What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.8 this morning.
Classes went well and I had a lovely meal in the pub across the road.
Am back in the hall and am relaxing before classes start again at 6pm. There is a lovely breeze blowing through the open windows and door.

7.6 today and after yesterday's gymnastics, my sciatica nerve into my left cheek is solid and sore.
So half limping and half hobbling around, today's chores have been a bit more time consuming and painful.
Weather is very wintery. Rained overnight, very windy from the North west, cold, heating is on.
Still no news.

Think I'm depressed.

Impossible becomes possible when im not involved.

Best wishes.

Fbg 6.5

Absolutely shattered today...
This weather is hot one minute and then really cold another...
I wore my winter fleece in bed last night.

Creative is another painting I found among my stuff, only this one is a pen and ink drawing, done in 2007.

I have gone with my Art group for a morning's sketching... and so we were drawing what we actually saw..... I always see faces in trees.... and so that is how I draw them. ...

The next thing I knew was the rest of the Art group were alll standing behind me with their heads going every different angle trying to see in the tree what I was seeing....

Time for an evening nap....

Take care...IMG_2128_SnapseedCopy.jpeg

Amazing pen and ink drawing. Casper the friendly ghost and Aslan's Great Uncle in that one. Hug for the odd weather. Will you be getting the heatwave later this week?

Morning all from a bright and breezy L.A. Fbg of 4.4 today after some unwelcome 6s yesterday due to lazy choices of food and drink. Coke zero seems to have affected my system whereas Pepsi doesn't - not that I drink either often. The Coke was just right there on the table near me and I wanted a drink. Evening meal was disrupted by Drs appointments and an urgent call to collect granddaughter from Brownies so I just had keto bread toast and pate. The free white bread from Keto chefs seems to send me into the low 6s whereas the seeded one doesn't. The pate was also higher carb than normal due to Ocado/M and S not having our normal variety. First World Issues maybe but if you cut us even we Guardianistas still bleed :D Enjoy your day where at all possible.

10.0

Initially got 13.5 but I'd left the test strip out of the pot overnight - after half a dozen failed attempts to get blood out I gave up and went to bed. Better night's sleep but might still need an afternoon nap.

6.7 mainly because not stopped all day until now.
From a very irritating 6.30am to around 1pm Mrs L has been packing, and wanting me to pack as well, but as Mrs L was packing, I, unbeknownst to Mrs L was unpacking. I was very careful not to get caught. Also not until her long awaited nap, did I find time to put everything back.
Still not heard anything.
Still very frustrating.
Still depressed.

Commission report into child poverty is a lot worse than realised.
It's about time it was the people rather than the economy, the government's policy became known for. It is really shocking!

Best wishes

Afternoon all.
5.4 this a.m.
Reunion went splendidly at the weekend. Lots of catching up especially with a couple of people that I have not seen since the early 70’s. Evenings stretch to beyond midnight. Needed yesterday to recover.
Sun out this morning so a smashing walk down into town and along the prom. Nice light breeze.
Mrs Miggins has discovered how the pressure washer works so is busy squirting water at things at high pressure and making lots of noise.

5.8 at 03.30 today. I was surprised because it was 4.7 when I went to bed and I thought it might go lower. Been in the 4's and 3's most of the day. Discovery - eating eggs doesn't require a dose of insulin, although eating liver and bacon does, Can't be any carbs in liver or bacon, or even the duck, which also required insulin a couple of days ago. Odd.

Right hand seriously inflamed now, and very sore. Al suggests I've strained something trying to open the Libre packaging. It was very difficult, so he may be right. It should go away in time though. There's no "hopeful" emoji.

Fbg 6.8

I had a surprise this weekend.
I belong to 2 Ancestry sites that I have had DNA testing done with...
One is Ancestry.
One is MyHeritage.

I've got a message from Australia asking me who I was in the family tree. She gave me a little more information....

I replied ... and she tells me who she is in the family tree...

It turns out we share the same great grandparents who emigrated to Australia in about 1926. And so we are second cousins...

This is the first indication I have had of a real alive living human being, related to Uncle Mac, my birth father.

I have always felt all my life, that I did not belong, a lot of my writing and poetry reflects this, and so to go from only having a birth certificate with no name of either parent, to real named people who are showing a willingness to connect and communicate is absolutely amazing....

I have sort of been, phased out today...on a different planet...

My creative is a painting I did of a ruined church some time ago...

Weird weather today. At one point so hot and scorching...and now the temperature has dropped...to quite cool...

Night night

Sweet dreams

I have a pair of small scissors that can cut through plastic. Those really difficult little packages.
I have a Stanley knife for the cardboard etc.

I have a lot of Welsh ancestry @gennepher.
It has been traced back to the late 1780's .Anglesey. But apparently wider family roots around N Wales. My surname is very much N Wales.
I am so glad you have found some family.
I even remember my father's brothers family visiting us early sixties before emigrating to Australia from Liverpool. Mrs L has family in Perth. Cousins, etc all over the place.
My family is huge.
