Those cards are quite useful but I did find the catheter solved the problem nicely. Fitting process leaves much to be desired thoughAh! If only those A and B roads had such things - luckily, lots of trees, hedgerows and my ace “Just Can’t Wait” card from those lovely folk at https://www.bladderandbowel.org/help-information/just-cant-wait-card/
Last day at work is bound to cause mixed emotions, jjraak, but my OH summed it up in the words, " Leaving was difficult but staying away was easy". Best wishes to you and your future.A Wet miserable Sunday here in the capital.
A not too bad 5.3 for me.
My last day at work, so mixed emotions.
Perhaps a leaving drink, if I can push myself to go,
I expect a mixed bag tomorrow morning..
Have a good un all, if ya can.
@DJC3 and @PenguinMum - what is it with these nut butters that make them irresistible. My kryptonite is Almond butter, but peanut butter is just as bad. Just one teaspoon is never enough. So they are both now banned from the house.
I'm guessing it's the apple smoking process that added the carbs. I believe it would add carbs to sausages. The added flavor makes a nice taste change for me for the sausages but the carbs FBG change isn't good IMO.
I'm passing through West Bromwich today to take Mrs MC to dentist so will look out for you and give you a wave as we pass.Morning...up super early today... it's Monday cold & damp & I'm off to West Bromwich hurrah!... must watch out for the bus gate/lane to avoid a repeat of my last visit. (two fines)..can't wait to get started (not)...woke to a 6.5
When I had my last meal of the day, about 3 pm, it included ready to eat salmon. And this usually has the effect of reducing my blood sugars.
But immediately after I ate it I heated up (my body heated up, and sweat began pouring off my face) as though my blood sugars had risen. And I didn’t feel too good. So had a nap and got up at 6pm. I still didn’t feel good. I felt as though I had eaten a lot of sugar. But I hadn’t had any. I checked my blood sugars. They were 10. They are normally about 6.1 at 6pm. And this is what had been projected from the One Drop app from me entering the food I had eaten.
I am upset because I don’t know what has happened here. Then I realised the ready to eat salmon was from a different shop I normally buy it from. So I compared data between this new salmon to my usual salmon. The new salmon was 3 carbs for the same quantity as opposed to my regular salmon which was 1 carb for the same quantity.
Why the difference? No extra ingredients in the new salmon. But it still didn’t break my carb allowance for the day which was about 20 carbs.
The new salmon was apple smoked, but my regular salmon wasn’t.
So, I thought, oh well it will go back down if it’s own accord. I went to bed at 7pm (I usually go to bed between 7 and 9 pm because I am generally an early riser). I still didn’t feel too good.
Woke up just now at 11 pm. I thought I would check blood sugars. It was 10.5. I am thinking this is not possible. I do have a back up blood sugar monitor of a different brand (but it uses quite expensive strips), and this one came up as 9.7.
I do not understand why my blood sugar is not going down. So I went in the kitchen and cut a few small slices of hard cheese and got a few cashew nuts.
I will test again next time I wake up.
My blood sugar readings have been in range for more than 10 days now, always under 7.5 and usually in the 6’s.
Was it this new apple smoked salmon from a different shop that was the cause of this blood sugar rise? Was there some unknown sugars in it that weren’t on the label. Or did my body have a blip?
Not happy with this.
Frightened the life out of me this morning, 10.3. Prednisolone and Amoxycyllin sure is messing me up. Day readings are in the low 6's but this is the highest I have been since diagnosis. Back at the docs today and admit I am feeling very sorry for myself, so excuse the downer.
Oh boy.
Yes that is a fright.
I would feel that way on this unexpected high blood sugars.
It really does set us back emotionally.
It is scary.
Hugs for you.
@OldButBold equally sorry to hear about the effects of the meds on your bg. Hope the doc can help in some way.
