What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Wonder if it’d work for puppy chewing too. I’ve tried the spray stuff but he just licks it off. This chair as you can see is bu**ered the greyish horizontal line used to be a tasselled fringe thing, which lasted approx 2 minutes after Dennis saw it ( old fashioned I know - it was my dads chair) then he set about destroying the rest of it. When Archie was little he was a nightmare chewer. We tried bitter apple spray which really worked. No other stop chewing spray worked.

good evening all :)

was 4.6 this morning
which is when I forgot to hit post :sorry:

mr gee and I out today to drop off his prescription and to pick up Christmas wreaths, it's a local tradition to take wreaths to the cemetery at Christmas, and one which stretches back many years on mum's part, usually she takes one for mr gee's dad and her brother.
We picked out some nice ones and we'll take her out to the two places with them tomorrow then make sure she has a nice lunch afterwards.

I also dropped off the little aran sweater today I was knitting for my friend to give for Christmas, It turned out well (but I forgot to take a photo of it :sorry: ).

Hope your day has treated you well :)

I had something similar and it turned out to be caused by Sodium Lauryl Sulphate which is in absolutely everything. My dentist diagnosed it. Initially it only caused lichen planus in my mouth. Dentist advised switching to Weleda toothpaste. Lichen Planus cured.

A year later l started getting itchy skin so experimented with cutting out SLS. It worked. no more iching. Started back on it - itching and rashes came back. Thank goodness for Weleda and Ecover products.

We are all different and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate may not be your problem - but it might be worth checking if it is or not.

Thanks for this info, I will check out all my household bits and pieces. I’ve been gradually changing cleaning productd, shower, bath, shampoo etc to Faith in Nature or other refillable zero waste products. They need to be safe for a septic tank but other than that I haven’t checked ingredients at all. It’s interesting ( and irritating) that this sort of reaction can just pop up out of nowhere. I’m on the lookout for Weleda and Ecover now.

Oh brilliant! Another great tip thanks so much Krystyna. I’ll look out for it.

Edit to add I’ve just ordered some from Amazon. I wonder if it’ll stop him chewing the Christmas presents? We are going to my daughter’s this year and there will be 4 children so a lot of presents and rustling paper - impossible for a little pup to resist.

Update on the stressful situation at my building --
This morning I left a voicemail message for the Minister to Seniors at the local church affiliated with this apartment building, telling him briefly about my concerns.
A couple of hours later I got a call from the director here telling me not to worry about the KittenCat, that I will be given several days' notice when work will be done in my apartment, and to let her know when I receive the notice, as she will take care of my cat and me.
About 5 minutes after this conversation the Minister to Seniors called me "just to get back to me about my voicemail message." I have a sneaking suspicion that he got my message, called the director here and talked with her, and that that is why she FINALLY called me. ;)
She has not proved herself reliable in the past but I have logged our conversation, an outside "authority" figure knows about it, and thankfully the KittenCat knows nothing about it all and is right now purring and making biscuits on my lap.
And I am utterly exhausted.
Thank you all for your kindness and support and feedback with my venting and worries.

You are doing really well @SaskiaKC
It is tiring hard work, but you are getting somewhere. You've been brilliant with this.
The roast beef sounds good!
Have a rest with KittenCat now and a cuppa.
Take care

Good morning/evening folks, a straight 6.0 on the dice today and pretty much shook off the lurgy. Wednesday already, the week is galloping on, I don't think I have ever wished a week to go by quickly as much as this one, I'm so looking forward to some time with all the family around, the Two little grandkids are both three and are filled with wide eyed wonder at all the Christmassy stuff but without the want want want that comes later.
All on team Saskia here (not forgetting KC) rooting for you kiddo.
Have a lovely day all.

Morning...woke up earlier stretched out thinking I'd had a great sleep...switched on the light it was 2am...straight back to bed...off to Wood Green for 9am Charlie & Lola's third injection then that's it for another year...I hear ya @DJC3 with the Christmas presents & Dennis already had to do my 'No we don't do that naughty' as Lola hauled herself up to the presents twice now...London & our office later to drop off the tarts/cakes then will meet my niece & her daughter for a spot of supper before heading home...Olivia next door is kitten sitting she is so excited to be in charge of them...a couple of days ago she tidied their room all their toys were in a straight line...their food bowls were lined up all their blankets were folded neatly...needless to say that didn't last long...woke to a 6.5

Good Morning and a 6.3 for me, expected lower as at midnight it was 5 but there you go.

@HarryBeau must be something in the air, I woke at 3am and like you thought I had slept well, it was not until I got down stairs I realised how early it was so went straight back to bed.

More care home searching today for MIL whilst there are lots around it is narrowed down by the End Of Life requirement and the terrible ratings, official reviews not users reviews, a nightmare. Mind you MIL will probably not have to worry, although she is on busy hospital ward she is convinced she is at her Aunt Enid's and its lovely, you have to find a little humour in this tragic disease.

May today treat you all as you would wish to be.

I was slightly more fortunate than you MC I realised as soon as I switched the upstairs light on...so got back to bed immediately...good luck with the search for MIL's residential place it's never easy but I agree we have to find some humour in the most unexpected circumstances at times.

Fbg 5.4 @ 4.50 ish. @Krystyna23040 good news about the eye treatment going well and useful information about allergies and anti-chewing spray for when we move and get more dogs - thanks; @trick60 the wide eyed amazement of your grandchildren is a gift you richly deserve - hug them and The Urchin tight and enjoy; @Muddy Cyclist I hope the Nursing Home search is not too harrowing for you - our brief experience of them was very positive and one of the better memories I have of that period. @dunelm you can have your chimp back now. Spent yesterday pondering on O Sapientia (especially prudence) and promptly bought a cheese curler then spent the evening looking for Sashimi fish and knives - The Fish Society tell me they helpfully saved my basket! - we all know how this will end. @SaskiaKC really positive news and as Trick said Team Saskia all rooting for you. Ero Cras indeed!

And did the ‘no we don’t do that, naughty’ work? Or were you studiously ignored like I am? Dennis has a great ‘hurt innocence’ expression. I bet Olivia can’t wait to be in charge.
Hope the traffic is kind.

6.2 this morning and I blame the baked camembert I took a fancy too. Yesterdays 'day to myself' sank shortly after I announced it having hit the iceberg that is Her Ladyship. Today is much the same, although expected this time. I am becoming more convinced of the idea that I am already dead and this is Purgatory ;)

DJC you know it didn't work but it made me feel I am doing my best to bring them up right:D:D..interestingly they don't have to do any look yet...they are so cute just a glance at me & it makes me smile...I suspect the hurt look may come later once they've matured & have less of an excuse...I believe Olivia can't wait for her stint of duty later she's been in most days to see them...they are loving it...she is so excited as she gets to feed them later...she's almost ten & her mum will be right behind her but id she interferes there'll be hell to pay...okay off for the injections now I' not looking.
