@LivingLightly you are so right. This is why it took me so long to get out of the house. Just one more thing to do first.... until it was getting ridiculous...
Also about home grown. Many fruits and vegetables are now grown in hydroponic factories, this has a serious effect on flavour. Produce looks wonderful, esp. Tomatoes but taste does not live up to expectations.
Local tomato factory has plan to extend, but there is a lot of resistance. Will cover altogether 20 hectares of land with enormous greenhouses. It operates 365 days of the year using infra red lighting in winter which is visible for miles. We are about five miles away but can easily see them.

Enjoy the Whistleton Crown, you deserve a relaxing break. I hadn't heard of the Chestnut Group so thanks. Obviously I know the Old Bridge Hotel Huntingdon best..The Huntingdon menu seems as "aspirational" as I would expect for that Town - more on that later, perhaps. Whistleton food sounds divine. I hope the coffee is good for you - I'd look for Dilmah tea personally

I have just received from Amazon 2 items, one of them I ordered and am happy to have received it. The second was a thing I guess is called a Vape, which I did not order, did not want and do not want in my house. I have searched the Amazon site but nowhere is there an option either to contact them directly or a Help option for returning items that have not been ordered. I wouldn't bother about it - it's their problem and, if it were not this product, not mine. But I have absolutely no idea how to dispose of it. It is electrical, so can't go into the normal bin, but it is full of whatever the chemical is inside it, so should it go into the electrical waste? I don't suppose it is a major problem but it is irritating and shows inefficiency at Amazon, shows that someone, somewhere, is waiting for this thing to arrive, and that Amazon has no procedure for covering unusual problems that they may cause. I've checked the box on this thing but there is no indication on it of how to dispose of it when you want to other than a recycle sign.

Your local recycling might take them, or you can put them in a battery recycling box at the supermarket.
Best check your local rules first.

This is all a botheration which takes at least a morning to sort out, and it wasn't your problem in the first place.

I really cannot see all those vapers disposing of their product responsibly, can you? They will just go in the street litter bin.
 
Here there seems to be quite a business in the sale of lost or undelivered packages. Sold by weight with no description of contents. A modern form of lucky dip.
But looking at the metres long stall piled high and the large van delivering it's a shocking indictment of the inefficiency of the postal delivery service.

I asked Neil what he thought and he managed to get it apart. The battery is in the electrical recycling box now and the rest, being plastic (including 2 phials filled with padding soaked in some kind of scent) but no indication that it is recyclable, is in the general rubbish bin. It was raspberry and strawberry flavoured and the smell from it was quite pervasive.
 
Not sure if brushing ever stopped but it definitely "had a moment." I'm tempted to file that "slight of hand" alongside the claims for the 2017 inauguration crowd size. We, well JKP has, have had all sorts, mostly useful for us or family including gin and wine.

Amazon do not supply vapes containing nicotine you can dispose of it at a local tip.
 
Thank you for sharing the wonderful creative. My opinion counts for nothing but I like this the best of this series. It seems to me that you have mastered the medium and the message in this one I'm not sure what the message is though - tranquility? You may well feel differently but them's my onions. I hope you enjoyed the process and it delivered, ideally exceeded, whatever you hoped it would emotionally and visually. I know the creative process balances life's slings and arrows for you and this heat must be providing plenty of those. Take care.

I have one more in this series, partially prepared for tomorrow morning, not finished it yet, not sure how to finish it, and then I'll need to start a new series/set of paintings...

I can only add, that you've done that young man & his family proud with how you've lived your life since then.

Can't have been an easy call for them or any in such positions, but I imagine they take comfort from the gift of better life to someone in need, who shows such respect for their precious gift.

For how you have handled and approached all this .

Yes, I know there are others helping, but we both know that at the core, it's for us to make our peace with what is, and treat it as we see fit.

And I for one can't fault you .

Accepting its a challenging foe, and carrying the heavy burden it must lay on you, with such grace, that inner steel clearly on show.

And embracing the fullness of life in all its magnificent glory, regardless.

Such a joy to hear that literary large exhale of a held breathe, in your post about the results, speaking volumes of well managed tensions.

We all consider we hold firm, and we do.
But inside we know there are moments, a few when we tremble at what might be & how little power we truly hold sometimes

Blessed are we, when the darkness turns to light, once more.

Thank you so much for those kind words. Bearing in mind my location Aw, shucks, you can't mean me seems appropriate. Before I knew just what the problem was I had an inkling and freely told God I wasn't able to cope with this on my own. The strength comes from God not in any mysterious way but through JKP, our boys and grandchildren. The quiet time I have each morning "rolling the wicket," drinking tea, sitting with the dogs, listening to devotional music, reading and reflecting on the C of E Morning Prayer (BCP) has been and remains vital. As I quoted this morning and will continue to quote. Psalm 44 v 3 - and no I don't always manage that first off. We have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Once again, thank you for being so kind but the strength and praise lies elsewhere.
