What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It might be. When we were in the military, we moved roughly every two years. Married quarters had to be handed back in pristine condition. This meant filling in any holes made from hanging pictures and then painting the walls. Toothpaste makes a good filler!! We have had four moves in civvy street - apart from some minor (to us) hiccups, we don’t find it much of a stress - must be all that practice.
Yes for us marching out of married quarters involved the SWO and a pair of white gloves God help you if there was a speck of dust any where even down the back of the toilet cistern.
I think in the time we’ve been married Judith and I have moved house about 15 to 20 times. We have led a rather nomadic life.

Fbg 4.3 this morning.
Warm sunny morning here but rain forecast for about 9 AM.
Keiran’s new bike came yesterday one he had put it together he took it for a quick spin about 13 miles he recons just to try it out.
Yesterday goes down in my diary as a good day almost pain free and managed over 3000 steps sat out in the “Garden” between showers, today have my 4th appointment of the week at the doctors.
Hope you all have a great start to the weekend.
Haha, Keiran sounds like a man after my own heart.

Nice when times are tougher to put a tick in the positive days, column.

4 appointments in a week is a tough old run @JohnEGreen .

You must feel like a pendulum, swinging back & forth between the surgery and home.

Good luck with today's visit .

If we all do 10,000 steps each day, drink olive oil and consume Barberry, ginseng, bitter melon, ginger, cinnamon from Ceylon, sage leaves and eat Waitrose salmon, 30 mixed seeds, pulses and wild partridge feathers - will the benefits outweigh the cost or is it all tax deductible?
Frankly my dear, I've come back to my original opinion on the healthy eating/wellbeing front that it is almost certainly all a load of cahones. Matthew 6 :27. Elsie Keto has made me quite (well more) cynical - cui bono? I appreciate the variety of opinions and ways of handling the lifestyle conundrum here but the most parsimonious summary seems to be you do you - (just don't harm anyone else in the process) You can't take it with you so spend it on what floats yer boat - even if that's sausages or, God forbid, black pudding:playful:

Good morning everyone from an all things bright and beautiful start the the day here in the dark and dangerous north. One of the twins is wandering about with the magnifying glass from the boxed OED checking that all and sundry are actually closer than they appear. Meantime, a Brillo train track is being constructed faster, cheaper and with far more consideration than a half scrapped HS2. Plan A for today is to take scooters up to a local skatepark once everyone is up and breakfasted. Art bit - oh well! Have the best day that you can, I shall drink koffy, take pills, finish hanging washing on the line and chuck any notion of petty annoyances or minor obstacles into the bin.

@gennepher hug for what I assume is an unpleasant time in that bungalow during this warmer weather. The winner is for continuing to produce your daily creative in ways I may not really understand but I appreciate the time, effort, positive effect on your wellbeing and just "the journey" in their production. @JohnEGreen yesterday sound like a very good day for Kieran and yourself. I'm so pleased for you and hope you too have a great start to the weekend. Stress over here, turbot it is as I found it in the freezer first.
Thanks @ianpspurs ,with me posting each day, you see all my work, unfinished, completed, failures etc. At one time, I would only post if finished, never a work in progress. Now, you see works as it progresses. I may never finish it, or finish it at some later date...

Love your tree @dunelm

BG was 9.2 when I gave up on getting to sleep at 01.30. Came through to the kitchen, typed up some of the thoughts that had been whirling around in what passes for my brain these days, took some paracetemol to ease the joints a bit, had some warm milk, went back to bed. Surely to sleep this time, but no. Gave up again at 03.30, came back to the kitchen, tea, watch TV (that usually puts me to sleep but not this time), little jobs around the place and eventually breakfast at about 08.15. BG still in the 7's. Insulin to cover pea, spinach and lettuce stew with 2 eggs poached in it. Did some cooking (ratatouille and cut up some experimental halva that I made before my arthritis hit to take to the family I am visiting this afternoon and packed it in a container). Now there are dishes and pans to be washed and I'm beginning to feel dozey. Typical! There's probably time to have a short sleep before getting ready to go out.

When my TENS footpad thingy arrived, I read in the instructions that feet not only have to be bare, but also damp when using the equipment. That just isn't going to work with my legs and feet swathed in bandages. Usually I do have one night without bandages because I take them off on Wednesday night and get them replaced on Thursday morning For the next while, though, I have been asked not to take them off so that the swelling is controlled all the time until we can get back to some kind of normal. Anyhow, the instructions say the device should be used for 2 half hour sessions each day. That's not going to happen so the thingy is going back to where it came from. Royal Mail (Alistair) should pick it up tomorrow and send it back to Amazon.

Thank you for sharing the art. Enjoy this precious time with the girls. Will you be trying out your ollies, heelflips, Caballerial's and other tricks? There's being inspired by the Olympics then there's just being silly. Fortunately Mrs Miggins seems to have you under manners :playful:

Our worries are our worries @SlimLizzy, and as important to us as anybody else's are to them. Not knowing when, or if, someone will turn up wanting to see into all the nooks and crannies in your house is a nightmare. I remember it well from 1974 when we sold our house in Dumbarton to move to the Islands. 1974 and I still remember it. Marketing and selling a house is one of life's great stressors.

At this moment my main worry is how to get to sleep. I've just spent an hour and a half on my bed, keeping my eyes shut and hoping for sleep but I've given up, got up, made some hot milk, took some paracetemol for my arthritis and am about to start writing down notes on thoughts that have been churning around in my head for the last 90 or so minutes. A combination of the 3 remedies might put me to sleep.

I hope you manage to seep well tonight. Sweet dreams.
@Annb Thank you for your kind words and maybe you could try this trick to stop churning thoughts. It does work sometimes. Try to think of random, non associated words.
Harder than it seems at first.
Eg: horse stable not allowed
Horse hotel not allowed
Horse cucumber ok
Hope this helps.

The actual moving part is ok. We have moved multiple times over the years. It's the selling part that is stressful. Every time.

My mother has type2
I cringe at her breakfasts;
Sliced banana with grapes/ strawberries.
Although she eats very little bread, rice or potatoes and never pasta. That is as far as she will go on LC.

Good read. Not sure about good quality, high polyphenols making one cough, £30 a bottle might. Should also buy it October/November soon after pressing. This is in a tin and on sale in August so probably not worth the money according to that article. Useful. @Krystyna23040 do you swirl yours like a good cognac and do you have apple with it? Probably don't use this one to soften your ear wax
No I definitely don't @ianpspurs :):):)
