An online shopping delivery tomorrow Krystyna anti-bacterial wipes included even managed to find toilet paper...not sharing that with many just in case the driver is at risk should it be know what his precious cargo is...I am staying indoors & only venturing out if I have to...a quick trip to the bank then straight home it's worrying to have to think in those terms but we have to.
I was so relieved that my anti viral wipes arrived and didn't go astray. But even with the wipes will definitely have to think about cancelling classes if this gets worse here so that I keep clients safe.

Not sure about the invisible friend, don't think I want something I cant see walking beside unless it was an Angel but the rest I will go along with. Except of course they need to be friendly Klingons. Is that ok? Am I still in the gang?

Definitely a good idea to postpone your holiday to September. Hopefully everything will be back to normal by then.

Can understand why son is gutted about his trip to Madrid. Youngest daughter is concerned about their trip to LA and Disneyworld that they were so looking forward to. They fly out in a couple of weeks.

I agree the medics that are dealing with this virus are true heroes -:it is a nightmare situation when the virus cases soar.

And a ban now for 30 days, gutted for your daughter! Its surreal.

It makes good sense to be extra cautious ...I have to go to the office at some point today or tomorrow...it will be a quick trip I'll be taking my anti-bacterial wipes & when I see clients in a custody suite they'll be coming with me...I have no idea how I'm supposed to keep thirty yards away from a client in custody but we have to do the best we can.

@Debandez sorry about the lost holidays for all of you. Having sons myself I can well understand your son’s disappointment esp over the football. I think disrupted travel is going to snowball over the next couple of weeks. Keep you and yours safe, thats all that matters.

It really is. Hopefully the procedures being put into place will stop the virus in its tracks PM

6.3 this morning but I did sleep in until 0800 ;)

Today is my last visit the shops day for a while, been stocking up and will have 8 weeks of supplies in by the end of the day. Meat freezer is full and canned in abundance, I even froze some crumpets just in case :)

For myself, I've increased my Vit C alongside zinc, magnesium, Vit D, B12, and potassium. At least I can argue I tried. Unfortunately, her ladyship is a pandemic denier so I am still expected to carry out her duties which means sharing space with her after she has been surrounded by folk.

Stay safe :)

Morning All. 4.7 at 0600...what? Retested 5.1. Stopped there.
@DJC3 amazing score today. Thats such a lovely idea but just be careful yourself. I cant quite figure out if all Diabetics will be hit badly or if good control matters. Some of the heartbreaking posts from doctors in Italy suggested when they had to decide who to prioritise for limited ventilators over 80s and younger folk with Diabetes were excluded. I see Tom Hanks has CV but he looks like someone who manages his T2 so it so I will be watching how he gets on.
Have a great Thursday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Wonderful score for you too PM! So happy your numbers have come down - the omelette effect?
I’d forgotten Tom Hanks is T2D so yes it’ll be interesting to see how he fares.

Good morning pop pickers from another bright and cheery morning in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of marinated bavette pan fried with bone marrow came in at cool 4.5 this am.

Budget yesterday - did you watch it? Did you win? Are you bovvered?
Completely unsupervised today, Mrs Miggins has gone over to open up the little house on the prairie after the winter close down. I will be trundling into town wearing my coronavirus protective motorcycle gear, all ready and sprayed with WD40.
Mind you, no reported incidents in this location according to this: https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-how-many-cases-are-in-your-local-authority-11953077.

Trips abroad are on our minds at present. Due to travel to France in April visiting parents, Berlin and then onwards to Poland in June for a family wedding and then USA in September to visit a sister- will see closer to to each date I suppose.

Have as wonderful a day as you can. The call of the koffy is strong within me.

All I can say is, it's too bad Sears, Roebuck & Co. no longer publishes their big thick catalogues. I don't know how much American history y'all have been exposed to (sorry about the pun :angelic:) ...
I only lived in Canada for a year but remember fondly the Sears catalogue, we lived up in the Canadian Rockies in a one horse town, so that was our go to if we needed clothes. Whiled away many an hour looking through it but thankfully never had to utilize it in other ways, pages if I remember rightly were a bit too shiny. I wont admit to having to utilize newspaper at times as a child when the toilet paper had run out, but I do know the disadvantage to this was the carbon used to come of on your bum.

Yes thank you she seems to be on the mend...no doubt there will be many who need support with the daily tasks shopping collecting medications etc is essential what a good idea I hope there's lots of support for your proposal.

Apparently there is a case in our village but I don’t know who they are, it’s bound to get a bit more prevalent and as I have to go out with Den every day I figure I might as well do something useful running errands for folk.

QUOTE="ianpspurs, post: 2230990, member: 193971"]@PenguinMum and @DJC3 great fbgs ladies - good on you. My earlier post was too long but boils down to context of meals hugely important. Unwin articles emphasise green veg but some recipes much higher carb than quite a few here have for a whole day. His protein portions seem far too low to me. Longevity of a lifestyle is the key because even remission levels mean we are still diabetic given the wrong lifestyle. Very N=1 how we do this and approaching 5 years in lots of niggles in my journey but so far all A1cs non diabetic.
Thanks Ian. I for one will not be giving up green veg, I eat brocolli almost every day only mixing it up with tenderstem. I am a real brocolli head :lurking:[/QUOTE]

I think I eat more green veg now than I ever did before! A lot of broccoli like you, in many different ways, boiled, riced, roast ( I love the stalks roasted) and an awful lot of spinach which I never really ate before.

So many in our area the most prominent being Nadine Dorries plus the constituents she saw at her surgery...we're not in Bedford around forty minutes away but ever increasing amount of covid-19 diagnoses in the county...taking every precaution I can.

Very wise. I heard on the news yesterday about her, she has her elderly mother staying with her too doesn’t she?

So agree on all the efforts, protecting you AND others by simply trying to stay well..
Not all heroes wear capes, and IF we all do our bit.......

Not sure we shouldn't be rounding up the deniers, popping them in a stadium* for 14 days
or a freebie to Italy and let them cough over each other while the rest of us get on with flattening the surge in cases...can't see why most Won't jump at the chance of a FREE Italian Holiday over a stadium staycation,
it's just those Italians over reacting, and after all "It's JUST Flu"..:hilarious::hilarious:

Along with the anti-vaxxers ;)

There is a sober truth we do need to accept though. A virus cannot be beaten, sooner or later we will get it, hopefully, it's a ways off. This virus, just like its predecessors will become part of our contagion cycle and we do have to build herd immunity to it. Sadly, that means Darwin wins out and the strong survive until we come up with a vaccine that can artificially create that herd immunity within us. Smallpox, polio and the like, were not 'beaten', we just developed a vaccine to increase the speed at which humanity would gain herd immunity.

I know it's a hard pill to swallow but we do need to stop the pretence that cleanliness will stop the virus when all it actually does is delay it from our immediate zone. Again, it doesn't mean that you should not practise hygiene, all I'm saying is that we also need to understand how a virus differs from a bacteria.

Have a read...
