What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Talking of deliveries, this is what was left of today’s delivery after Dennis reached the post before me! (A gift from a pal, View attachment 36924another Libre user, of some protective film to cover it up if I go swimming. Luckily only 1 was shredded beyond use).
@DJC3, same protective film that I use. You only need half a sheet if it’s the same size as mine. Cut lengthwise.

The one in the snow has same colouring as my old boy...how apt is that message! We had his ashes scattered in his favourite meadow for hunting when he was young but heard last week they are going to build 150 houses on it. The new inhabitants might get ghostly visits from a handsome ginger o_O

4.8 today after yedterdays roller coaster things have settled, apart from on twitter where things are moving and a grooving in the right direction I feel. Slow n steady progress. Rome wasnt built in day.

Busy day so will have to catch up later.

I'm.having a nightmare with technology today. On the phone twice to sky. They have done something with my email. I can only a access via outlook now. I cant shrink photos so try as I may in pic stitch it's not shrinking so I can attach something to give you a laugh. Will try again later

Thanks for the tip. Do you always cover yours? She said she only does if she’s likely to go swimming but otherwise it stays in situ pretty well.
@DJC3 - I always do. When I first got it I found out, twice, that if it gets knocked, even slightly, then it can pack in and it’s too expensive a risk for me.

Hi all

Many thanks for all the good wishes.

Still little change as such..
will update should things change in a big way, if that's ok.
But the family do appreciate the love sent their way..xx

For now it's boring old BG's once again.

Fbg 5.7

out at docs for last Counselling session ...both of us very happy with the progress.
saw today my chart on where she believed i was.....Quite surprised at how high they had me..
and well chuffed at how much lower it is now.

On way home i popped into a charity shop, and spotted an Atkins book, so bought it as the Atkins diet i knew of, before Dx was described as being 'weird'..but now find the view i had of foods was all upside down, now it makes much more sense, so going to have a read and get a bit more knowledge into me..LoL
while looking for a review to show you, i actually found the book in a web form..(sort of kindle style) HERE
if anyone was also curios and without the extortionate cost of a whole £1.50 p

i felt cheap at that, so doubled up and bought another
(Grain free Gourmet By jodi bager & jenny lass ) thinking of my steph who has some lactose issues.

Marley rocked up for dinner an hour ago.(bless) ...now snuggled down on his cushion sleeping..

did spot this and thinking of @karen8967 love of pics,
seems pretty appropriate after @SaskiaKC posting...( Like the No Tuna one..LoL cat looks a real BA )

Oh dear DJC but in his defence I blame the postman for putting it through the letterbox in the first place.

You’re right, we keep saying we’ll put one of those boxes on the outside but never get round to it. D loves the postman - he’s a nice chap who always makes a big fuss of D ( who he calls Savage) whenever they see eachother.

In the immortal words of the prophet Fred Astaire -

"Heaven, I'm 5.7,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When a nice fish curry is starting off the week…"

Have a great day :)

and THE Song of the day.... in MY HEAD :wideyed::woot::***:..., goes to.....

Very Funny, brightened up a not so bright morning..Star :D

Hello @jjraak You seem in better spirits, good.
Ref Atkins. It worked for me back in the day. The ketosticks DID turn purple and the weight did fall off. It is quite expensive. Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast instead of toast and marmalade, cheaper options are available. My take is that it worked well with me aged 25 but seemed less effective at 35 and 45?
Atkins counts carbs. for weight loss, similarly we T1 and T2 types count the carbs, as part of BG control.

It does reinforce the message though, that we T1 and T2 types really have to count the carbs, as part of BG control.

Cheers, @True Blue .
reading it more as an adjunct to where i am with LCHF..more then happy with how i'm doing on that.
so won't be changing anytime soosn
(kind of seeing it more as a Windows 3.0..TO W10 type evolution )
same idea, just LCHF better in it's delivery & usability, imho.

Pretty interesting so far, but already spotted some thing i'd avoid, being touted as ok,
But overall the advise is pretty similar.

looked up other diets, saw NHS website rating them with the pros n cons.
surprising how often the Lower carbs is identified as a Good thing, yet LCHF languishes in the wings while we roll out ND with full fanfare.

Cat question.......answered.

marley has a habit of sitting on our chest..(belles did too)
however he also likes to then shift up, RIGHT UP CLOSE to your face..almost kissing distance,
which is cute if a little off putting..

he also does (and no other cats we had did )
reaches out gently with his paw to pat your face..(claws in, although not always fully away, but still no intent )

was going to ask on here, if this was normal, did it signify anything, but google gave me this in a quick search
so thought i'd share anyway..

Yup, Popeye does that.
Cat breath in front of my nose, I am very good at holding my breath...
And pats my cheeks.
He sleeps literally under my chin.
Then sort of sidles round, and it’s literally bum view...at which point cat gets shoved under the blanket.
Cat’s head emerges from under the blanket looking a wee bit hurt and indignant, and he sidles back up to my nose, nose touching. And then.
Cat breath in front of my nose........
