What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

As said, a curate's egg of a start to Tuesday for you. Happy birthday to your daughter and enjoy the meal out, perhaps even relax a little over carbs and sauces (1) . (Strange echo of JKP and sons to me as I typed that, most bizarre). You lost me with those references but I assume I do the same for most here with sporting ones. Love TGIB's shot at how old mum is. I hope the new boots last you for many years to come. Respect for the mileage in such circumstances and thanks for sharing the art.

Thank you @ianpspurs

Oh no not another struggle with the hotel I hope hugs for the tress this must be causing the odd swear word is allowed.
It is the Hospital that have changed the appointment. They have cancelled the afternoon appointment on Thursday the 13th.

I have just had a new appointment for 9 am in the morning on the same Thursday, the 13th of February.

Son is an unable to change his train times now, so he won't be able to help me now in the morning. Getting a taxi at that time of the day, it's gonna prove nearly impossible because they'll all be taking up taking people to work.

I have run out of naughty words to say....

Oh how troublesome I find with local taxi firms if I book a taxi a day or so in advance that a taxi is easier to get.

This new email says that the doctor, the Chinese Doctor who was due to do the operation in the afternoon refused because I was deaf, and wanted the specialist lead team to do me, not her.....

I have no idea how to book a taxi...

I will have to ask the hotel to see if they can book one for me when I get there...
Not what you needed to hear.
How distressing all this has become.

While you won't often need it, I've found the Uber app to be very effective .

And I think it would suit your needs it's all point & click online, perfect for when you do need a taxi.

Downloading it now..thanks @jjraak

The last time I caught a taxi was either in Liverpool or London and it was over 25 years ago and I just stuck my hand out in the street and a taxi would stop....

It is not my day @jjraak
I downloaded the app, did all the required registration. Then at the end of it it said account locked, Go to the help page and when I got to the help page it said 404 not found.
I'm in the process of deleting it and reinstalling it and trying again...

The Uber app is doing exactly the same all over again... Account locked account disabled it says and the help page says 404 not found....

Edit. Found a Uber help page online. I logged into that easy enough with my Uber details and pass key. Yet when I try and do it from the app it tells me no such device. My device is not recognised you do not have an account.

It doesn't matter how many times I delete the app and reinstall it. It still tells me I do not have an account. Yet I can get through to the Uber helpline with my Uber details.

I was hoping to book something tonight but it doesn't look like it now...

Why isn't there an emoji for frustrated and reaching boiling point? The fact that you are deaf is no good reason for all the chopping and changing around. This is prejudicial to your health and there should be some redress both for you and for everyone else they treat so appallingly.

Thanks @Annb
I will be very glad when this whole thing is completely over.

Do I think the silver cloud in all this is that I'm getting a competent person instead of an incompetent person operating on my eye.
Or do I think cancel the whole thing altogether, and all this is warning me not to do it...

Because I'm very close to doing that 2nd option.

And especially with this Uber taxi app playing me up even though I've registered properly and everything and it said I had an account then it locks me out, and I have no way of booking a taxi in advance now.

I might yet walk away from it all...

Can’t see why being deaf would be an issue - very odd.
Maybe she can't speak English very well and so she's worried about dealing with someone who's deaf. I haven't got a blooming clue at this point, And I have had to take some extra medicines because I was starting with the visual migraine attack and if I have that tomorrow there's no way I'll be going in anyways...
