I always thought that a vivarium could be either closed (sealed) or able to be opened. I could well be wrong and what I have is something else, because it can be opened.If a vivarium is what I think it is and completely sealed @Annb then it would outlive you. No care needed as long as you keep the seal in place and never open it...

Unfortunately my mother and Mrs J’s mother are no longer with us, luckily Mrs J is a mother and a grandmother, I must add also with a wicked sense of humour which is being passed on to her grandchildren.

Not all death & murder, last night's was a simple tale
In a part I was riding down a sloping road..young lady crossing with her dog, undecided what to do so she dithered in my path .
I drive through and she just drops the lead, no one hurt and I drove/cycled on
Next part she's coming up the hill furiously looking for me.
For some reason I'm carrying a cat and desperate to avoid her.
I could walk down one of the side roads and avoid her, but I decide to go up the hill on next street.
Cat is struggling to get out of my grip, so I release it telling it to hide, I'm frightened it will give me away......I wake up in dread.
How stupid is that.
Likely that stress impacted my morning fbg ?

MrSlim says he can always tell when i am having a tidy up and clear out because the mess gets worse. It sounds as if your situation is similar. I'm sure you will find a way to create a sleeping space for your daughter in the weeks available before she arrives.I fully empathise with you in every way @SlimLizzy
Daughter from Australia had said she was not coming over this year, but would come next year.
Great, I thought, no visitors for a year, and so I can upend my bungalow and do a massive tidy up, clearout and reorganisation...it was going to take a year...
But then I got a message from daughter in Australia last week...
"Mum, great news, I am bringing some of my students over to UCL in April, and I can stay with you first week of April. See you in a few weeks."
Paralysed with fear doesn't even begin to describe how I feel.
I haven't a cat in hell's chance of even making a space for her to sleep in. I had repurposed the old quilt and old covers I use for her for something else, and I was going to get new ones for next year.
I have come to the conclusion I am never going to move from here (I am happy enough over that) and so that initiated this great ruthless upending of everything and clearout and reorganisation, for the next 20-30 years (if I live that long, it might only be 10 years, but my birth family all lived to nearly 100)...
My brain won't work. I am asking it what can I do as an interim measure, to make this even half acceptable to let a visitor (my daughter) in. Don't ask me says brain.
I thought I had a year at least to do and complete this massive task...
I am currently in bed sleeping. I did do food shopping and a couple of tasks this morning, and came back frozen cold (that wind is bitter), and very tired.
Brain is being a little cooperative saying, well if you do these quick line sketches when you go out, and no painting (that can take a couple of hours for one painting, although it is my relaxation). And brain made a suggestion how to do quicker video editing, just for the moment. See, I have given you an extra 4 hours in the day,says brain...the rest is up to you.....
I did do some quick sketches of Flint Castle this morning....
To be fair MrSlim is usually useful, but i simply couldn't see the urgency to renovate one of the wagons. A task that took up nearly a week. As for night time gardening - no seeds were planted but I did go out to the greenhouse and light a couple of tea lights to provide a little heat. Keeping them enclosed in old fashioned clay pots turns them into mini storage radiators.Now no rushing out during the night with a bag of seeds and a dibber. Thank goodness that MrSlim is now promoted to useful

An hour later I gave up trying to sleep...
So I make a fresh flask of tea.
Did some sorting out and labelling.
Took blood glucose reading at 3.30.
Back in bed.

Creative - this was a quick line drawing from my car in the car park last week when I went for that meal. It was a very foggy day. The weather app had said 'light mist'!!!
As a line drawing it wasn't very successful in my eyes, and as I was still awake, I had a play with this sketch further in SketchClubApp this morning to create a bit of colour and a feeling of mist. I am quite pleased with the way this has turned out. There were two gaps in the hedge below the lamp which made me think of Narnia. It took about an hour!
See if I can get a bit of sleep before daylight...

Great colours. Can see you had fun with them.Good morning everyone on a damp squib of a start here in the dark and dangerous north. ‘Tis mother’s day - I must go home and visit my mum. It was done virtually, about an hour ago using the power of zoom (they live in the future in France). We don’t have a mother church, not being of that faith but all the best for those who have. Anyhow, happy Mothers Day if you are a mother. Interesting day yesterday - farmer’s market was well attended - I just bought my usual two loaves of real sourdough. No kimchi - we have loads. Breakfast club celebrated its first anniversary - a cake was cut - not for me thanks. Called into the food bank and popped a donation into the box. Walked home. Dinner out celebrating a birthday. Home in time for tea and medals. Today, meeting two of the offspring for a late breakfast. Table booked to avoid disappointment. Took some hot and spicy red pepper and tomato soup out of the freezer - we can have it this evening. Art bit, some new pigments to try out. Hope you enjoy the day. I shall slurp koffy and pretend it’s fancy wine.

Am pleased that you are ok ish. Had been wondering how you are getting on. Hope to read of an improvement and return to home soon.Just a quick visit to let you know I’m ok ish still in hospital not been my best couple of weeks so far have now been put on waferine so not allowed out till they get the dosage correct.
Cauliflower mash works well as a topping, esp with a bit of cheese added.What a lovely gift, AnnB!
I top fish pie with very thinly sliced leeks, then top that with cheese. Works really well. I buy leeks any time I see nice ones and slice them and freeze them in advance so not too much work when preparing the meal.
