stunning artwork.Good morning from a brisk and breezy morning here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.9 this am - woops! Apart from the gusts the morning is bright and clear. Washing bedding. (Disclaimer - I didn’t load the washing machine). Took washed bedding out of washing machine and put in tumble dryer. Later - a great big ball of a duvet cover stuffed full of damp sheets and pillow cases because someone, someone, forgot to fasten the buttons on the duvet cover after removing the blasted duvet (please read disclaimer, above). Art bit - a 2” brush, a 3” brush, a sprinkle of salt and some scratches from the edge of an old credit card. Hope your day is OK and that the wind is not causing too much grief. Not planning on going out today so best make some more koffy.

No bad thing, I'd say.Meong/mung
Shame about the cookies - in so many ways - as the NY one really clarifies the context of and backlash against what Coslett is on about.@ianpspurs
Interesting post on guardian.
Had forgot about adventure play grounds.....happy days.
Quite liked her post
The end of day dance sounded spot on.
Play areas, not so much.
But when we took Steph & young family members out, I don't remember whacky warehouses etc, when I was a kid ....
As you say a different world.
Didn't read the NY links...too many mandatory cookies for me .
So that's where the rot started.Never mind the problems we who are basically (patiently or not) waiting for the guy with the scythe, it seems Millenials inhabit a far more complicated world than we Boomers. Huge respect to them for not just curling up in the foetal position in some corner and whimpering.all day This piece of nonsense alone makes one want to hug them and tell them it is ok, I’m here.* “When my body budget was in a deficit,” taken from here which itself was linked from here. By and large when our kids say you don’t understand how things are now we simply really do have no idea. We genuinely live in very different worlds.
* Alternatively they may just need a little Meong/mung - go google it or just go to a staring cafe (New word s'ont? so don't?? no, just a typo)
I love parenting books. But only if written for parents by their children's grandparents. The rest make very good kindling and can be obtained very cheap from charity shops. Dr Benjamin Spock said, “they should be fed when hungry”. He also said that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the phew!Never mind the problems we who are basically (patiently or not) waiting for the guy with the scythe, it seems Millenials inhabit a far more complicated world than we Boomers. Thank you @Lamont D - I am still undergoing training on most white goods. Our kettle is red so I’m fairly OK with that.stunning artwork.
Fail on the washing, classic mistake, I think on most duvet, duvet covers and other bedding should be washed seperate. Impressed if you have a setting on your machine for duvet! Usually, not on most!
Quite rightly too .Than you @ianpspurs. Consultancy in this corner does not include washing, ironing, shoes or handbags.

Spock has plenty over which to hang his head in shame. Whilst not completely agreeing with Larkin in This be the Verse he was definitely on the right lines and we Boomers clearly made mistakes. Is it just too old-fashioned to think that children need to know what the boundaries are so they know when they are pushing against them? Children, I think, need to have some measure of discipline so that they can learn to discipline their own behaviour. Discipline doesn't mean chastisement, of course, but they do need to know right from wrong.Spock has plenty over which to hang his head in shame. I suspect there will be a generation who claim to have alternative rights. I'm waiting for one of my grandchildren to tell someone, politician like, I don't accept that. I'm spending record time being good, in fact I'm world leading at being good.Is it just too old-fashioned to think that children need to know what the boundaries are so they know when they are pushing against them? Children have the right to learn to respect themselves. That is not the same thing as being self-centred. I suspect that many of the 2 generations after mine, don't either respect others or themselves, or truly love themselves or their lives. But, I suppose I am ante-deluvian at the very least.I suspect there will be a generation who claim to have alternative rights.
