What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a dry and breezy but acceptably mild (because no heating was needed overnight or from 5.00 am), at least indoors, L.A. If anyone wonders what my fbg may have been they will be none the wiser however diligently they enquire. @gennepher thank you for sharing another example of your creative gifts. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art, pointing me to a poem I'd never come across and reminding me of the phrase professional northerner with all that stereotype implies. Didn’t the Monty’s definitively debunk that long ago? @lindisfel wonderful of you to pop in and I'm not surprised it is cold for you in Cumbria. @SlimLizzy good news on the pasta. @Krystyna23040 nice fbg and I hope Poppy has fun with the ball and hall. Is the we Mr K as well and does he stay somewhere for the duration of the class? @alf_Josiah nice board game reference. Meanwhile, the VEEP debate passed off without any damage to the main acts. Vance tried to sell a version of Trump bearing no known resemblance to reality, mainly one imagines to position himself for a run at the big job in 2028. Here I helped #1 grandchild with his homework last evening despite it being maths. I am pleased he is apparently in the top set but with his dad being an MSc and his maths ability I can’t help feeling the gene pool must have somehow been badly corrupted or I’ve failed:nearly as woefully as them supporting the Woolwich Nomads - nearly. Fitbit tells me I need to do steps. Have as good a Wednesday as lies within your grasp.

Thank you @ianpspurs - we learned that poem in school - for reasons I have yet to fathom.

Thanks .dunelm, yes, I have problems and went to sleep reading the posts.
Life is a struggle at the moment dunelm.
D.
Sometimes, words arranged in a certain order can have that effect. It would be somewhat better if this global warming malarkey raised the temperature just a tiny bit up in the north.

Like this colourful tree @dunelm

One third watched Ludwig last evening - swapping between that, football matches and NYT so a 3 screen event (tv, chromebook and phone) which may have affected the experience and my opinion. Seemed to me a sub-optimal Professor T for sleuthing and Granchester for views of Cambridge. Also can't remember why but the actress playing his SIL annoyed me from some other role so that was always an issue. Them's my onions anyhow. JKP quite liked it so 3 screen option seems the diplomatic way forward.

Another 7.0 this gardening day.
Sun is out after a cool start. In fact for a change I'm not moaning about it.

Mrs L is obsessing again about stuff that was binned years ago, claiming that there was inside them her valuables etc.
Can't win, when Mrs L is like this.

Just a quick visit today, hoping @lindisfel is ok, colds, appointment, and the usual stuff, we go thru.

It is #5 grandkid birthday today. He is now a wonderful twelve year old.

Best wishes.

Happy birthday #5.

Happy birthday to #5. Hug for you @Lamont D.

@Annb I forgot to say why I gave you a hug which is due to the early waking. However, you seem to feel the cold is easing and may disappear soon(ish)
Thanks Ian. The cold is definitely on its way out - still sneezing but the sore throat has become tickly. That does mean more coughing, but it doesn't hurt so much. Good signs of recovery.

Happy birthday to the chap at #5

4.8 this morning. I'm sure I'll get that too high with an ill advised breakfast.

A picture of Whitby Abbey for unrelated reasons. View attachment 69975
Hi @Biker, here is a recent image taken by a local drone pilot of a new art installation at Whitby Abbey
