That's okay Saskia they are so naughty...I was on the phone looking out the garden windows trying to see how strong the wind is...studying how much the trees were bowing in it...I didn't realise there was an inside storm right behind me...ooh clearing it up is proving a nightmare...we've taken preventative measures not a toilet roll in sight all battened down...picking up the big pieces was a doddle but the hundreds of shredded parts was/is hard work...nearly there thank goodness.I apologize for LOL'ing at Charlie and @jjraak's description of your Camouflage Cat
Morning all. 5.4 fbg - not ideal but it is what it is. Sprung mattress here - removal men seemed impressed so I'm taking that as a good sign.
Worrying news indeed. I hope your Brighton friends will not be affected.
Man oh Man. Winner! Winner! Winner! Want to buy you some Gin but only if its on offer. Some of you may remember my watercolour sea scape commission A1 size. Well being kept in by the storm inspired me to start it. However I managed to finish it, almost A1, well it will be once I get a 2 inch border around it and the frame so a bit of a cheat. So here it is and I ain't doing another so they had better like it.....

@Chris12345 welcome to this crazy mixed up corner of the forum.
@jjraak and @gennepher can I arrive in my VW campervan, cooker, fridge, own electricity (well at least for 3 days) an outside gas hob and a gas Caddac ( BBQ type of thing) and I can always fill my large onboard water tank with Gin. Starts to make the apocalypse sound quite attractive.
Thanks @PenguinMumJust back in but glad you and Popeye are ok but sorry about the damage outside. The rechargeable LED lamps sound brilliant. I have such a stash of all sizes of candles they will probably last for the rest of my life but I used my LED torch to read while we were cut off. Your silver birches are excellent.
@gennepher Your silver birches are beautiful. Is that a green stairwell going up in the background? If so I would like to climb it. I hope your roof is OK. I am assuming the wormery is part of your gardening/composting set-up?
5.7 for me.
Know the feeling @trick60 re cholesterol, I am on a warning from the DN to do something about my high numbers or else @gennepher, loved your silver birches.
@jjraak, managed to avoid the land of Oz, storm wasn't too bad around here so fared quite well. Hugs to all those who suffered damage.
@SlimLizzy, sorry you had the damage but love the house.
@dunelm safe journey back to the wonderful North East.
If I have forgotten anyone else hope you all had a good day.
Keeping a watching brief re coronavirus. Good idea about the pneumonia injections @PenguinMum, may look into it.
The coronavirus super spreader may have been to a yoga class in Hove. Staff at the community centre which hosts the class have been told to isolate themselves.
A number of community groups use the Cornerstone Centre on Church Road. Staff have been told to isolate themselves by Public Health England who have been contacting anybody who could have come into contact with the super spreader.
A person who uses the centre regularly said:
"The man visited the centre last week to go to a runners yoga class. People are very concerned about the lack of clear information from the NHS about this man's movements."
You do realise that we are starting to sound a bit like Dads Army lol. I like the sound of @Muddy Cyclist camper van especially the on board tank!!also gives me great honour to bestow upon you the order of Chef De Patisserie for the ZA..Penguin Battalion )
@SlimLizzy Hug for the nightmare. I'm glad that's all it was. Your house is lovely.
@Krystyna23040 I hope Archie is improving as the day goes by. I hope Poppy doesn't catch the bug.
@HarryBeau I apologize for LOL'ing at Charlie and @jjraak's description of your Camouflage Cat. I once came home from a weekend away to find my toilet roll unwound and stretching all the way from the bathroom down the hall into the living room That was the work of my Smokey cat of long ago. ^. .^
@ianpspurs Good luck with the stove, and all the settling in. John 1:1-5.
@gennepher Your silver birches are beautiful. Is that a green stairwell going up in the background? If so I would like to climb it. I hope your roof is OK. I am assuming the wormery is part of your gardening/composting set-up?
@dogslife Hugs for the day.
The KittenCat let me sleep in this morning and was rewarded for the quiet with a breakfast of treats and salmon. I am now being rewarded with her sleeping presence in my lap while I enjoy my breakfast and coffee.
The thing that makes me mad is when I was out in Chichester early on Saturday morning I counted about 10 people coughing and sneezing in the street and making mo effort to cover their mouths and that was during only 30 mins before it got busy.indeed.
have called lauren to let her know.
she in turn will tell her friend.
Thanks for the hugs, @SaskiaKC. Our day didn't go according to plan at all I'm afraid. Visit to mum was very distressing and we were caught out by a sudden, unexpected snowstorm, got stuck in horrendous traffic and so didn't make it to the funeral in time. Grateful to be back home in the warm tbh. Good news is that a phonecall to mum's nursing home reassured us that she is now fine after a long rest. Tomorrow is another day as they say.
Thank you @PenguinMum. I'm just grateful to have a warm, cosy home to get back to. I feel so sorry for those that do not.Hugs for the stressful day but glad your mum is settled and you are now back in your own home.
