What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Well did sleep a little did get woken at six but no cuppa blood sugar test was 6.2 surprisingly anyway phone almost oh of charge and no where to plug charger so am switching phone off to conserve battery.
A silly one, but I found having the phone available an immense comfort.

Aside from easing the boredom just being able to communicate & receive good wishes, hugs etc, left me feeling less isolated .

Something I certainly didn't expect on my stint

So I was grateful to able to charge mine easily.

( Nb..my lead was lent out daily, as most had the short length one, which allowed charging from wall, but was too short to allow use of phone while charging.

I'd suggest buying a longer lead for the mobile asap, for just such a situation.
And in case of an extended stay, an eye mask from Amazon..

Trying to sleep under hospital lights not ideal.)

Best of luck today @JohnEGreen .
More power to you AND your phone

Guess us silver surfers are less like the dinosaurs so many people seem to think we are.

Respect bro'.

This is the same sketch as yesterday, but within the app, I have added the oak tree, and added the hazy tops of the trees in the background.

I did that with layers within the SketchClub app which I used before and it was a bit fiddly because the oak tree had to go behind all the silver birches and although it doesn't look it, I spent an extra hour on it to get the oak tree with that effect. I learnt quite a bit with this, but I am not sure I want to spend the time each time doing something like this. I prefer the rapid line sketch (it literally took a literally took a minute or two minutes to do) although the rapid sketch could be used as a base for anything later on. So, this is my creative.

I have half of mind to find an app that has a Sketchbook, I used to have one long time ago, and keep my collection of digital sketches in the sketchbook, so I can flick through it when I need some inspiration for something.

I always have my mobile phone with me and it is much less obtrusive doing sketches on that then it is actually having a Sketchbook and openly doing sketches of someone which people may object to.

Morning all. The only pertinent topic today is to support @JohnEGreen by good wishes, thoughts and especially if its how you roll prayer. Ultimately later this year put your X in the best place to end this S show. Last week I saw the NHS at its best and today's Drip Trip will be as comfortable an experience as it can be due to the kindness of strangers though I know the nurses well by now. Their pay and conditions are a condemnation of the prejudices, priorities and values of a noisy section of society and John, like many another, is a victim. Get mad but quietly determine to get even - peacefully by the power of your vote. Take the image of John in that corridor into the voting booth.
Top post @ianpspurs

Bravo.

Very effective @gennepher

And a very informative post.

Thank you for it.

Brilliant sunshine with a stiff breeze, but rain expected this afternoon, led me to chase MrSlim out of bed so as to facilitate bed linen laundry at a totally (un)reasonable hour. Obviously this depends greatly on point of view. 9.30am to me is late. For MrSlim these days it's early. A symptom of his CKD ?
Have been reading previous posts, trying to catch up.
@JohnEGreen hope the problem with the stent got sorted out and you will be home soon.
@Annb such terrible medical service where you are. Do hope you have managed to get a doctors appointment or at least a prescription by now.
Today back out in the garden. Still weeding the same bed. Plan to plant garlic and shallots if I manage to clear enough going today.

Good morning everyone on what I hope will be a better day for you today @JohnEGreen and also for you @jjraak. No idea what this leap day will bring - out this morning running an errand for someone and radio presenters were getting all excited about it. Dear me. Art bit - I came across a couple of fountain pens and half a bottle of blue black ink yesterday. So, doodle on a bit of paper, a light spray then left to dry - added a couple of bits with a brush pen and then some watercolour. Hugs for all in distress and all the best for the drip trip @ianpspurs. @Annb not very good med service for you so hope it gets sorted out. I need more koffy.

Wow, this Art Bit is a lovely surprise after reading your description. I really like this technique @dunelm

@dunelm and @gennepher thank you both for so generously sharing your art. @JohnEGreen I hope that by now you have been able to charge your phone and either offered a drink, been taken to or given a theatre time and/or moved to a proper, dignified place. God bless and keep you now and forever John.

Only recently back from town -weather horrendous. Wind almost blew me over as I struggled down gthe ramp to the car. Neil had offered to bring the wheelchair in and take me down the ramp but "Oh no," says I. "I can manage." Bit of a shock when the freezing, wet, icy blast hit me and I struggled. but the wind didn't win and I kind of threw myself forward into the really strong blast that threatened to topple me. I was reminded of the time, years ago, when we had hurricane force gusts and my mother fought her way into it to reach our front door (the old house on the croft, before we built this one). She leaned right into it at an angle of something like 45 degrees from the verticle. Then she came into the shelter of the building and fell forward, face first, into the mud. She wasn't hurt (the mud was soft and wet) but her dignity was somewhat impaired. I don't suppose our hoots of laughter helped. Anyway, I didn't fall face first onto the concrete.

BG was high this morning but it dipped to 3.4 while I was out. I had my emergency supply of h/m oatcakes, so that was OK. Oddly, it was only when I got home with BG in the 4's that I started to shake and feel cold.

Alistair couldn't get to the pharmacy in town yesterday before they closed, but Neil did get it today. Then found that the funny toe compression socks that I had been told by someone from the pharmacy were there waiting to be collected, had been sent to the health centre for me to collect there. Left hand/Right hand?

JohnEGreen has been in my prayers for days. Obviously I don't have enough influence "up there" because his experience has been so distressing and stressful.

Praying now for a speedy end to the hospital experience and a quick recovery,John, and soon home to be comfortable in your own bed.

Wishing @JohnEGreen all the very best and the horrific circumstances.
My DiLs are both nurses and our hospitals are currently full to capacity. The board Have tried to I created capacity but can't due to cuts, no staff and funding restrictions.
The NHS is on the brink of imploding and the Tories don't care cos of the private hospitals.
Over Christmas and New Year, most of the private hospital are closed.
God thing our health only suffers from 9-5 on weekdays when there is no major holiday!

6.8 this pre counselling session.
It seems that my anxiety isn't as bad as It was, so my counsellor says. No sense in arguing, but I do seem to be spending less time stressing. But it's not a thing you can measure that much.

Had #7 & #8 around teatime (dinner to the posh posse) #7 is riding her big bike and impressed me, #8 is now watching on his tablet, many things and for a two year old, is putting me to shame about tech.

Mrs L has had another quite day, except for her pad. Which by my beloved account turned itself off, and won't come back on!
I have no idea either!
However,
I think I've got it back but not as good as it was. I hope.
We'll see.

My prayers are for John.

My best wishes to you all as always.

I have one regret....
After posting late last night, I had an early night.
If I had known that John was still on line, I would have stayed on line myself.
My apologies to you mate.

@Annb
Who knows how much influence prayers have? Without them the experience for @JohnEGreen might have had a far different outcome.

Good morning everyone on quite a sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
St David’s day so hope all Welsh have a smashing day - eat gingerbread and marvel at displays of daffodils.
Watched the first two episodes of the newly made series ‘Shogun’ directed and starring the brilliant Hiroyuki Sanada. Looking very good if you like this sort of genre and can keep up with the subtitles for all the Japanese dialogue. Art bit - Indian Ink with a bamboo dip pen, a spray of water and a smidgeon of watercolour. Hope your day goes well. @JohnEGreen, I hope that you are comfortable.
