What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I HAD this career. Past tense. Nothing more to be said really. Thanks all but I need to be where people are not.
All I can say RFSM is that you need to stay around people that care and I reckon the guys around here are a good representation for a caring group.
The bad times will pass and bright skies will come again.
I have seen it all in 81 years.
May you find peace.
Best wishes
Derek

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are late posting on this national bin day.

A straight 6.0 this morning on that scheming meter.

Busy morning and a full task list this afternoon, that's my day sorted.
One of this afternoons tasks is trim Mrs J's hair, a task I loathe, but I have sharpened the lawn mower blades. I should have done this yesterday so I cannot delay this any longer.
Me and me's must remember to ask more provocative questions in future, I'm glad to see the protagonists parted amicably.
Note to @lindisfel I have not paid any attention to Boris the Beasts mask, I just hope he obtains sprouts for the sprout lovers amongst you.
After a busy morning it's time for a small amount of time travel on the sofa before Mrs J starts muttering.

Don't need a parting Alf - I'm follically challenged. If you lot want to use your hormones to grow hair,. I have been having more fun. Don't need Gump for sprouts in the independent kingdom of The Fens™ . Can't speak for Berks:angelic:

Well that was a long read, interesting, but long. My whoremoans are a thing of the past, one had to keep the customers satisfied.
When will you be claiming the vacant throne.
Berks is well named.

Edit Mrs J is muttering about cutting my hair and trimming my beard grrrrrr

Today's poem could well resonate with a few here. Obvious echoes in our seasons, possibly where the world generally is due to COVID, UK with the Brexit endgame and many of us in advancing years. Also links back to last week's poem The Moons by Grevel Lindop. Personally, I don't feel any wisdom dividend offsetting the palpable weakness but I suspect that is the point of all this reflection during Advent 2020. No selfless experiment on your behalf today - 3.16 is too early.

Good morning everyone from a sky of brightness and hope here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of three egg omelette and some freshly baked low carb bread came in at 5.2 this am

Phew - what a catch up - greedy cats abound and somebody threw the holy hand grenade of Antioch - Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.
@gennepher - thanks for the feedback about mist and for a majestic, broiling, crashing set of waves.
@Muddy Cyclist - thank you for your kind comments - old man looks very approachable. More old father time than any boatman. Purple sounds royally good.
@geefull - thank’s for your feedback. Smashing little sketch and another one of you good landscapes with a well crafted sky.
@karen8967 - good readings there, happy days.
@RFSMarch - sorry to read about the no-go on the demo after all your efforts, take care.
@ianpspurs - thank you for yet another well found poem.

Bin day today and somehow the over eager recycling bin was found edging towards the pavement and had to be put on the naughty step. Plumbing went as bad as I expected - took out the flow cartridge and the ceramic discs fell out, leaving the end firmly jammed into the shower bar - good fault finding though. No replacement part for that particular model until time travel has been sorted so shower outlets now blanked off until another suitable replacement is sourced - blast! Another line of manufacturing built to fail after only a few years - whatever happened to just replacing the odd washer. I blame the demise of Yorkshire joints.

Painting today on rice paper with a very light yellow ochre wash. Hope everyone has a good Mitwoch - for anyone feeling the black dog of depression bearing down - talk, don’t leave it. Koffy and then phone Boris about orders for sprouts.

Oh I don't know dunelm, where they can't be seen, compression fittings with the liberal use of ptfe tape, save setting the house on fire!
What is more, if you keep changing your mind, like I do, it is an easy job.

There always a place for village idiots but their not supposed to be running countries!
I'm still wondering what food additive, vaccination or unseen alien invasion convinced people that a choice between Corbyn and Gump or Hilary and Trump could ever end well. Surely we must have hit rock bottom.? I'm a celebrity, make me your leader hasn't worked.

My walk up to the Green and back has led to a not so great outcome. Four hours later and my resting heart rate is still around 130. Waiting for doc to call me back after doing the 111 thing. BP is ok at 117/77 and SpO2 is 95 which is my usual. Very odd

Do you have paroxysmal Afib, A.A.?
It does seem a rather odd suite of parameters and perhaps you feel palpitations?
Low potassium can be a problem.
Hope it soon settles and doc rings back.

Hi Ian,
I am afraid we are seeing the rise in right wing nationalism (again)
Just be happy the Yanks have turfed out an idiot. Hopefully the Conservatives will find a moderate when they realise the masses dont appreciate that being a world beating power, does not clothe the kids or fill bellies.

No, not that I know, I had an echo scan last year and along with ecg everything was fine, but something could have manifested in the intervening period.

It is an odd combo, I did take my potassium and magnesium a couple of hours back. Apart from the high rate and vagueness I feel ok.

Shall await his call

Just had a big hint, not to put the depressing news on again.

The duchess has just put on a gentleman jim cd, it brings back very happy memories of 60 years ago.

That's a symptom rather than a cause IMHO. The big issue is diagnosing the condition and treating it correctly. We are running a system which was wrong in the 1970s when it was developed so unsurprising it is a shambles now. RW populism is displacement activity/denial. @Alien Aspie I hope that h/r settles and/or Doc call back is useful.

I hope all is okay @Alien Aspie
And that it is sorted soon.

good afternoon all :)

4.4 this morning

shopping day again already ;) the bin men have been, the green bin is back in it's accustomed space and silence reigns outside.
We have received an invitation to an over 60's socially distanced Christmas dinner next week, I think it's in the village hall, my brain has conjured a mental picture of an old school exam session ;) happy to get an invite though :D

Hope your day treats you as kindly as you could wish

@RFSMarch - sending a hug, remember we're here if we can help.

@JFWinstone - hope they get back to you soon.

@Muddy Cyclist - I like your 'time' character, rather more quizzical than scary, I thought his wand was the sun, that makes good metaphorical sense and I do like the idea of his robe being tattered by his passage across the earth :)

@gennepher - thank you for the compliment and what wonderful crashing waves you have made :joyful: I love the idea of painting waves but they are not easy :sorry:

@SlimLizzy - you could also try checking the computer's USB port if the mouse has a dongle, I had an intermittent fault on one of my ports recently :sorry:

@dunelm - a hug for the plumbing problem.
I love the landscape it has such a lovely sense of space in it :)

@Alien Aspie - hope your HR settles and the doc gets back to you soon

art bit - a pen and watercolour drawing of some hellebores

You must elucidate, Ian, for the poorly educated non historian.
I think the effect matters, whether it be a long or short road, nationalism has done some dire deeds, in its march to Nuremberg(s.
