What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Not 'Engage'!...???

Cheers mate, decent win for your lot, last night, even though once again you tried to throw it away!

Hug for all the frustration and tiredness. Winner for the creative. There is definitely Aslan or maybe Scar in there.

Make sure you have an up-to-date map
Don't rely on memory of what it used to be last time you were there
In towns street layouts change (become one way or change the one way or become No Entry)
My next tip was going to be,

Make sure your sat nav has been updated to latest information on the roads.
The first guy who I started travelling with had a sat nav, that had been used to navigate Romans around.
(I've told you a million times, I don't exagerate!) Well about ten years old.
We had to get the maps out!!

That is outa here! Stunning, visual impressiveness!
not bad at all!

I remember many years ago in Kirkcaldy on are first visit there stopping to ask a passer-by directions to Judith’s aunt’s house as he was giving us directions another chap stopped and no he’s wrong you would be quicker going this way as they were arguing about it a third guy joined in with another set of directions then a fourth and so on till we had about 6 blokes all with different ideas on which was the best way to go things got heated fists started to fly so we just slipped away to find are own way there leaving a mini riot behind us don’t know if they even noticed we had gone.

Love it!
Ask a yokel became synonymous with going to non league grounds!

Well what a day and I hope that you are now in a good place. Despite not wanting to finish your Chinese drawing it has made a smashing kaleidoscope.

surely it it nearly holiday time but if not take it as easy as someone like yourself can
I don't think that I am very good at taking it easy. Actually I don't think that Mr K is either. I have done some relaxing and reading and drinking coffee but have also done quite a lot of catching up with things. Which feels really good.

Not so good is that I have managed to lose all the icons on the desktop of my PC. I have no idea how I managed to do that as I was only changing some display options.

I have tried unsuccessfully to fix it so will ring the Tech people on Monday and they will sort it remotely. It will probably take them about 5 minutes to fix it.

Good morning all, had another good nights sleep since I followed daughter's advice and took my sertraline at bed time.
I feel a new me after suffering years of poor sleep.

I just wish I could get my mobility back but I am going to have to fight that one.

We went to town yesterday mornng getting some bits for a tele and getting the Octavia tyres assessed at ATS
The Church was out singing carols in town where we parked and we chatted to a few and we crept up to the ironmongers that was, me creeping along wth my walking pole ahd Phil the minister came up to see if I needed help and then we got invited to Christmas lunch.
The church is like a big friendly family.

They help as many as they can in the town whatever their faith.... practical Christianity.
Oh and ATS are putting on four new michelins next wednesday replacing the continentals, then it should be ok.

Have a great sunday all of you.

F.B.G this am 6.1.

Have you tried switching it off,
Then back on again. ...mmm

I had a letter yesterday afternoon that has just come, which I had no idea was coming, and I had no idea this had been set in motion. It had to be the Specsavers optician that says I have cataracts, that set this in motion.

From NHS Wales.
But at the bottom it says eidohealthcare.com
And EIDO.

It is for cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) with Monofocal Intraocular Lens Implant.
This offer expires the end of March 2024.

Among other things that leaflet tells you to let the healthcare team know if you have had previous laser eye surgery.

And asks you to ask questions of your surgeon or healthcare team if you don't understand or have questions.

What surgeon? What healthcare team? This letter is a complete surprise to me.

This is an 11 page document about cataracts the offer of which expires end of March 2024, and all the pages say "Copyright EIDO Systems International"

The covering letter simply says NHS Wales Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board, but NO actual location/address where it has come from, the only contact is a phone number which is just for appointments. There is no email address, although there is a picture of an envelope, but no email address by it. This covering letter is from an Appointments Clerk (but from where). The letter tells me they (who are they?) will be in touch, and offer me an appointment as soon as one becomes available and under "Where will I be seen", it says the majority of appointments offered to you will be in the location nearest your home. This letter was sent 14 Dec 23.

I cannot talk to daughter in Australia, she is on holiday, in some remote location in an Airbnb and she says she has no Internet connection for a week and a half. She needed a break...

I don't like the sound of this letter. Sounds very rushed to me. Anyway, I had a look at the Monofocal Intraocular Lens Implant details, and it says I will still need glasses for both long distance and also glasses for reading, which was not my understanding of a monocular lens. The optician had said, Specsavers optician, that the NHS only did the monocular lens (when she was telling me I urgently needed the cataract in my right eye doing), and that I would only need glasses for reading after the cataract operation (I had told her I was going for a second opinion at St Paul's and I was going this coming week and gave her the date).

So is this a private healthcare company? I did a bit of research online, and I find they are providing digital solutions, and distance solutions.

Why this rush, and offer that expires at the end of March 2024? This doesn't sound like the NHS to me...

I have a friend who will telephone for me. She rang the number on the letter, but was told it was just for appointments, nothing else, and I would have to wait until I got an appointment letter which would be soon.

When friend related this to me, I expressed my concerns about this whole thing and the rush. But my friend insisted this was amazing this offer of the cataract operation coming through so quickly, and I should accept it and go ahead with it etc etc. She cannot understand my concerns, and reluctance.

It is less than 3 weeks ago that the Specsavers optician said I had cataracts in my right eye. And that the sight in my right eye had dramatically worsened (but her equipment kept steaming up making everything blurred).

And the biggest thing is as far as I am concerned is that the sight in my right eye is no different than it was about 5 years ago (my current glasses are 5 years old and the optician always said they didn't need changing, and I have an eye test every year), the sight in that right eye always has been a bit blurred.

This was just the regular yearly eye test, not because I had any new problems with my eyes, because I don't.

St Paul's is this coming week. I am working out a list of questions for them today, which I will print out, and just hand it to the specialist.

This letter really has upset my digestion...

They dont grit our road, which is unclassified for the next 1.5 miles in both directions but now a rat run, the locals go fast on ice, come down the hill passed the house and can't stop for the bridge and Z bend and hit the bridge parapet.

I haver never hit the bridge since 1966 when we came here.

One day a delivery driver left the dentists and turned left and went straight through the bridge parapet..he can't have been looking and the road was still frozen in the shade.

Good outcomes all round and being able to get a good nights sleep must be marvellous. I think that Mrs Miggins will be using ATS in the new year as she gets 10% discount for holding a Blue Light Card. Your church groups sound like a real haven in a world going mad.
