What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.1 this morning, better than I expected after quite a heavy protein dinner, but also a lot of fat so maybe that helped ( lamb chops and halloumi chips)

@Muddy Cyclist thank you for posting that link , I didn’t know about the slit in the wall either, that was a lovely touch.
Thanks also @OldButBold for the reminder of others who made sacrifices too.

The lamb and halloumi chips sound lush .

Very true my children’s grandfather came over here from the Caribbean to fight for Britain. And I wouldn’t have had my beautiful children if he hadn’t have fathered my ex husband . The twist and turns of life eh

Not too sure what Unwin's law means. Does it mean that there is an infinite amount of variables?
Kind of. Basically, there are no real guidelines we are all different as regards how many carbs and what kind of food works for us. We all have our own "hinterland" All you can really say is this is what happens to me when I do/eat this (sometimes)

Thank you for explaining it so clearly. Yes - I absolutely agree that all we can say is 'this is what happens to me when I do/eat this (sometimes).

I keep meaning to mention that the video also says that it is helpful to go for a 10 minute walk after eating. I started doing this sometime ago after I read the research done by a New Zealand University that it helped after meal BS.

I forgot about it when I started doing LCHF. Not sure why because I had found it helped in the past. Your video reminded me that it had helped me before and it would be a good idea to start doing it again - which I have done.

It was very tasty. I’ve recently bought an airfryer ( Middle of Lidl, not a very expensive model) it’s brilliant for chops, sausages, chicken and best of all halloumi chips!

Have a good Sunday
I sawyour post about leaving the forum but can I suggest you stay with us on here if nothing else. I know you have had horrible challenges of late and maybe us T2s are a bit flippant but I love you being here with us. Whatever you decide sending hugs galore.

Oh dear! I did not see that post of @Cumberland 's. I would be sorry to see you leave, @Cumberland .

@Cumberland your post is the saddest post I have read in a long while. It's awful that someone's comments have made you feel like leaving the forum altogether. What a sad day for all that would be. I only go on one thread, I call it the happy chatty one. It never fails to bring a smile to my face and usually on daily basis. It wouldn't be the same without you. But you have to do what's best for you. That said, if you arent back in a week I'm sending out a search party for you. I did it once before with @SaskiaKC and it was 'mission accomplished '. I do hope this won't be 'mission impossible ' and you will soon be back with us. Take care.
