5.55am FBG 4.9 Body seems to think time to get up. Sure I can feel DP happening. Tried going back to bed, shopping dreams, and recipe adaptations running through my brain. Woke with a start ( just like you @Muddy Cyclist fifteen mins later, decided body had won, so got up. DP had kicked in, FBG 5.5... in 20 mins.
Cool and cloudy again so will attempt more of the dreaded hedge cutting, or at least that's the plan, on the list. We all know how effective the TO DO list is.

Stay/get well, stay safe all of you.
I often think I can feel DP kick in which case I try to guess what the bloods will be - and actually quite often I am very near the mark. Enjoy your hedge cutting, maybe.

Hedge cutting could perhaps be left for another time with a clear conscience: https://www.trees.org.uk/Help-Advice/Public/When-is-the-bird-nest-season. No longer an issue for me but I did always wait until farmers cut their hedges in the autumn after harvesting and ploughing, just before ditch clearance. I will miss those rhythms of the year - until we can travel to walk dogs. Maybe Thetford Forest will eventually compensate somehow.

Morning all. No strips for a few days now - Tee 2 (Spirit Health) sent them out 10 days ago allegedly..

I got my new test strips a couple of days ago, the fastest delivery I have ever received from Spirit Health. 3 days from ordering.

They are usually very fast. I am now on Suffolk time so they could come anytime this century and still be a priority delivery. In the Kingdom of Matt it is enough to have the capacity to deliver on time and probably boil wash and reuse strips. Not sure these folks are aware Good Queen Bess has gone and I fear the shock would be too upsetting.

I have been keeping Popeye indoors with the feral cats attacking and causing bad injuries to him. But he misses the outdoors. I did try his harness and lead, but the last time he did a double backwards somersault, used my chest as a springboard and escaped out of the harness...

So since then he has had to watch me in the garden from my bedroom....

This morning I went in the garage to get out the smaller of the two dog cages out. They were Meg's (my old hearing dog for the deaf) and the one I wanted was her travel cage.

So the first photo is Big Ted on my thatched swing, and this is where Popeye normally snuggles up to....

The second photo is the dog cage put up in that same place, but with Big Ted inside...

The third photo is Popeye after I took him by surprise and got him in the cage...

The fourth photo is him rearranging Big Ted

I hid his treats in the cage so he has been searching and eating them...

Now, I can take them outside with me in the nice weather when I am on the swing or in the garden. And he can still be by my side all the time like he always used to be.

One thing I do need, is a water bowl to attach to the side of the cage so he can take a drink of water when he needs to.

At 3 am his Lordship woke me up with his paw patting my face. So I swung my feet out of the bed into a humungous puddle just where I put my feet. I looked at his Lordship who looked back at me with wide open 'innocent' eyes...'well you didn't change my cat litter' his eyes said.

I said something different to him...

Was going to ask about nocturnal visitors, but Popeye has kind of scuppered that with his nocturnal emmisions.
Crafty to wake you up and announce it though.
So was it a quiet night in the garden? Or were all intruders scared off by blue language?

All is okay in the garden...chicken wire still working...or maybe the blue language...
He knows how to make a point...

That's interesting about the DP. That was quite a big jump in 20 minutes.
At least you have a TO DO list. Mine seems to have disappeared. It is somewhere in the heap of paper on my desk.
@Krystyna23040 curious as to which book kept you up until silly o'clock?
DP seems to manifest itself as a wave of heat. Ignored it this morning, and went back to bed. Should have known better by now, but it was before six am, which doesn't sound at all unreasonable a time to get up when reading @gennepher was up at 3am.
@Annb like the idea of cauliflower kedgeree. There are
some white fish fillets in the freezer. Bit tasteless so maybe this is a good way to serve them.
@Chook I think it's lovely that you had this time to preview of what retirement could be and you both enjoyed it. Has MrC got the back to work blues?

Good afternoon everyone from a mixed up day in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of a bat out of hell meatloaf last night came in at 4.6 this am

Very gloomy beginnings this morning, gloomy glooms of clouds, all squashed together in a silent grey mash awaiting the arrival of a Mervyn Peake monstrosity to appear in the chilled air. However, with the coaxing of a tin cup half full of bird seed, a smear of factor 50 sun screen and a large plastic duck call, the sun is now out doing what suns do best.

Have a wonderful remains of the day.

Belated good afternoon to you all, the meter of doom has bestowed, in triumph I may add, a 15.7 and I'm staying there. I've been feeling a bit under the weather with no explanation as to why. Zero contact with any other human for 4 weeks. But I'll just do the adjustments and see how it goes. Sidekick Sid decided that he needed to sit on the table yesterday and wouldn't move. But as they're my furry toddlers he can stay on it all day!!

Take care everyone and stay safe

You are so lucky to be on Suffolk time. It could be worse - you could be on Norfolk time. I ordered and paid for some stuff from Holland and Barrett on 6th April and it has just been despatched today.

What a good idea. How lovely that Popeye can still go outside with you in the safety of the cage.
