Good morning @dunelmGood morning everyone on what looks to be a pleasant sunny day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.8 again this a.m. Packing. Is it too early? Mrs Miggins has been packing for a week and we don’t leave the house until Friday afternoon! I’m re purposing my brolly - from now on it wants to be known as parasol. Funeral this morning - don’t know the person but it’s a local Veteran and he needs a fond farewell. Anyhow, art bit - tree/bush/plant. Hope your day is a kind one. Now, onto important things, koffy.
Thank you @gennepherGood morning @dunelm
An impressive bushy tree...
Caution: don't go all Trumpy out there ...In this close and area one most certainly is. one Nation under God. Just in case anyone forgets look at the hardware but keep your noses out of the nukes underground.
Thank you @ianpspurs and pleased for you that the Jarlsberg drought is now over. It’s quite usual for Veterans to go and see a comrade off - and importantly for those who may be alone. Happy Birthday to #3 son.Good morning all from a glorious start to the day here in L.A. King's speech day. I'm no monarchist but God bless him and Kate, cancer ain't funny even in a Palace. It is also the end of the great Jarlsberg drought here as well as a day of reflection since it is the birthday of #3 son - 1992. Being a rum cove I awoke (sorry Alf, sometimes the w word has to be used) with the idea of Adam sitting around a fire toasting marshmallows, turning off his tablet and phone, sipping something or other, stroking his beard while saying sagely don't make the mistake me and your made made - listen to The Boss. Surely would have saved an awful lot of pain and misery? I'll leave it with you - idea for a niche TV series perhaps? I blame watching The Good Life before nodding off for that - no idea how they are connected. @dunelm thank you for the art and what a splendid thing to do for that veteran. @Annb well done EM for cleaning the car. I'm not sure about bob a job. My grandchildren are scouts/beavers and I like the idea of service to the community but without the fund raising edge especially the sticker displaying you paid. Anyhow, there is still tea to drink, the clock doesn't yet stand at ten to three, I abhor the taste of honey but Granchester is still delightful (and posh) - we'll ignore Jeffrey. Is that version of England ok for you @Lamont D? I doubt Rupert and co had almond milk or sourdough/Keto toast though. Peace be with y'all - yeehaw

Cat & Badger stare at each other...
Cat (Midnight) is shocked Badger is on the Swing, then Badger and Midnight stare at each other. Midnight is not going to move off the swing, then Badger realises he has to move, but he cannot jump off the front of the swing because ginger cat, Chunky Marmalade is directly under him (I accidentally deleted that bit of the clip because I am learning some new software). And the Badger has to climb over the back of the swing to escape, and Badger goes up the garden and comes back towards Midnight because at the back there is his exit and entrance point...

Creative...A Kaleidoscope in Laboscope of a beach parasol which is up now even at 8 am because the sun is already too hot for the more sensitive plants.
My kitchen has a build up of heat (as does my bedroom) and my ice maker is having problems making ice in this warm/hot kitchen. My fridge and freezer both need assistance with a fan...
And I have just signed an online petition because our council is considering a 4 weekly black rubbish wheelie collection. How ridiculous. Already there is more rubbish dumping. And the council have closed their rubbish depot depositing for two days a week, and have come up with various rules and regulations on which days you can take certain items, but you have to telephone in advance to make an appointment to take the item. Because I cannot use the telephone, that is me scuppered. And there were some online reports, this week, in a neighbourhood app I use saying that people were getting rubbish dumped in their back gardens, their back gardens backed on to a public alleyway.
I can see me bringing the bonfire back...

Ours do similar, but it's all online @gennepherAnd the council have closed their rubbish depot depositing for two days a week, and have come up with various rules and regulations on which days you can take certain items, but you have to telephone in advance to make an appointment to take the item. Redwing have a very prominent eyestripe that is quite striking. Song Thrush do have do have rusty underwing with nowhere near the prominence of the red on the wing of redwing.Thank you @LivingLightly - I did think it early in the year for Redwings as @lindisfel indicated- small thrush looking with rusty red flashes as they flitted about - just the two of them.
Thanks Ian...@gennepher (and @dunelm ) thank you for the good wishes for our baby - all 6 foot 4 and proportionally built of him. Fenland food is good stuff all three flourished on granddad's fruit and veg, JKP's cooking and a supportive Christian community. Thanks be to God. Hug for the issues with that bungalow - are you also going to have summer 24 later this week? - nightmare for you I imagine. Hugs in advance. Also hugs over the farce of waste non-collection and the chaos that will undoubtedly ensue. Thank you for sharing the kaleidoscope which has made me think about my reaction to colours and patterns in the grand scheme of things. Isn't art meant to provoke? Have as cool a day as possible.
We are as well as can be expected Ian, but I am afraid old age has caught up with me and I am not sleeping. Life has loaded us down with problems.Hi Derek and good to see you here. I still follow his videos and dip in and out of his blog. I read his lent anthology and God willing will once again enjoy and find new insights from his Advent anthology. I'll add another person I follow here. I use his site as a starting point for pericopes I find puzzling. I hope you and Marjorie are keeping as well as possible. Peace be with you.
That is both sad and so kind of you. For my part I would say with hand on heart that your faith and obvious love for Marjorie, your girls, your family and community have been an example I would feel richly blessed to even come close to matching. I may never have met you but the inspiration is very strong. I'm glad that there may have been some point to me at least for someone. One body, many members. God be with you now and always. We are as well as can be expected Ian, but I am afraid old age has caught up with me and I am not sleeping. Life has loaded us down with problems.
I will always remember your Christian input Ian that made the forum so enjoyable.

Hug for the strip issue tempered with winner for time spent in the garden and especially on the lawn. We agree on lawns. Your list missed traditional cricket teas, with trifle obviously and we need pubs like a fish needs a bicycleNo FBG, no strips left!
Surgery has deemed that I don't need to use so many.
I have phoned and used my persuasive attitude, to get access to a dovtor, to ask why someone changed the amount without my consultation or my perm and agreement.
We shall see.
Garden duties have had me busy except for an hours fun with #8.
Lawn now done and tidying up sorted, one of my bushes needed a trim.
Was pleased to see and he gave notice that he was on duty this morning, for Charlie's chat to the elected.
My nephew sent a couple of pics of the rehearsal yesterday.
Gotta go, kitchen duties.
We all have an idea of English culture, we have a multitude of diversity in all parts of our country.
But honey isn't anywhere near my idea. It is awful.
Fish and no chips, is mine.
Footie and cricket for some, rugby for others.
The pub.
The primary schools.
The small shops.
The youth clubs.
The family.
Being a good neighbour.
Many more.
That is why the tories have done so much damage to our England.
A very cheery beech brolly kaleidoscope - is it summer yet? Our council refuse disposal centre has required pre-booked slots for a few years now but at least we can go online and book a slot.Fbg 6.8
