All human life is (t)here. I never properly adapted to London and find it best observed as anthropology but fair play to you guys and gals who love it. Well done for phoning it in. I assume some world weary officer shrugged and said not another one.Afternoon.
Morning fbg taken 9.6...mmhh
Looks like after a 2 year sabbatical it's the long road back for moi.
Odd thing happened this morning
Exited station.
And what I thought was a young lady engaging in polite conversation with an Uber type food cyclist, was, ( a fact revealed by noticing I was seeing the actual crack of her bottom) the young (early 20's I'd guess) rather attractive young lady, was being offered the coat of the Uber delivery guy, because as she turned around to proclaim her message, I could she had inadvertently got dressed in the dark and put on her one button birthday suit....silly girl, but we've all done it, right ?
Said gent ( for he was) was proffering the coat so she could cover herself up, as it was freezing at 630 am .
She declined repeatedly.
I could hear her passion as she proudly exclaimed we should all be 'free' like her , as she held her hands up, loud & proud
While Uber guy was trying to cover her up, I made the police aware.
She didn't seem it, but she may have suffered a spiked drink last night, had too much of something dodgy or be suffering some mental issue
And could I concede, just be making a valid point.
But not willing to risk leaving her to frostbite (ouch) or stray hands, it seems I wasn't the only one to call & report.
Police & ambulance arrived promptly.
So I do hope she's ok
And if making a point, waits until warmer weather at least .
So far the most peculiar day of 2024...not sure I'd have had that on my 2024 bingo card....lol
Win for the toeless socks improving things & the expected delivery of DW.Just back from town, diabetic foot check done - I still have pulses in my feet, albeit faint because of all the fluid round about. Not that the feet are as swollen as usual - the funny toe compression socks (like fingerless gloves but for the toes) seem to have done some good. Bought a new dishwasher, which will be delivered tomorrow (and they'll take away the old one).
BG at 0345 was 8.9. Insulin, breakfast, tea, pills and off to town. By the time I got back, I was feeling a bit odd and starting to feel a bit hot, then I started a slight tremor. Checked BG - it was 3.3. Time to take remedial action. One of the advantages of wearing a Libre sensor, is that it warns you when BG is dropping too low. My last sensor wouldn't talk to the monitor though, so I've had to go back to the fingerpricking business, which I don't do very often.
Good to hear. Thanks and thank you also @dunelm @gennepher and @alf_Josiah The process is fine, I'm sitting here in a comfy chair drinking coffee having eaten babybels and a not cross bun. All good in this hood thanks. I hope the new dishwasher is fab-u-lous.
So kind hearted of you, to try to squeeze in a little time for them.Yesterday I was so lucky. I am at my limit workwise and cannot take on any more work as I teach 6 days a week.
Then I got an email from my local vet asking if I could run classes for them at their premises as vets do suffer from back pain.
I really wanted to help as they are such lovely people and offered them 9pm after my local Wednesday classes or before they open on Friday mornings.
Thank goodness these times didn't work for them as I really don't think that I could have coped with the extra work.
Yes, me too. I knew that Borg was connected to Star Trek but haven't watched the programme since about halfway through the first series, but Derek's meaning was pretty clear. I never had much time for it but if it has helped people in their lives, good on it. I know that the JW organisation does split families - Tom's remaining sister has been a member for many, many years. Her adherence was traumatic for her family but luckily, their love for her made sure that they stuck it out and now that she is very elderly and seriously disabled, it is her family that make life manageable for her, not her JW "family".The context alerted me to the meaning Derek attached. What I hadn't realised was how widespread was the usage. This - especially the JW part - is fascinating despite me internally shrivelling at the connection or even mention of that b programme.
Interesting composition, enjoy the sunFbg not taken it as no sleep, but no nightmares...
Will catch up on sleep later...
Creative is just me playing in the SketchClubApp.
No meaning to be found in it...as far as I know...
Wildlife nighttime video.
Midnight checks on Cat Jade - Fox also checks on Jade but she's gone hunting
21secs
The sun is out
Weather app says no rain
No sun in my garden yet, sun is too low in the sky...
BUT the tops of my willows are catching the sun and I can see silky silvery catkins forming...
Have your best day

Thank you @ianpspurs - keep warm@gennepher and @dunelm thank you both for sharing those wonderful artistic gifts with us. @dunelm what talents you have, antennae as well. Aha, off to the land of Erling the Goth (AHaarland?) - norway Jose. Mine's the grey 982 tog duvet one with the scarf and Ushanka.
Good that they are taking away your old machine - saves so much bother. Hope your remedial action saved your bacon - talking about bacon - a couple of slices would probably do the trick when squeezed into a slice of bread or two.Just back from town, diabetic foot check done - I still have pulses in my feet, albeit faint because of all the fluid round about. Doh! Of course. The mindless JW machine organisation that feeds itself and frequently deliberately lies.
It should not have charitable status it could easily be not qualified be a charity and the government should get it's funds and divide them amongst the nations food banks that are not sectarian in their help
But it's not my work it is God's.
D.
Top marks for phoning in and good to know your eyesight is working perfectly well, even in this chilly weather.Afternoon.

Yes, it is so easy to stretch ourselves too far. I agree that god moves in mysterious ways to protect us from ourselves sometimes. I was very definitely protected from myself. So kind hearted of you, to try to squeeze in a little time for them.
Very easy to stretch ourselves too far when keen to help others.
Rather pleasing the times didn't suit , god moves in mysterious ways to protect us from ourselves sometimes .

To me sci fi, particularly Star Trek was my getaway from real life and the message embedded in the majority of episodes, gave me hope, when the world was imploding around us, believing that there could be better out there, than the poverty, discrimination, hate and war.The context alerted me to the meaning Derek attached. What I hadn't realised was how widespread was the usage. This - especially the JW part - is fascinating despite me internally shrivelling at the connection or even mention of that b programme.
