day for them.

Thanks @Annb. All went very smoothly as there is an MRI unit in the medical centre of a small village which is easy to access - mainly on dual carriageway A roads. Treatment tomorrow in a different location across the Real Fens. Both in Cambs. Thanks be to God (working through politicians and medical staff) that such facilities are available and free at the point of need. I'll be very happy for both procedures to continue for years and years. MRIs are no problem its just the waiting for results - every 3 months at present.

Best wishes for the procedures over the next two weeks. Never mind the zealots, watch out for the prelates. Kevlar chasubles and them there croziers are vicious pieces of kit. You mitre seen 'em about.

6.8 on this everything is wet outside but it hasn't rained day.

I pass on my best wishes to all those undergoing medical treatment at this time and in the soon.

More chores to do, bed linen needed changing and washing. Another accident with tea this time.
Exercising has eased my back a great deal, which is good and my energy levels are decent.

The augeries were fairly accurate this morning. I really need to spend the day in bed, but that's not a possibility. Makes me feel very lazy because I've done very little so far, and none of the jobs I hoped to do. It's 4 days since I had my flu and covid vaccines so I don't suppose it can be that. Why is my body doing this to me? I think, somehow, I've grown old on the outside when I really only believe I am 26.

26 was when I discovered that I wasn't actually stupid after all, which I had understood from my teachers. I had read an article in Readers Digest about Mensa which contained a test. I did the test for fun and ended up with a good mark. The article offered an official Mensa test, an offer which I accepted. Sat the test in Glasgow and came out with a very high score. Gave me some self belief and I began to feel fine about myself. I guess that's where I wanted to stay, so inside me, that's where I did stay. Not that I think a high IQ is indicative of anything except the ability to score well in specific tests. After all, what have I done with it? Not a lot. It did give my confidence a boost though.

Joined MENSA but didn't keep going with it, the other members I came across were pretty childish, arrogant and self centred, in my opinion.
 
Yesterday was a good day I took Marjorie to tai chi in Carlisle came back and filled the Octavia up with diesel and came home and wrote a text to the better half saying where I would pick her later in am in Wigton.
The diabetic nurse rang me up and wanted to do an over the phone appointment because she couldn't(…› make my appointment at the surgery on Thursday. We had a good chat and she was quite happy with my stability in over a decade since I was diagnosed. By the time we were finished it was time to go off into Wigton to pick Marjorie up.Oh and I posted Helen's wedding anniversary card as well. I actually felt more my old self.

Today it was completely different.


Oh how have the mighty fallen and the weapons of war perished.
Shopping in Wigton was an ordeal. Now I am in bed hoping to have a snooze.
