Creative... I got sent a set of three felt tip brush pens, different sizes from thin to thick.
This is my first try out with them.
I used cartridge paper.
Big mistake. it was too absorbent and the pen ink went through the other side. I feel like the pens won't last very long at all on this type of paper.
I just googled to see if I could get some more of the same pens (because I like them), but they've already sold out.
So my next sketch, with these pens, will be on a smooth non-absorbent paper, like a manga paper or a Bristol board.

The pigeons have just broke my bird table.
Mr. Heffalump came in along with Mrs. Heffalump and baby Heffalump. They all tried to land on my tiny bird table together.

The bird table question is actually a lamp uplighter that was in my front room before it went on fire. I carried it outside while it was still on fire at the top, this was many many years ago. I am probably not the most sensible of persons....

And I converted it into a bird table.

It has been perfectly adequate for small birds until the Heffalumps came along...

Today's job is repairing my bird table...

Have your best day.

I think it's time for food now...

Smashing

Good afternoon everyone from a wet afternoon in the dark and dangerous north - arrived home with minutes to spare before the rain fell. Smashing birthday yesterday and thank you for your birthday wishes. Spent most of the day at a place called Packwood House, a restored Elizabethan house with wonderful gardens. Daughter in law made me a Burned Basque Cheesecake as a birthday treat - very low carb - very high in cream cheese and cream and not as burlesque as it sounds. It was wonderful spending time with three of our grandchildren and their parents - “So with our children, their growing up brings wider fruits but their infancy was sweeter.“ Seneca I think. Art bit, quick sketch of one of the many topiaried Yew trees at Packwood House. Hope you have had a good day, thoughts with @alf_Josiah for slaving away learning new domestic skills and Mrs J for the pain and anguish in seeing the kitchen deteriorating into chaos.

Yesterday sounds like a wonderful day and the cheesecake sounds delicious, time for a google. Thank you for sharing the art which did remind me of an Oppenheimer test - sorry. I hadn't heard/read that quote before but it echoed my thoughts from Saturday. We were at a fifth birthday party and I was struck by how parenthood had mellowed and developed our boys and some of their friends. The obvious reciprocal love brought back fond memories.

who mentioned cheesecake again?

It is really beautiful evening, now that the grandkids have gone home.
Mrs L has gone for a pre meal lie down.
so much energy, the grandkids, not Mrs L.
I must plead guilty to being extremely last this morning.
I had a full nights sleep with an extra hour (or two, but who is counting?)
It was 9.10am, the first time I viewed the clock.
shocking!
I feel ashamed.
I also feel the benefits from being slothful.
now to use that energy doing kitchen duties.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who are living in interesting times. Blood sugars this morning were 6.1

Here in Tilehurst Towers we had our first political canvasser at our door yesterday afternoon. I answered the door with a plastic scythe in my hand, then proceeded to show him the skeleton part buried in Mrs J’s front weed patch, blast the spit chequer kicked in just then, I meant to write garden. He left very quickly. I wonder what party he represented.

Last Thursday night Mrs J was duty driver for a group her old friends at a 60th birthday party, unfortunately Mrs J fell and broke her wrist. We finally got home at 5:30am on Friday morning with Mrs J’s wrist in plaster. Such is Mrs J’s disposition, Mrs J organised for her passengers to get a lift home as well. The party was 10 miles away.
Interesting times pah….

Now it is time to go and complete Mrs J’s list of tasks specifically written for me, me’s and myself to lose.

Have a good day, stay safe all.

Yes dear, coming

Edit
Mrs J broke her wrist on Friday night, not Thursday and we got home at 5:30am on Saturday morning.

Plot lost big time.
Oh no - I do hope Mrs J isn't in too much pain today.

Creative...one line sketch of a woman in a long skirt, outside Poundland.

Now, I am confused. A few days ago, someone on Ancestry contacted me, because there was a connection in our DNA's. Further communication ensued. We are connected on the father's side, and she is first cousin 1x removed.

Some years ago, when I attended my Aunt's funeral, in church, my cousin, her son, tells me that my Aunt is my birth mother, and that he has placed my cat paintings that my Aunt loved in the coffin and had dressed her in a favourite jumper I had knitted her, and that he was in fact my brother. And he squeezed my hand tightly. I will never forget. My cousin/brother died shortly after, he had cancer.

But this DNA test connecting me with this person who lives in Arizona, then shows neither my father who brought me up, nor my Uncle who my Aunt (my birth mother) was married to were in fact my birth fathers.

So, currently I am looking at the possible few candidates in the family tree. To my knowledge I have never seen nor met any of them.

My head is spinning and tinnitus is screaming non stop at me. I have known I was the family secret since my father that brought me up, married my evil stepmother, because she nagged and nagged me over why I was the family secret, but I did not have a clue then how I could be a family secret...

I need something stronger than a cup of tea this morning...although I shall start with a cup of tea...

Have your best day

No wonder you're confused @gennepher
If it's any consolation (it probably isn't) these situations are not uncommon.
I was a family secret myself and the last to know of course.

Sending you hugs for the confusion and thanks for the video and illustration. They're much appreciated.

Monday's FBG, 4.6 mmol/L on waking at 6.00 am.

Thank you @LivingLightly
Yes I realise these family secret situations happen more often than we think. And it can have a negative effect on people like you and me, whatever the initial circumstances whether accidental, deliberate, no thought of consequences, or just messy life's events etc.

Thanks, I am grateful for the appreciation of video and illustration.

But this feeder was up the garden, so not very clear, but a nice shot of him hovering in flight.

Creative...with the 3 Kanji black felts, thin, medium, and the wide flexible one. It is on smooth Bristol Board. The scribble at the left side is just me seeing which size pen I have... need to label them.

I was just doodling this in the early hours. A friend came online who I knew I could talk to about yesterday's events.
I am using voice to text, so I could doodle. It was really me just scribbling, not drawing definite lines
My friend listened, and some more stuff has been said since by this person in Arizona. So, I told her that.
My friend listened to my thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and more.
She came up with her thoughts about the messiness of life's events. And possible scenarios of the past and why. And I gave her my thoughts.
I could say everything I needed to say to her about all this, without holding back.
It was a safe space for me.
And I am doodling/scribbling this picture all the while.
My friend gave me a strategy for today and further questions to ask this Arizona lady.

I am in a much better place this morning.

It is now time for a cuppa tea.

Have your best day...
