You are doing brilliantly @Lamont DOnce again, busy day, cos of the intense pressure to get things sorted, I used my persuasive skills for Mrs L to hide in bed today. Mind you, I had nearly completed my daily chores, and I needed some me time to finish the decorating and start to get things straight again.
Which I'm chuffed to say I have done.
Yes, it is intense heat today. My thermometer is boiling away at 27degrees. But there is no t much wind to cool the garden sun trap, Rain overnight not much. But didn't hear no thunder. Beautiful blue sky. Or the Greek used to say Bronze.........!!
Gonna sit with Mrs L in the shade after tiffin. Haddock tonight.
When I went upstairs with a cuppa earlier, Mrs L asked what I was doing?
I replied, not much.
Take it easy, Mrs L said. But don't be sitting in the sun all day!
No dear, it's too hot!
I did have my decorating shorts and t-shirt on with smears of a shade of light blue!
Its funny whilst I was glossing the mantelpiece, fire surround, Mrs L hasn't noticed it being so white!!!!
I do hope you are all ok, and thanks for the support and really kind words. Hopefully, I might get more time to go through the thread tomorrow.
My bestest wishes and hugs for th the lot of you as always.
Stay safe, stay warm.

Problem yesterday meant my black ink hand painting did not work.
I had five canvas boards.
I was going to do some black Chinese in painting on them using my hands.
Problem.
It was 29° C.
And so the black Chinese ink dried on my hands in the nanosecond it took me to transfer my hand to the canvas board.
Tried every which way....
I did do some stuff on the canvas boards, but it is not finished and not what I had intended to do.
I did manage to do some paintings in my sketchbook with the black ink on my hand.
Next problem was trying to get the ink off my hands because it had been on it for so long, in that heat, as I was painting for quite awhile with my hands.
When I was a child, I used to have those delicate black or white lace gloves. Do you remember them? I could do with a black pair now.....
And so, my creative is one of the paintings I did in my sketchbook with the black ink hand painting, and also with the blue shop towel I was using to mop everything up. I was getting painted everywhere, and I turned that into a painting implement because there was so much ink on it.....
Waste not want not...
It was thunderstorms and rain, but now the sun has come out and I am going out there to paint again, I enjoyed yesterday afternoon even though every painting and idea I had was a mistake, I could see ways of using it and having fun with it, but it is not what I intended to do. I should never have an intention when painting because it never works out and always goes badly wrong. It only works (usually)/when I just leap onto the blank page with free abandon....
Now, have your best day.
Leap into the unknown with free abandon...go into and with the flow...

You have a great ability to cope and for acceptance. A great inner strength.I can move again. By last evening I was beginning to feel less painful when I tried to move and overnight the worst of my arthritis flare-up has passed. I can stand up and I can crab my way around the house. This is the way these flare-ups usually go. Only problem is, I never get back quite to where I was before the flare-up. Still, why complain? This is just pain, not life threatening. I've got off very lightly really - just arthritis and T2 so far. I've had cancers but they have been diagnosed early and dealt with so other than being a bit battle scarred, i haven't had any long-term effects. Eyes are a bit dodgy but better than most at my age. Someone "up there" has been very good to me and I'm grateful. I just wish others could be so fortunate.
Managed to scramble some eggs, load and start the dishwasher and make my own tea this morning.Appointment for blood tests, urine sample and rebandaging of my tree trunk-like legs today, so better get going.
Thank you @gennepher - three weeks? I have to go out and see what my neighbors are doing to remember what to put out every two weeks! Short term memory problems and some short term memory issuesI forgot about the lorry cavalcade this morning... @dunelm what am I going to do when it is every 3 weeks?
Great trees...
I did ask Em but she's never heard of Plan B. Alistair has though, but doesn't think much of him. Guess he is just not to our taste. Each to his own.Ask Em if she knows who Plan B is. According to the comments below the video he is a massively under appreciated genius. I'll leave it with you but judging by the Eurovision, BGT and X Factor winners (not to mention Guns n Roses) he definitely qualifies.
Good read. Not sure about good quality, high polyphenols making one cough, £30 a bottle might. Should also buy it October/November soon after pressing. This is in a tin and on sale in August so probably not worth the money according to that article. Useful. @Krystyna23040 do you swirl yours like a good cognac and do you have apple with it? Probably don't use this one to soften your ear waxFor those slurping on olive oil, a little something from those folk at Zoe
Agreed, bruised is better, but still painful and total recovery is still about three weeks. Will have to tell grandchildren to hug gently.Only bruised is good - house sale viewing can steal away huge chunks of your days but as you say, fewer tasks, less time indoors.
Our worries are our worries @SlimLizzy, and as important to us as anybody else's are to them. Not knowing when, or if, someone will turn up wanting to see into all the nooks and crannies in your house is a nightmare. I remember it well from 1974 when we sold our house in Dumbarton to move to the Islands. 1974 and I still remember it. Marketing and selling a house is one of life's great stressors.Agreed, bruised is better, but still painful and total recovery is still about three weeks. My problem with preparing for house viewings is that the first was unscheduled- "can we come in twenty minutes?" Leaving me feeling a bit paranoid, could this happen again?
So small messes that would normally be ignored are now pressure points.
Have been on a marathon weeding session. Only about two metres left to finish weeding the entire drive. Of course it won't stay weed free for more than two days, but I can enjoy it looking clear for the first time since forever.
I do appreciate that my worries and concerns are small potatoes compared to many others here.
Perhaps it's because we don't get enough practice @Annb. I have family and friends who have moved so often I've run out of space in my address and phone book and had to revise the format on my PC just to accommodate the changes. Not knowing when, or if, someone will turn up wanting to see into all the nooks and crannies in your house is a nightmare. It might be. When we were in the military, we moved roughly every two years. Married quarters had to be handed back in pristine condition. This meant filling in any holes made from hanging pictures and then painting the walls. Toothpaste makes a good filler!! We have had four moves in civvy street - apart from some minor (to us) hiccups, we don’t find it much of a stress - must be all that practice.Perhaps it's because we don't get enough practice @Annb. Thursday's FBG, 4.6 mmol on waking at 6.00 am.
If we all do 10,000 steps each day, drink olive oil and consume Barberry, ginseng, bitter melon, ginger, cinnamon from Ceylon, sage leaves and eat Waitrose salmon, 30 mixed seeds, pulses and wild partridge feathers - will the benefits outweigh the cost or is it all tax deductible?Morning all from L.A. on what will be another sunny day here. Two grandchildren here most of the day and a rare visit for #1 granddaughter and #2 son later. Face to face consultation this afternoon rescheduled for next week as CT scan analysis not ready. Is no news good news, who knows. Another known unknown is my fbg. Having analysed the Zoe Olive oil talk for y'all here's more health/wellness related information/opinion/advertising? It does all seem to support the notion that at a population level money buys extra years of healthy life . New York Times view on salmon. Quite reassuring as several posh UK restaurants/chefs have taken it off the menu. NYT is a good read, I have subscribed this election season. This on UPFs may be useful or worrying but here is a UK alternative take on the better UPFs - seems heavily slanted to Waitrose so a note of caution needed. Enjoy your Friday - big choices here, salmon or turbot. Oh the stress of it all.
Wow, that white brush pen is very effective in your hands. Smashing piecesFbg 6.8
All stray cats and birds (magpies and pigeons included) disappeared with the heat yesterday, 29C. Midnight disappeared all day as well. He emerged at sunset. Came to bed with me and hogged my fans and misters. This morning I woke up early, my round the neck fan seemed to have stopped working.
Battery run out?
No.
Just Midnight hogging the fan with his nose right over the fan...
