What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Creative for today.
Comparison between the eyes.
It was sunny and windy.

I had intended doing a different part of the garden, but when I looked at the trees of yesterday with each eye, there was something vastly different with the new cataract eye.

So I had to paint it.
Left eye...
Sky was yellow and cyan.
Tree, which happens to be a willow tree, is yellow ochre, primary yellow, raw umber, and a smidgen of primary red magenta.

Right eye....
Sky was cyan and neutral tint.
The same tree, a willow, its pale primary red magenta and white. They were like white ghost trees waving in the sky.
She shocked me the vast difference between the two eyes on a sunny afternoon. These trees are in the distance at the end of my garden.
Note: the sap is rising in these trees...

I am going to do some research now to see why there was this vast difference between the two eyes, and see if I can find any answers...

Have your best day...

8.2 at 03.30 today. Still high despite insulin and breakfast around 09.00.

Neil tells me he did try to revert my old phone to factory settings but is still not sure that there is nothing personal left in the memory. Back to the sledge hammer suggestion.
My idea @Annb would be to dismantle the phone, take the bit out that holds the security details. Then mix a bucket of cement, drop the offending security bit in the cement. Let it set. Break the bucket off. And use the cement block as a plant stand in the garden.
Now, by the time someone in the future breaks the cement block up, and think they have found hidden treasure, both you and Neil will be long past caring about this tiny little wotsit...
Could that be an idea for you? It's what I would use if I needed to....

Sounds like a good idea Gennepher.

It has been one of those weeks Monday had a dressing appointment at the doctor’s surgery dressing to be changed by HCA who said she was concerned about the wound and thought she could see bone at the base of the wound so makes me an appointment for Wednesday with one of the nurses I get a phone call on Wednesday saying the nurse was off sick so can I come in Thursday today so I arrive at the doctors to find that it is with another of the HCAs and she cannot do the assessment of the wound and has made me an appointment with a nurse for tomorrow only I already had an appointment tomorrow with the same nurse for asthma review and she cannot do both so now asthma review is postponed till next week still at least the weather has improved and got to ride my scooter out in the sunshine witch I enjoyed.

Hope that today’s appointment goes to plan. Silver lining for riding in the sunshine.

6.9 this morning.

Relaxing before the dog trainer arrives.
I feel good because all the more difficult admin is done. This afternoon my sister is coming over to do the admin so I will also do more admin. It is just easy stuff so I won't need to use much brain power.

Thank goodness because having a young puppy seems to have used up most of my brain power.

Good morning everyone on another day riding the spinning ball of bewildering things. 5.8 this a.m. It was all quiet on the Eastern front this morning. Parents of the miniature humans came by and whisked them away, just as we had made a splendidly lucrative deal with a local chimney sweep.
It’s a real joy to have them here but today will be a day of rest and recuperation.
Art bit - another line of ink on wet paper.
Hope your day moves along at an acceptable pace. Beds are stripped, washing is on, some shopping to do - but first, another koffy.

You are a hard worker @dunelm

Didn't the miniature humans fancy donning their flat caps and being dropped down the chimney with a brush and dustpan....

Art bit is good. I am going to take a leaf out of your book and have a try with that....

All I did yesterday was walk down the ramp to the car, sit in the car seat while Neil drove, got into the wheelchair to be pushed from the car park to the health centre and sat in the chair while I waited for attention, got my legs bandaged and waited for Neil to come back and pick me up. I did walk back up the ramp, by which time I was shattered (had to struggle against the wind to get into the house). Couldn't do anything else for the rest of the day and was so tired at 7 pm that I had to phone and cancel the Zoom meeting I should have gone to and went to bed instead by 8.30. Of course, that meant I was up again by 11.30 and only had short spells of sleep from then on. Breathing is difficult again - somehow it seems to improve if I take paracetemol but I don't know why. To me that doesn't sound like fluid building up in my lungs, which is what the doctor said it was.

Anyhow, for what it's worth, BG was 6.5 at some stage this morning - not sure when that was. New Libre sensor on and it is still recording 6.5. Now, why am I constantly transposing letters today? Maybe my hands are not as tired as my brain and are just throwing down anything remotely applicable.

Hope the appointment went well, John, and that you see some improvement in the wound before long.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.7

The weather forecast for Tilehurst Towers is wall to wall rain and storms, the storms are not weather related, but Mrs J related. Being a dutiful husband of 40 odd and even years I decided to show a little initiative :-) , something not approved of in Tilehurst Towers by Mrs J.
Now a question is will I make this mistake again?
Answers on a postcard.

No postcard I’m afraid but the answer is of course you will.

Not my day.
I collected the motar mix from a local shop who ordered it in for me. I had stuffed the 4 footed long tailed beastie hole in my inside doorstep with tons of wire wool as an emergency measure.
I put a low step stool thingy beside it this morning. And realised all the steel wool I had put in has been pulled through to the outside. Every scrap of it. I am dealing with super monsters.
Sigh.
So for the next two hours sitting on my stepstool, I haven't figured out how to get off it yet. And I am stuffing steel wool into this hole. Then had checked it with some water to see where the hole went. They had tried to dig under into my concrete floor. My floor is concrete. Then they had tried digging along underneath my step and then stopped then they had tried to dig into the brickwork at the side but fortunately has not reached the cavity part of it. But they had succeeded in coming out through my inside doorstep, which was what I could see.
I poured water down it 1st to find out where the water came out outside. Then I started stuffing steer wool in. Then I put some motar in and pushed that down. I had a kitchen in implement I didn't want anymore so that worked well. I was tired and needed a rest so I tried to get off the stool.. I failed and fell off it onto the floor. It was at this point I could see more damage the long tail beasties had done. I was cursing. They had chewed through my IKEA drawer furniture which held all my pens, pencils, felt tips, edding pens, posca pens, Chinese pens, hundreds of pounds worth of pens. And they had chewed through some expensive papers which was all in plastic boxes. I have lived here nearly 25 years and I have never had this problem yet.

Okay, so I'm still on the floor.
Fortunately, the sun was shining so that wasn't so bad...
Finally, my knees decided they would support me and I managed to get off the floor holding various objects.

I'm having a wee little rest now. I would like to have a rest till tomorrow, but I need to finish this today. I have ordered some stuff off Amazon to finish off the actual doorstep and to finish off the outside, but that won't be coming until tomorrow.

I need to do my creative for today so doing my best with that now and then back to the grindstone and this time I will have a few rope pulleys tied onto something, but I have to beat the light before it fades.

Tomorrow, I most certainly won't be moving off my bed.... and the app Visible will tell me I have not paced it today.

I did explore some alternatives on other people doing this, but the cost was going to be astronomical because really the doorstep needs shield over it inside and out to stop the mice chewing through that plastic UVPC stuff, or whatever it's called. The stuff that is coming tomorrow will do the same thing which the expensive stuff would cost if I got somebody else to do it but at a fraction of the cost.

I have a couple of other ideas....

The dog trainer is absolutely brilliant. Very knowledgeable and the stuff she is teaching us really works.

We are so grateful to the other dog owners who recommended her.

My desk is clear of papers now as I am up to date with admin. Thank goodness for half term.
