What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.7

The guy was round last night, talking about the work that it's been done on my bungalow next week, and as he was leaving, he said what are you doing for Christmas day? When I said I was having a peaceful Christmas day, no family he asked? They're all a distance away I replied. Right he said my partner is cooking Christmas dinner, and I'll bring you a plate on Christmas morning. This is despite him having 2 extended families, children and grandchildren, parents on both sides, and a nearly 90 year old great aunt who caught the plane from Minnesota to Ireland, and then Ireland to the U.K. just to be with them for a month over Xmas...

He made me smile.

Right, badgers and the swing now...
I have taken the large cushions and covers off the swing. For the last few days I had nothing else but cardboard on the swing. Then I put some new cushions and new coverings on the swing, but not right to the edge so the badger cannot grip as easily.

Pa badger (I called him KissyKissy last year because it appeared he was always trying to kiss Cat Midnight, who objected) started this behaviour last year and his son this year is following him. I do not need a whole tribe of badgers on my swing.

Big Ted (a few of you may remember Big Ted), now reappears on the swing. The easiest way of sorting out Big Ted after Pa Badger damaged him last year was to buy an 8-year-old boy's hooded onesie from the charity shop and put that on him. Big Ted looks a bit like an airline pilot from a World War I plane now.

But unfortunately you will not see him on the general trail camera videos because I have had to tie him to within an inch of his life to the far back of the swing to stop Pa Badger from yanking Big Ted off the swing.

If this strategy to keep the badgers from getting on the swing fails then I give up...

Two videos in one here
One min in all
First 30 secs is everyone ignoring the new cushions etc on the swing, apart from Foxy Loxy who had a look on the swing. Second 30 secs is a reminder of Big Ted's life on the swing from photos (I haven't figured out yet how to get the full photo in the video!), Pa Badger (previously called KissyKissy) pulling Big Ted off the swing, and Big Ted now in what I call his aviator's suit...he is a shadow of his former self, BUT he is BACK!!!

Creative... I am enjoying doing these Chinese sketches in my kind of way on SketchClub app, and I will probably do these for a little while now. They are easy on my hands to do, like a meditation and exercise for my hands, and they are also easy on my eyes, because of not too much precise detail. I am looking for ways of making sure I don't spend too much time on my tablets, which I do do currently...

Have your best kind of day.

Time for a cuppa!

6.0 this morning though that is a test done on a different meter than the one I have been using as my GP has dropped the test strips from my repeat prescription for some unknown reason so have had to use one of my old meters.
We are mostly sorted for Christmas though the food and other sundry items on order from Marks and Sparks are yet to be collected.
A crate of Trappist Rochefort beer from Belgium yesterday for some reason one of Keiran’s favourite beers I may try a bottle or two though I more of a wine and spirits person myself that’s because I tend to take getting in the spirit of Christmas literally.

Right he said my partner is cooking Christmas dinner, and I'll bring you a plate on Christmas morning
Tis the season for the kindness of strangers, indeed...top fella

And so far, so good for operation 'deny badger'

Aww poor ol' ted.

However not sure I'd be turning left OR right as I enter the plane, if I spotted him in the pilot seat.

( Must be my dodgy eye, but one look & I see his nose, another look and it's his mouth wide open..like a scream... )

Have a good un, @gennepher

No idea why they don't just provide the tools to keep us as healthy as possible & less likely to clog the hospitals with unnecessary patients...

But your post above got a winner for making me chuckle

Bottoms up, ol' boy.

Two cracking little pics.

Both so serene in their own unique way .

Sure you're both oblivious to the skills you have, but I'm always impressed at how pleasing to the eye you both can make such simple supplies, manifest themselves in such a vivid 3d visual display that most days really pops out from the screen .

Cheers guys

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.8

To be honest Me, me’s and myself cannot keep up to date with all that is being posted at the moment, in in my defence I do try.

Mrs J has left me unsupervised at the moment, but with a task list that appears to be longer than a giraffes neck. This coupled with Mrs J’s ferocity means I will have to appease the mighty Mrs J, know what I mean Brian?

I hope all your festive plans are progressing well and you see the bright side of life. Go placidly etc etc.

Now the giraffes neck list has to be tackled or misplaced.

Misplaced is favourite.
Time four koffy.

Hand and foot note, being unsupervised the music is turned up loud and a relaxing Vaughan Williams “ Lark ascending “, is playing, don't panic Ozzy Osbourne’s “ Crazy Train “ could be next.

Love today's art

I really like the Raw Sienna sky in your painting @dunelm

No, the yellow colour is not OTT, because that is exactly what I see when I look out in the morning, in the skies around here, it gives a weird sort of glow to the sky....
Enjoy that coffee @dunelm
Thank you @gennepher, the koffy was good. Taking about sunrises, we sometimes get this some mornings.

What a lovely kind person to offer to bring to a bring you a plate on Christmas morning.
Love your painting @gennepher

Yesterday's blood glucose was 6.4. U surprising after huge meal and dessert before catching the ferry.
We both tested negative for covid again, but i felt unable to engage properly with my family (no hugs or kisses please) Such a shame to miss out on cuddles with the four month old baby.
Forgot FBG this morning.

What a smashing bloke to think to bring you a plate on Christmas Day. Another smashing Chinese landscape, very calming and pleasing on the eye.

Thank you @jjraak

5.5 this morning.
Am really enjoying my break from teaching. It is so lovely to catch up on everything and it feels really good to sort through stuff.

I found 4 textbooks at the bottom of my magazine rack. They had been buried under a pile of paperwork that I hadn't had time to sort out for ages. I had been searching everywhere for them so am really pleased that I have now found them.

I hope that all is good and that you are both covid free for your family gathering.

Morning diabetes massive from a colder (wind chill?) and darker start to witals Friday in Sleepy Joe's aircraft showroom. The nukes are (not so secretly) stashed underground whether UK plc like it or not - non negotiable. There's a limit to what you can control Jake (and assorted howlers at the moon) as Cnut the Great knew very well. @SlimLizzy good news on the negative tests but hug for the no hugs. @dunelm Raw Sienna is beyond wonderful - can't say I've ever seen sky or land forms lit in that colour in the Fens but it is obviously a thing. Good news on the sourdough and Reblochon - freezes well if one over caters (a friend said ) Your locale sounds and looks like the Northern redoubt of the Padstow, Southwold, Abersoch, Betws-y-Coed set (pretty sure I'd blend in seamlessly until I spoke) If none of that makes sense, welcome to the last two decades at least - although some Coloradans are very sagacious folk.
Edited: The Sienna is uncooked not burnt

It is indeed the season of kindness @jjraak

Now you mention it, and I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me...
I took the photo, and so I know full well that is Big Ted's nose. But when I posted it on Instagram first, and then replayed it, I am thinking what the hell happened there, it looks like a red screaming mouth....but it doesn't on my iPad's bigger screen...

Maybe his outfit is too tight for him...I did have to squeeze his bits and pieces into it...

Thank you so very much for your compliments @jjraak
