A kaleidoscope of the berries I took yesterday...
I have eaten them all now!....
Really tired...I am working on my bedroom now... tidying, clearing, throwing unneeded stuff out, simplifying,....I fell asleep a few hours ago and I've only just woken up just before midnight...

Lots of stuff to do tomorrow...
Cat Midnight likes the new arrangement. He now has a chair to sleep in...where he has been all day...and he has just transferred to being my nighttime fur blanket.

7.10am FBG 5.3 bed at result for ages.
Today eldest grandaughter is 15. Milestone birthday. Starting GCSE year.
With an end of August birthday she has always been the youngest in her class. Being naturally petite this is very obvious, but hasn't disadvantaged her in any way.
It was wonderful to spend time with all of them recently.
Calm dry weather after several windy rainy days. Am hoping to get out in the garden and tidy up a bit.
It's the French Patrimonie weekend. Many attractions, museums and parks will have free entry. Am going to do a little reseach and maybe find something nearby to visit tbis afternoon.

Happy birthday to your grandaughter, @SlimLizzy. 16! Like me, I don't suppose you can understand how they got to be that age so soon. Best wishes to her for the coming year. Em is the youngest in her class as well, but she's tall and well built - bigger at this stage than all of the girls and some of the boys in her class.

BG at 04.00 was 5.2 and it's still at that number.

Lots to do today. One job is to sort through all the DVDs that we had for Tom when he couldn't get around much any more. Some of them, I might keep, but most of them will go to a charity shop. I think people still buy DVDs. At least now, I have some empty space for some of my books. Still looking for those lost papers.

I was disappointed yesterday because I dug out my old laptop and was hoping to use it for Zoom meetings because my little tablet isn't really up to the job. However, the laptop is worse. Tells me that the connection is unstable, I should upgrade my browser, then drops out altogether. Darn it. I'll just have to get one of those camera/microphone attachments for this desktop PC.

Worked, ok pottered about in the garden all morning, after boiled egg and LC toast, resisted choccie biccies with coffee.
Result: BG before lunch 4.8
While getting out chicken for dinner from the freezer found a rogue caramel mini magnum so rewarded myself with that.
Back to the garden again, very pleased it's still dry. Might actually achieve my list of outdoor tasks today, if I don't get too distracted.
Have deadheaded all the roses and cut back the runner beans smothering two of them, harvested french beans and the gherkins valiantly pretending to be the cucumbers i was gifted. Nasty spiny things with inedible rind. Now to cut bamboo stakes for tomatoes that have outgrown theirs. Intermittent support for MrSlim who has put in new lino floor and started installing the shower. Hold this : etc.
Until this week have harvested exclusively green veg. It's good to have tomatoes and some rather battered peaches this week.

Grapes & berries looked good , though I'm still drawn to those encausted type ones .

While Mrs L had an afternoon nap. I finished the outside of the back fence. I am quite pleased with myself. Until Mrs L questioned why? Confused, cos I should have painted the new front fence. Until Mrs L remembered that I was told to do the back fence. And I was under orders to get the painting finished. However, I reminded Mrs L that the food had to be cooked. Believing it was still morning, Mrs L said that she wasn't hungry. An hour later, Mrs L cleared the full plate. Despite, moaning to the carer, that her stomach is off.
it has been that kind of mixed up day. Gonna have to get in touch with the mental health practitioner tomorrow. Mrs L seems more confused back to pre respite time again.
another restless, sleep deprived night due to Mrs L having issues with........!
Yer know women's things......?
Early bed methinks.

Monday coffee group in nearby town this morning.
Am hoping to do a pan exchange with a friend, we have about a dozen pans in various sizes unsuitable for the new induction hob. My friend has some that will work. Should be good for both of us.
Can also give her some excess gherkins to pickle and beans. Not freezing any this year. Unless I find the bean shredder.
Tabby appeared in the garden again yesterday, knew he was there by Kiki's panicked arrival through the cat door with her hackles up so i went out and chased him away. That the third time in four days he has frightened Kiki.
Did I tell you about the time he chased her into the house?
