6.7!!! High for me. It is what it is, I've no.idea what is in the food I'm eating. Hubby (non diabetic) up too. Nothing to do with his cocktails I'm sure!
DAY 6 - CORSICA FRANCE
Stunner of a port. And just a hop skip and a jump to the town. We just walked though!
First thing you see is a small market, but I caught a glimpse of a little train through the stalls. We love them as they give you a good idea of what the town is about. Booked for the longest option. 1 hour 30 minutes.
Well this has to be the busiest little train we have ever been on. Lucky to get a seat we said to each other, smiling smugly. Every man for himself. We bagged 2 seats at the back of the first carriage.
It set off. The commentary was in 3 languages but we were cracking up as the English guy was VERY broad Yorkshire. no offence to my Yorkshire friends! Just that that never happens.
It seems this little train is a coastal run. With a 15 minute stop to see Napoleon's statue. We hopped off, took some photos and meandered back to the train.
Well 3 little old ladies had taken our seats. No problem, we sat in the next carriage. A young Italian lady (I use the term lady in the lose sense of the word!) Came over to us ranting and gesticulating as Italians do. Even though I got A * GCSE Italian I was clueless as to what she was saying. Obviously not the kind of words you learn for your GCSE! We pointed at the 3 ladies saying that they had taken our seats. The 3 ladies ignored us and pretended to admire the scenery. They couldn't pull the wool over our eyes. We went over to them. Shouted OUT OF OUR SEATS- NOW - MOVE IT!!! obviously that isnt what happened. We just moved seats like little lambs. Thinking 'karma' and sure enough when we next stopped the Italian lady banged her head on exiting. I then did a hop skip and jump!
Rest of day passed without further incidents. Walk around town, back to ship. Our usual routine. Cocktail x 2 for Eric, glass of wine for me whilst I write my postcard to my auntie (sending one from each port). Back to room. Balcony, chill, shower and dinner. But wait, it was FORMAL night otherwise now known as wear your best. Yippee. Long black sparkly gown and diamante time. Down to the bar area. . I was the only one in a long gown! It seems formal isn't as formal as it used to be! So quick run (as fast as you can in in 5 inch heels) back to our room to do a quick change. Fortunately the leg rash had faded so didnt feel conscious in my knee length dress.
