What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I have tried many recipes for things with the word ‘bread’ in the title. I think that most (read 99.99r%) are at best, a waste of good eggs. At a push, I make a mug bread if I want to make a bacon or similar sandwich:

25g almond flour
A bit of olive oil - maybe a bare tablespoon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
Pinch salt

Stir it all together in a small microwavable bowl or a fat mug.
Microwave for 90 sec
Turn it out
Let it cool to slice in half or just eat hot with butter and whatever you fancy on it.
Thanks for that. This recipe is a variation on one which so nearly works for me - the original (Sarah Myhill) just has water and flaxseed. The swoon sisters include egg which IMHO doesn't really work in bread.

Amazing crust and I like the flavour but from the comments on youtube about 50% find the inside remains soggy. Time to try again with new ovens and a little time on my hands with no real garden. https://hemsleyandhemsley.com/recipe/flaxseed-buns/ - ignore the maple syrup. Very filling but heavy on the eggs now we don't have our own hens. Superb for transit issues, freeze well and toast really well - we make/made as a huge flatish tray tray full cut into 12 then halved

Oh dear watching Oliver Dowden taking a hammering from Piers Morgan of all people...odd how when bullies are put in the spotlight they have no corners to run to.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen are we all going to be good children today or are we going to be naughty, I shall be naughty and if I'm lucky Mrs J will slap my legs and if I'm really naughty she might get the whips out .

The benefits of late evening snacking are a 7.3 this morning.

Today I might just be nice to somebody, but being on lockdown the chances of meeting somebody are very slim.
Well who ever you are and where ever you are, remember big brother could just be watching over you, but throw caution to the wind and enjoy yourselves.
Just a thought alf - maybe less is more and some James Bay in your life may staunch the loss of people from this thread?

Morning everyone hope you are well and you enjoyed the weekend. Have started to feel a little under the weather, with what I don't know. No temperature and I haven't seen another person to interact with for 4 weeks (the food deliveries are placed just inside the gate and they retreat as per instructions) so I have no idea what it is, slept for 14hrs yesterday and my bloods are 5, so even doomy is taking pity on me. Anyway enough of my woes, is anyone else frustrated with the news coverage of this Pandemic and the negativity of it? Yes give Ministers a hard time and hold them to account, but if you don't allow them to answer the questions we just get reporters and presenters grandstanding and doing the old "Look at me telling the Minister". I suggest that all these reporters and others stepping in to say things that, to me, are not based in fact have a go at managing an unprecedented situation and get it right the first time. Yes there's mistakes being made and will continue to be made, but can we just not all pull together and do the "Backseat Driving" when we finally emerge from this?

Anyway sorry for the Rant but the news coverage is getting on my nerves. On better news my pallet furniture is nearing completion and we are going to hold a grand opening event by walking around the garden and finishing up sitting on it with drinks in hand (if we can get the twits off that is)

Take care everyone and stay safe. again apologies for the rant.

@HarryBeau and @Muddy Cyclist I am finding exactly the same thing. The days are racing by at an incredible speed.
I spend mine doing precisely what I want Krystyna...some Netflix some lounging but mostly answering emails & phone calls...amazing how much more we are all keeping in contact more & enjoying it...I'm off to have breakfast with those fat sausages & the mug bread...reviews will be available tomorrow morning.

Photos please john when it's ready I expect Trixie & Sid will make a beeline for it.
I can't get Trixie off it, even when I want to adjust something! But to be honest I'm glad that she likes it and I spend most of the time getting my tools back from Sid as he takes his Sidekick duties vert seriously! I will put pictures up once I've finished the dog day bed bit.

Made me laugh john I'd love to see the pictures I kind of minded to have a go at building myself...with a little assistance...it's all out war here this morning...these dangerous pets (kittens) are fighting an all out war neither will give in...a bit like watching the Saturday afternoon wrestling of many years ago.

Yes - I have been doing the same. It has been lovely to actually read fiction again.. Although classes are suspended we are all keeping in touch with emails, texts and phone calls. Lots and lots of them. I am at the moment emailing funny doggie videos to clients who love animals. They are hillarious. So perhapsnot really strange that the time is flying by.

How are you this morning after your injuries yesterday? Is Lola behaving - no more climbing expeditions hopefully.

Good Morning and another high 6.4

@jjraak thanks for the links, sad, uplifting, worrying and optimistic.

My annual Hay Fever is playing up, I hope. Just read on the BBC News advise to Hay Fever Sufferers, non the wiser.

More sunshine on a beautiful morning, take care.

Cheers fella.

I did see a post.. Is it hayfever or covid
I take it that's the one you looked at ?

Missus suffers, and at first we were a little concerned, each time she left house she came home with a sore throat.. But it happens each time and doesn't seem to last... Thank god.

Yes kittens turn into mini lions and tigers when they start playing, looks really funny until one decides to run up your leg! Had that in the past:)
