just going to spend an hour catching up, see you soon
I was in Germany - then West Germany - in a town called Verden, Lower Saxony. I have two half German cousins, one who lives and works in Berlin so she was there when the wall came down.O/T can't believe no-one asked where were you 30 years ago yet. According to our 3 year old son a part of that structure found its way to a village car park in the fens.
Certainly been a good day and it looks like they will be spending another night with us. 'Just the ticket' is a phrase often used in our household, mustn't let these phrases die.good start and the family day sounds just the ticket - as no one ever says.
Great for info, thanks for sharingGood morning everyone. The rain has stopped. Not sure for how long. The wind has also dropped so the sea will be a bit happier this morning - so grouchy yesterday.
The wonder wheel of just a wee drop of 12 year old Redbreast and an excellent nights sleep gave out to a 4.9 this am.
It’s not the full story and for some folks that find their fasting readings a bit odd I carried out an experiment yesterday to see what happens if I pig out a bit on carbs. I usually keep my carb intake quite low and consumed mostly at around noon (I rarely have anything before that apart from tea and koffy). Yesterday a carb laden dinner; about 35g and consumed by 2100.
As you can see from the graph, the night shift had a whale of a time shoveling the resulting sugar load around. When I got up at 0500 (where the red line is) my reading was 4.9. Liver then kicked in and went berserk, due mainly because the night shift had failed to sort it out.
OK, only once but (1) if I keep my carbs low, especially after lunch time then my nightly graph looks fairly nice and smooth and (2) taking a fasting reading (a) a good 8 hours after eating and (b) immediately upon waking may be very different from not 8 hours or perhaps more importantly delaying after waking for even just a small time when the liver may be already doing it’s thing to help you get some energy for the day.
Have a great day if you can - kofee now and maybe a bit some cheese I think.

Not sure I am supposed to post here. I had been aiming to take a day off work to pass through at the tower but sadly it won’t be possible. Thanks for posting the info graph, btw.5.3 today following a late tea if 1 x thins cracker, some cheese and nuts. Had a full English breakfast so wasnt hungry. Blood sugars didnt go over 6 at all which I love. Nothing very carby so just as I expected.
Today I had a later breaky. Cheese omelette. Would put my bloods up to just over 6. It got to.6.2. Then about 1 hour later I decided i fancied a 5.9g choc n nut bar from aldi. So you can see one rise to 6.2 then a pause before it goes up further. Dads army were taken by surprise, didnt even get chance to get back to their barracks. Tonight was my usual kebab. Naked (the kebab not me, far too b***dy cold!). Chili sauce and garlic mayo, cabbage and onions. Large glass of red and a few nuts. dads army happy with that. Coffee and cream and 4 small pieces of Tesco 90% no sugar choc. Nice. Sweeteners in it so tastes devine!
Painting day today. One of our rentals has come empty. An amazing tenant we have had for 4 years left to move closer to her new job. She left it immaculate (not always the case!). Not even one bit of rubbish left (never the case!). So freshening up for new tenants whilst we do viewings. Lots of viewings!
Tomorrow repeat.
Trying to work on a few things in between but not a lot of time. Will have more time soon.
Preparing PowerPoint for my event at Blackpool tower ballroom. Monday 25th November. Free entry. Me and Eric have a table. Hoping to help lots of people. It may be a damp squid. Blackpool has many challenges. Not sure too many will be in the queue to hear about their health and wellbeing. But if we can help one person! Going to do the teaspoons of sugar quiz. Also the pouring the daily sugar we have into a Tupperware. Lots of dr unwins infographs and pictures of pasta rice etc with equivalent sugar. My leaflets. Blood glucose monitor demo. Cgm demo. That kind of thing. If anyone has any ideas let me know as I have to fill 6 hours!!!
@Listlad my 30 minute talk is at 12 noon for info
Got quite a busy couple of weeks.
My friend invited me to madame tussauds this week. Free entry. They have a strictly come dancing section. There were 3 LIVE DANCERS in between the waxwork dummies!! Imagine that. We laughed. Johannes is my favourite and I got the chance to tell him.i especially loved his stiletto dance. TV cameras there so might be on TV again this Thursday on it takes two. I might end up on cutting room floor too!
Happy weekend to you all.
