If it comes to that, I'm pretty weather beaten too - just this far north. Lack of pollution in the air leads to more potential sun damage, so people here tend to be either very ruddy complexioned or fairly dark complexioned. In our case though, it's generally wind damage rather than sun damage.Thinking about it, indigenous people from the arctic are somehow sun tanned for the reflection of the sun on ice and snow. Go figure!
Yeah I get that, but for some reason, even though I have lived no more than a mile or so at the most from the coast, I'm not like that, weather beaten I mean.If it comes to that, I'm pretty weather beaten too - just this far north. New Badger on a stormy night
He was foraging around for a good few hours
But he did not turn up the next two nights...

Creative is a kaleidoscope with Laboscope.
I was going to do one of my paintings again, but I had already got into bed for the night, so what to do? I shone a light through my pink water bottle and came up with this flower!
Night night from me
Sweet dreams

What an opportunity to carefully move everything in each room of the house 180 degrees. It's 05.15 and Neil has just left for the ferry. It doesn't sail until 07.00 but he has to be in the queue by 05.45. Between us we managed to get my old mobile phone working, so he can call CalMac or the hospital, or home, if he needs to. So that's me on my own for the first time in 60 years. Quite a new experience. It will (should) only last just short of 2 days, but even so... The last time I was completely alone was ... come to think of it, I have never been without somebody in the house with me, all of my life. First my mother was always there, then Tom, then his mother, then Neil and Alistair, then Tom again and after he died, Neil has always been here, unless he was shopping for me for an hour. My goodness! It will be odd.
BG 11.9 at 03.00 - I rather fell off the wagon yesterday evening so I can't blame anyone but me. Must behave today to get it back under control.
I need a cup of tea. Been avoiding making any so far because Neil couldn't have anything - fasting since 09.00 yesterday.
Alf you are forgiven everything just now. I hope the Morphine induced sleep does the job and you will soon be driven home for Christmas. Take care, though those nurses will certainly do what they do best even though the regular checks can disturb one's slumbers. Oh, and tick the large portion box as they do so like to see one eating well.Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. Also those DNA records which like mine were perplexing with a high percentage of Neanderthal and other early proto humans. Believe that and you will have proven you believe politicians election promises also.
It has been shown that blood sugar readings are a good indicator of body stress levels. So it was no surprise my blood sugars this morning 9.0
Please forgive me signing out. I want to sleep off the side effects of the Morphine I taking at the moment.
Thanks be to God now relax Ann - well, as much as possible.Neil just phoned from Inverness. He's at the hostel and about to start taking the medicine. That's the first part done - best crossing he's ever had, he said. Millpond, very unlike the Minch. Sub zero temperatures, but the roads were fine.
Love the red roof painting.... @dunelmGood morning everyone on a perfectly silent start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Rage-baiting, a new way of making money - grrrh! I must click and complain about everything! Lots of paths down through the woods blocked by itinerant trees so that will keep some folk busy for a while. Fallen trees are usually just moved out of the way of paths and then left for the woods to consume over time. Smashing Veterans Christmas Lunch yesterday in Durham. Mrs Miggins swapped her turkey for my parsnips and carrots, which was nice, but then made an underhand dive for my pigs in blankets - cheek! Health checks for Mrs Miggins and I today - arm fulls of blood to be sacrificed on the alter of the centrifuge - or is it just subterfuge? Art bit, I am the little red roofter, to lazy to crow for day. May your day be berry and might. I simply must make koffy.
Lots of hugs for you @alf_JosiahGood Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. Also those DNA records which like mine were perplexing with a high percentage of Neanderthal and other early proto humans. Believe that and you will have proven you believe politicians election promises also.
