Am so glad son2 decided to bring his American fiancée here. For a while I thought he would emigrate. This seemed more likely because one nephew has already done that. Married his American girl and emigrated.
Hope your sisters and their families will be ok @dunelm
Thank you @SlimLizzy - will just have to wait and see what happens in the coming months.

Really good news on the COPD and your ankle healing so well. As with yourself and @gennepher I find I can only sustain rib cage breathing by fully concentrating on that only. Google suggests singers breath this way. Perhaps we should all join a choir although they'd soon ask me to do the breathing and just mime silently.
Yes, I do have singers in my classes and they have no problem at all with ribcage breathing all the time.

I would not be accepted by any choir either. I failed the audition for my school choir and my daughters begged me never to sing along to the radio if we were givIng any of their friends a lift.

5.6 this morning.

Relaxing and reading in our warm and cosy conservatory. Not too much admin to do today as really sped through the admin at supersonic speed yesterday.

So more time relaxing on my recliner with a coffee. I have the perfect excuse - it's part of the recovery process for my sprained ankle.

Good morning all from a quiet, dull but mild enough not to disturb hive from its slumbers morning here in L.A. I don't know my fbg nor so much else far more relevant to my situation. @dunelm should I have typed in all caps?, I SAID ALL CAPS. Thank you for sharing the art. I think there was a sermon there. Initially I saw all the grey and my heart sank somewhat then I spotted the fisherman and hope sprang up. At this point I guess I should say brothers and sisters isn't that just ........ except that isn't how we roll here. @Krystyna23040 I'm sure your singing voice is perfectly serviceable, Gareth Malone insists we can all sing. do you think I could sell him a bridge? Post Nov 5th I've read so much analysis and kicked about ideas of "the manosphere," my own idea of masculinity (more highly influenced by my dad and granddad than I thought) and a series on that subject and male suicide by Sir Grayson Perry. I know, I know. At this stage y'all will be feeling deep sympathy for JKP. No need. Why, only Monday I bought her new slippers, what more could a gel want?
Hope you have a good day. For me, that means waking up in the morning and being able to participate once again. Know your limitations and then defy them. Best make some Kofee.
I’ll see your Know your limitations and then defy them and raise you the attached from Psalm 39. For all those worried about family and friends in the USA hugs. After some hand wringing it seems many are feeling they survived one 4 year term so .... hmm. Post hoc and propter hoc aren't isomorphic but there's no covid this time. Anyhow, we're off across the border into Norfolk (Lidl) to find a goose for Martinmas (Old Haloween - who knew?) - goose fat for Christmas roasties - then it will be super salmon salad and rugby. Plenty to be thankful for there. How about you? I SAID HOW ABOUT YOU.

Good morning everyone from the wonderful silence of early dawn here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this am if anyone is checking. We was a good chap yesterday; pensioner portion for lunch and soup like what I made for supper. Today the aim of the game is to make sure that I have a clean handkerchief when I go for a hearing test. Must remember to clean behind my ears, one can’t be too careful. Art bit, someone fishing for sanity. Hope you have a good day. For me, that means waking up in the morning and being able to participate once again. Know your limitations and then defy them. Best make some Kofee.
Love your art bit @dunelm
I hope he caught/found his sanity....

I used to sing, both solo and in a choir and was always told to "use the diaphragm" but I think using the ribs came more easily. Haven't been able to sing properly for a long time now because my lungs won't expand enough. Maybe I should make an effort to ribcage breathe again and see if I can get some of it back.

Rather cold here...
I threw open the back doors earlier but closed them after about an hour.

I might be going to look for my heated jacket soon.

My medical suppliers, that come quarterly have just arrived. I have to leave the gate unlocked so I do not miss him.
So I inevitably feel stressed when that gate is not locked. He was a nice lad, and again no one rings the doorbell. I said a while ago I had put alarms on all the windows and the doors so that if somebody knocks then an alarm goes/screams and it reaches my device (I programmed my device to tell me which window/door is being knocked at, each window door alert has a different sound), and I can respond accordingly...

And then I can respond. So this is the first time this system of mine has been put to the test, as far as I know. He knocked on the kitchen door so my device alert told me exactly where to go. The alarm is going off like Billy-o!!!!!

Brilliant, I can do Heath Robinson better than Heath Robinson....

It was also meant to scare away ne'er-do-wells, because of the alarm. And I was hoping it would not scare away genuine callers. So full marks to the lad who delivered my medical supplies.

I have just remembered the reason why I put these alarms up was a particular ne'er-do-well who kept knocking at my windows. He was a chancer and I had stopped answering... but it left me very stressed. I think I mentioned it, I am pretty sure I did, that the alarms on the windows had gone off on the one day, and when I got there, there was no one there. I'm assuming it was him, and he has never been back since. I had said I was calling the police if he came back, so maybe he thought they were police alarms or something on the windows.

But I'm glad it did not scare away a genuine caller, that is the lad who delivered my medical supplies!
He was grinning from ear to ear when I opened the kitchen door, and I did not explain why the noise is going off....

I am going to have a well deserved nap in a minute...

Creative....I am waiting for these inks to dry on this rag paper. It is still too damp to draw on. I have an idea for a drawing on it, so It will be tomorrow before I finish this one...I might even turn the painting round... Or I might leave it as it is...

Hot cuppa tea and an afternoon nap now...

Have your best day...

Good news on the Gen Robinson devices working as intended and well done delivery lad. Thank you for sharing the video and creative: we await the finished version. Be careful with those ideas, they can develop a life of their own.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who have no interest in what happened over the 3000 mile pond. The skeptic in me thinks the British media are once again going for the easy option instead of finding and reporting good positive British news.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.5

Todays tasks were and still are trying to work out why the dinning room radiator is not working, it does not need bleeding, perhaps one of the thermostatic valves is stuck, to get to one of the valves a shelving unit had to be cleared then moved. Another task yet to be looked at is fixing some support brackets, but most importantly is completing my afternoon nap. Zzzzzzz

Hope the radiator can be fixed easily especially by a man of your skills.

Thanks @ianpspurs

The painting only needs a minimum amount of line drawing on it, but if I had drawn on it earlier it would have blurred....

I do not have diabetes
6.6 this festive Friday.
It's not really, but I don't want to burst the bubble for Mrs L.

Looking forward to tomorrow, many going the game, well, they are taking me.
I think there will be at least nine of us there.
And the Tories are visiting as well.
So tomorrow morning is busy shopping and cleaning.
Today is clearing the decks day.
Gonna be fun.

Having a relaxing morning so far, chores done.

Enjoy your weekend you lot, best wishes.

I have had a hard horrible year, along with the majority my hard life.
But I'm not privileged.
Shouldn't my story be on every front page?
Along with millions of others struggling.

I would be really interested to hear how you get on @Annb. Your intercostal muscles between your ribs will be really tight so you will have to start ultra gently otherwise those intercostal muscles will really complain.
