What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

All human life is (t)here. I never properly adapted to London and find it best observed as anthropology but fair play to you guys and gals who love it. Well done for phoning it in. I assume some world weary officer shrugged and said not another one.

Win for the toeless socks improving things & the expected delivery of DW.

Hug for the low.

Thanks and thank you also @dunelm @gennepher and @alf_Josiah The process is fine, I'm sitting here in a comfy chair drinking coffee having eaten babybels and a not cross bun. All good in this hood thanks. I hope the new dishwasher is fab-u-lous.
Good to hear.
Hope the trip home is hassle free.

So kind hearted of you, to try to squeeze in a little time for them.

Very easy to stretch ourselves too far when keen to help others.

Rather pleasing the times didn't suit , god moves in mysterious ways to protect us from ourselves sometimes .

The context alerted me to the meaning Derek attached. What I hadn't realised was how widespread was the usage. This - especially the JW part - is fascinating despite me internally shrivelling at the connection or even mention of that b programme.
Yes, me too. I knew that Borg was connected to Star Trek but haven't watched the programme since about halfway through the first series, but Derek's meaning was pretty clear. I never had much time for it but if it has helped people in their lives, good on it. I know that the JW organisation does split families - Tom's remaining sister has been a member for many, many years. Her adherence was traumatic for her family but luckily, their love for her made sure that they stuck it out and now that she is very elderly and seriously disabled, it is her family that make life manageable for her, not her JW "family".

Interesting composition, enjoy the sun

Thank you @ianpspurs - keep warm

Good that they are taking away your old machine - saves so much bother. Hope your remedial action saved your bacon - talking about bacon - a couple of slices would probably do the trick when squeezed into a slice of bread or two.

Doh! Of course.

Top marks for phoning in and good to know your eyesight is working perfectly well, even in this chilly weather.

Yes, it is so easy to stretch ourselves too far. I agree that god moves in mysterious ways to protect us from ourselves sometimes. I was very definitely protected from myself.

These diaries from Amazon are not very suitable for old guys who find it difficul walking 100 yds. I would find it very difficult when I realise they sell me one for half a year when I read different when I bought it.

24/25 spend your summer getting your b*m numb and cold on the PIGS .

Just when I had made friends with the phrase leaning in I now need to befriend leaning out Must be one of these opening near you soon - watch out for the sweatshirts @jjraak. @dunelm stay where you are and you'll be very safe. Top word, a gather - isn't that for cattle/sheep pre-winter in harsher climes?

To me sci fi, particularly Star Trek was my getaway from real life and the message embedded in the majority of episodes, gave me hope, when the world was imploding around us, believing that there could be better out there, than the poverty, discrimination, hate and war.
I became a trekkie because it was a example of how we should behave to each other, treat each other, live together, work together to achieve the future for our grandchildren.
Science has embraced the ideals.
Pity politics hasn't got even close.
I've always been proud of being a trekkie!

I know nothing of the JW.

6.8 pre counselling and only an hour back am very tired.
Mrs L is resting after galivanting around for a couple of days.
Got her ears lowered at last, after getting her ready for over an hour, her pushalong is a godsend, no more push and pull, when holding on to me.
A couple of accidents and a bang on her knee, as getting her off the floor has become a new event here. Always making sure, I don't hurt myself in the act.

The day started wet but soon the sun was shining, a little cool but a dry day, walking back from hospital, it got really cold. The spring bulbs are really massing now, the garden is hopefully gonna bloom. Frost is not gonna happen!
It will!

We all do too much, and part of anyone's dream is not.
But we can't help ourselves.
We have to show that we care.

My best wishes to you all as always.

Just got a look at my recent test results. Not as good as I had hoped. Cholesterol up, Creatinine up, Gfr down, Weight slightly up this week as well.

Must have been slipping without me realising it so must tighten up control - cut carbs even further. Trouble is, the diabetic team keep telling me I should be eating more carbs than I do. I know they are wrong but I still, every so often, think I can just get away with a bit more. Bad me! I'm old enough to know better. Think I may have to go carnivore for a while and not even have the carbs in vegetables. Carnivore is very expensive though.

Not the best month to think about having a more expensive WOE. Neil is currently taking the old dishwasher out of its position so that it is ready to be collected tomorrow and the space ready for the new one to slide into. Turns out that he decided to get the simplest one for me - not the one with the internet connection (why would I want a dishwasher connected to the internet?). It's a Hotpoint and the cheapest by a few pounds of the 3 the shop had in stock. The cost wasn't the selling point though, the simplicity was.
