What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I am sorry to hear about your dad @dunelm
Unusual looking tree @dunelm
Looks like it has stomach ache...

I hope you find a good cafetiere.

Thank you @ianpspurs
Actually I live on top of a little mountain range, but really it is just a big steep hill....

Sorry to hear about your Dad, @dunelm. It is inevitable and we all reach the same stage eventually, but it is hard on the whole family. Hopefully his last days will be peaceful and comfortable in his own home in the bosom of his loving family.

Thank you @ianpspurs

No FBG today. Up too early. 5am
Dashing round house trying to leave all tidy, because there is a house viewing this afternoon. Last minute check in bedroom. It's still dark. Lights on and immediately a hornet flies in through the window MrSlim opened for fresh air. Slam window. Find spray. Dodging the madly circling hornet to do so. Oops it's gone inside the light. Argh! There are three of them in there. Spray anyway which produces frantic buzzing. Enventually stops. Bedroom now stinks of insecticide. Cant take light down now. Or open window. We should be leaving. Now.
Repeat process of hornet removal in kitchen with additional hazard of cat who has to be deterred from chasing interesting buzzing object. Now we are late. Light on upstairs. Unlock rush up and switch off. Finally set out over ten minutes late.
Got to ferry port and almost immediately called to board. Phew.

The woolen football stockings full of holes sound as uncomfortable as the woolen swimming costume I had as a child.
As I have said, cos so close to the coast, my school as a junior was next to an indoor baths built in the 1890s.
And it was a standard joke not to forget your cossie, cos the only option was woolen ones, once bitten, twice shy.
I'm my bag, cos we went there nearly every school day. My spare cossie he would always be.

So sorry to hear about your father @dunelm.
I cannot add more than my sympathies.

@JohnEGreen great to get out and about. Enjoy it.

6.6 what?
Yep second reading ten minutes later, same finger 6.7 (yay!)
I do feel better today.
And a better night.
Mrs L has also had a better night and morning, tho she did ask me with her second cuppa, When did I get home from my conference?
Obviously, I let her down easily. Cos I haven't been anywhere.
Done usual chores and shop, avoiding the constant showers.strong winds, cold air, heating came on automatically.
Turned Lancs cricket on, on YouTube. Playing in @dunelm territory, Durham, short sleeves, bright sunshine, lovely day. Didn't expect that!

The big question in parliament today is the pensioners heating allowance.
I will tell you the solution and it so simple. And won't cost the earth and will work.
But of course, no one listens to logic.

Raise the limit threshold by enough to include the million pensioners that are in that number it has effected.
Raise the pension credit threshold.
Either way it will work.
The threshold on all benefits is not fit for purpose.
It will still be targeted and means tested.

FYI. I will still not qualify, cos of my company pension.

The only other simple solution is for the power companies to reduce those bills by three hundred quid for every pensioner.
But that won't happen either!

Have your best Engerlander, footie nite.
My best wishes to you lot as always.

After school, The Girl In The Bubble and I went shopping for a replacement cafetière and she chose this one because it’s green and also because it’s made of steel and grandad won’t be able to break it - that of course sounds like a challenge! I like it because it’s double insulated.

Thank you @Lamont D.
A sliding threshold for the likes of carers allowance needs introducing instead of the current cliff face.

Ordered 2 pairs of glasses (luckily a 25% discount for buying 2 at a time) but the report wasn't in from the opthalmologist so the optician couldn't advise. No idea what the delay is in sending out a report. Never mind, I daresay it will do me no harm to wait. The 2 pairs of glasses are the same prescription but one pair have dark lenses to try to stop me having to shut my eyes when there is anything like brightness in the sky or if there are lights on indoors.

Looks very stylish - Gen Z into Millennial tastes. Would adorn a Glamping Yurt nicely. Seems a tad W*** for you sir if you don't mind me saying but TGIB clearly has exquisite taste. Hopefully it will provide years of use and pleasure. Please tell me you avoided the reflex response "how much?" even sotto voce.

My varifocals have a natural tint built into the lens, it saves on buying more sunglasses.
But because, I wear these glasses, I have an issue with using my pc.
There are certain things I can do better on my pc rather than my pad which I use for here.

Hope that they do the job for you.

Omg, what a moment to happen....

But I gave a Win for making the ferry in good time

Safe travels

I did ask about varifocals but the optician said they weren't much use in the car, which is the only way I can travel around now. They wouldn't respond to changing light levels due to the polarisation of the windscreen.

Judith's do and as a clinical typist she is working on the computer all day.

It looks brilliant @dunelm !!!
She is a good chooser...

I can't remember the polarisation of glass in vehicles.
But the make up of most vehicles have a level of tinted glass in most all but basic level of design.
The shaped windscreen is designed to reflect direct sunlight, and even some of the more expensive ones have a design to go more tinted as the glass heats up.
How did he know about your cars design?

They usually want to sell varifocals, as it has a hefty profit margin.
