What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Yes we know ours will not happen but have not heard from the cottage owner, we have been every May for 10 years as a family. Son not paid balance, he buys it for all the family as a birthday/Christmas present, so not sure he will get deposit back. Seems like dad, me, will be having to make a charming, diplomatic phone call to owner on sons behalf. Son would go at it like a sledge hammer, must be a farrier thing all that hammering, loose deposit and we will never be able to darken their doorstep again. I will get a deal.
I am now looking at what Brittany Ferries will do. We have a sailing on 27th April but they are only cancelling until 22nd. Will have to wait and see if that gets extended. They say at present that we can change the booking but not sure if we really want to do that.

The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled.
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven --
All's right with the world!

Emailing a friend in New York last night they are so grateful to have him...lucky to have strong confident intelligent leadership...Trump seems more deranged than ever I'm not sure I can watch anymore of his pronouncements he is scary.

Mr Fuzz is back. He chased Mrs Fuzz around the garden Benny Hill style all yesterday afternoon and had us in stitches. Atm he is more focused on his ardour than eating seed.
OOh if it weren't for the lock down we'd invite him over here...doubt the kittens would worry him but not so sure about 'Plumpy' though

Good morning all from the quietness of the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of strange days and staying at home came in at a fair to middling 4.3 this am.

Stayed at home yesterday and will be doing so now unless I need to forage for wine and other essentials.
The garden is looking spruce after supervising Mrs Miggins from the safety of the summer house.
I have now set up a gym in the conservatory; road bike on a back wheel conversion kit, resistance bands, kettle bells, weights and exercise mat - probably will only visit it once.
Hope everyone is well and not going insane just yet. I had my insanity melt down quite a long time ago and do my mind altering mantra, curtesy of a wonderful CBT psych, as and when - you have to escape into the realms of reality some times - Make it so Spock.

Here is my favorite version of “From A Distance”, words included for @gennepher
Have a great day if you can, don’t forget to wear your hoola hoop if you venure outdoors.

Koffy calls

Beautiful, brought tears to my eyes....

Morning...been busy on twitter we're all waiting to see what Rishi Sunak proposes for the self employed...very suspicious he has chosen to announce his plans the day after Parliaments recess which of course means that cannot be questioned directly... thermometer delivery went well yesterday two dropped another four due today...all wiped with anti-bacterial wipes disposable gloves on placed in plastic bag popped through the letter boxes no issues...woke to a 6.4 temperature 35.65...keep safe.

I am late posting this morning. I decided to make one final trip to the shop. And to the post office to get a whole pile of stamps. so that if I don't really want to go into the shops after this, I can at least go down to a post box and post any letters and postcards I have.

The post office lady had got in some Welsh stamps for me which was very nice of her so I brought all of those she had in.

It came to 40 quid.

Social distancing with taped out distances in this food shop I went in. Great I thought, brilliant, until customers coming in push past me or push me aside to get the very thing I was reaching for. One guy was an enormous heffalump with his trousers sprawling halfway down his massive bum cheeks and he didn't give a s*** about anybody. And he used his body weight to push me aside.

I did not react, I didn't even look at him because that would have probably been more body contact.

I then did the rest of my shopping and I only picked one or two items instead of the three I could have done, because I want to leave things for other people even though I'm trying to do a shop to make me last as long as possible.

Anyway I got to the till and the till lady had seen what was happening. She said nothing but that don't mean that in a bad way her eyes just looked at me. Have you got everything you need she asked?

Yes, I said, I want to stay at home for as long as possible. Very wise the shop lady said. And then she said, you can take 3 of each item you know. I know I replied, but I want to leave some for others.

You have to think about yourself, she said, you want to come out as less as possible, and, she continues, I think there is a memo you are only going to be able to have two of any item. Would you like another two of the single items in your basket? Yes please, I said. And she went and got them for me.

And because it happened like that, I did not feel bad about it.

Then she wants me to disinfect all my shopping when I got home, and put the non perishables in a box for at least 3 days because the coronavirus can live on surfaces.

She doesn't know I have been doing all this for well over a month now. I thank her for advice.

I come home, disinfect all the shopping before I take it in the house. Then I disinfect my car...the steering wheel, drivers seat and all that area, door handle etc, and disinfect my walker.

Then disinfect the handle on my gate, and the kitchen door, then I strip off (outside) and then put all in the washing machine.

Then shower.

I am not going out for at least 4 weeks...

I am going out in garden now. Will read and catch up tonight.

Take care.
