What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

At last I have time to start to write this post the first time…….pahft and pahft.
This now my third attempt. Also 2 1\2 hours later.

My blood sugars over the last few day have been all over the place
Ranging from 4.4 to 8.0

I haven’t been in a position to read all your posts also make daily observations. This due to the side effects of extremely strong painkillers and the ability to stay awake. In my arroganct opinion this stem back to my radiotherapy and medication last year.

Now I must sign out.

Have a pleasant evening.

At least you're still able to post.

A small blessing in what seems like a very shortened day .

I entirely get this
But hopefully it's the chance we need to rejuvenate and live a longer day in the months that come

If I recall Bears do this regularly & it doesn't seem to do them any harm. .mmhh

12.2

Probably not helped by having to talk DD through a panic attack at 2am.

My school had 6 houses named after saints, including Winefride. I never knew anything about her, just thought it was an unusual spelling of Winifred.
No.

I'm sure despite the hour it was mercifully received

And as we know, not all superheroes wear capes.

Some are just there at the end of the phone .

Bless you .

I think that you did really well @gennepher not to have a meltdown during that appalling meeting at the bank.

Morning

Another warm sunny day in the capital.

On the fun express to the office ...
(I moan but grateful to still have the distraction if I'm honest )

FBG a pleasing 6.7.

Mulling a lot on what I believe are called "unwanted thoughts" early morning before giving in & getting up.

Had read somewhere our moods are a choice

Going to try choosing being smiley & grateful for today.

Hope I don't come across all @alf_Josiah and scare too many people....eek.

Have a blessed day if possible all .

Morning all on the last but properly mild day of this possible foretaste of summer 2025. My fbg is a guessing game so I guess it is better not to share. @jjraak I could have given a hug but I gave a funny for the humour in the post. Smile and wave boys, smile and wave. Have a great day where possible but remember to vote early and vote often - mostly against that man.

Good sun shiny morning everyone.
5.7 this a.m.
Double dip bin day and already the garden bin is free of contents. But will the recycling bin be emptied or will the recycling police find a criminally placed plastic bag or horror of horror, polished Irene or a jar with the lid still attached and refuse to empty it? Serious 21st C problems.
Art bit - just down the coast a bit.
Hope your day is a Thursday and that you are still keeping up! Must make koffee and get out into that sunshine.

Yes, @dunelm, it's a Thursday here as well. That means it isn't bin day but it is legs day. Legs day, "enhanced" by an orthoptic appointment and then a diabetes nurse appointment. Oh what fun! Not expecting to be up to much for what will remain of the day, so I might just come back here and have a moan.

That painting is beautiful @dunelm
You live in a beautiful place....

I think we have a Thursday too @Annb

It is cardboard and plastic recycle today, but I didn't join the fun...I have a gammy right knee, and the left one keeps joining the party... and so no way of gathering that stuff together, let alone putting it out...

At this rate those library books are going to get finished quickly...

White rabbits! Good morning and welcome to May. Fbs this morning was 11.1! Started taking Gliclazide before food since agylli's post yesterday so will see if it changes anything. Enjoy this morning's sunshine. Rain and possible thunder predicted for later.

I think that you did really well @gennepher not to have a meltdown during that appalling meeting at the bank.
Yes
I would certainly have given them a loud, sarcastic piece of my mind under such provocation!

10.5 this not-quite-morning.

Lower than yesterday despite carby last meal of beans so content with that. Starting Metformin today so fingers crossed no gut issues, got a supermarket delivery coming this evening so can't stay next to the loo *all* day.

I did say plenty@debs248 and I've made a formal complaint to the company. Got an email back saying they're looking into it....

Hugs for any metformin issues...

Thank you

I did take it previously without symptoms but that was 20 years ago so can't guarantee the same now, especially as I'm also taking Gliclazide now.
I have Sitagliptin which I'm supposed to take with Metformin but it made me ill, And so I don't take it and I just take the metformin...

I am trying very hard with food to get my blood glucose readings down. . I do take the metformin, but even that is upsetting my stomach now @debs248

I have my yearly diabetic review in a few months time and I'm trying my hardest to see if it is possible for me to come off the Metformin

HBa1c is 41! I find that hard to take in, especially since my readings have been all over the place these last few weeks..Diabetes nurse says at that level I should be in remission, but it is only achieved by using fairly large doses of insulin, so I can't be. 41 is down from 58 last time I saw her. Opthalmologist says my eyes are fairly stable and there's nothing they can do about the mitochondrial thing, so she doesn't want to see me again. Fine by me. Legs rebandaged (by a student nurse), so that's me done for the day - apart from a Zoom meeting at 8 pm. No appointments now until next Legs day.

I hope next Thursday isn't as windy as today - I only managed to stay upright by hanging on to the gate post as I struggled through the gate. Then I couldn't see where I was going because my overgrown hair blew over my face. Wind and rain; what a lovely combination.
