7.00am FBG 5.7 am astonished after yesterday's indulgences.

Really hungry at lunch time, decided to have two slices of toast, got it cooked, then thought better do BG. Eek it's 6.4. Why is that? Had almost zero carbs today. Slightly stressed though, out of gas AGAIN. Got lost in the country lanes on the way back as well. Would that push BG up?

Errant came back home soaked and filthy yesterday afternoon, no idea where he had been but he had black stuff all over his paws, legs, and chest. Thought it was motor oil, but seemed to be more akin to coal dust or charcoal. Anyway, wrapped him up in the pink towel, which he seemed quite happy with, then spent considerable time cleaning off the worst with a damp micrfibre cloth. Was amazed at his patience and apparent enjoyment of this treatment. He is not usually keen on me touching his feet.

LOVE it.

Errant really settling in.

It seems some members have had dreadful days, some great days and others ordinary everyday days.
good evening all :)

4.8 this morning

We went out for lunch but no volunteering run for us today because the charity depot is closed. The long awaited new drainage and tarmacing of their car park, which was supposed to be finished yesterday, has hit a humungous snag. The tarmac was already finished across half the car park when they had very heavy rain at the beginning of the week and discovered the newly laid land drainage didn't work at all :(
the contractors dug a test pit and discovered that when the industrial gates were put up at the site (dating to before the occupancy of the charity), they had put one of the gateposts through the main land drain, it's bedded in concrete, the contractor reckons about 12-14 foot run of drain is blocked. They've ended up having to rip up some of the new tarmac and part of the street and road surface outside. Glad it's not my drains ;)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@Muddy Cyclist - hope your headache improves swiftly, I must say your new flooring is gorgeous, you must be so glad it's finished :joyful:

@dunelm - if the christmas meal is fancy dress mr gee says he's going as a grumpy old f*rt ;)
really like today's scene, the human interest adds scale and the 'backwashing' has really worked for you :)

@Alien Aspie - glad the HR has settled, hope the pain isn't anything too serious :sorry:

@gennepher - that's a lovely picture and I like the subtle tree silhouette in the foreground, it has worked very well :)

@ianpspurs
looks like we have more cases but our 'per 100k' rate is lower :sorry:

art bit -

inspired by the work of an artist called Michal Jasiewicz, I like the way he handles backlighting.

Headache better thank you. Yes very pleased with the floor, still a bit of house sorting to do but will all be straight Friday. All we need now is visitors to be allowed. :(

What a lovely painting, I do like that light and colour amazing and very well painted.

Regarding your Christmas lunch I love dressing up so can I come instead of Mt Gee, I can either come as Slasher in my Mummer costume or as a Georgian gentleman. :)

Tonight's poem (in before the football) In drear nighted December by John Keats. I like Keats, I understand about trees in winter. I miss pruning apple trees in December and stacking 4 tons of logs. Malcolm Guite's analysis ties in to Advent in an overtly Christian way but the secular ideas here work well. @geefull very apt piece for the poem.
John Keats one of my favourites. Tonight I turned to Thomas Hardy and came across his Wessex Tales, started with The Three Strangers, amused as in the first few pages a Serpent Musical Instrument was mentioned, I play one on occasions in the West Gallery Quire, strange instrument. A good glass of Remey Martini Brandy, fine champagne of course helped with Thomas Hardy.

Whatever you do, don't read, Jude the Obscure! I think it depressed me for three months.:)

Today I finally got my phone to scan QR codes. Mr K pointed out that I should have been scanning QR codes with the phones camera not its screen. I can't believe l hadn't realised that.

I walked through Wymondham in Norfolk dressed so, we were at a music workshop, I stopped a lot of cars and had some strange looks. I have some fun with passer byes askeing "Excuse me sir/madam can you tell me which year of the Lord this is?" And when they respond I reply "Goodness it worked!" :)

Okay, I should be doing paperwork to take out by today. I procrastinated yesterday, by doing a painting, so never got it done. Cat left me alone this morning for his favourite hobby of radiator hugging. So I decided on a painting. I am writing out some postcards for my postcrossing activities, and I don't want to send some of them off. I want to keep them!

So this one was of Pontcysylite Aqueduct Llangollen, and the original postcard I used for inspiration, is going to Russia.

It's taken me an hour and a half. I got too engrossed again.

It is in Procreate. And I was experimenting with a couple new brush strokes. And like I said a few days or week ago, you can put a piece of thick card on the screen to get a relatively straight line. Hence the aqueduct is not on shaky wobbly legs, which it would have been otherwise.

I must go and complete my paper work. Will peek in later.

Enjoy life. Have a good day.

Edit: Forgot to post my painting. Losing my head here...

A real feel of an oil or acrylic painting and it feels flood lit, I like the strong swirling greens.

5.2 this morning. Off to the vet this morning so he can check on Archie's paw. Hopefully no more treatment needed as it looks OK at the moment.

It is absolutely pouring down here. Really really wet.

Morning...finally a decent nights sleep a whole seven hours what a luxury...just wrestled the children's Peppa Pig Sweat shirts & pyjamas into some kind of parcel to be posted this morning (a week later than planned) ...Charlie & Lola both at the vets this morning for booster shots flea & worm treatments after paying the bill likely we'll be having a tin of corned beef for Christmas dinner...plus there's also the extra basket I had to buy as there's no way they'll both fit into one...worked very early yesterday it tired me out the whole day hoping to get more done today...no FBG still on the Lemsip Max which we know is full of sugar so pointless...keep safe everyone.

5.7 this morning, had a late night but all is good ;)

A major event in the world of gaming this week so I am unavailable to the world as gamers everywhere finally get to take part in Cyberpunk 2077. We've waited more than 7 years for this and, so far, it is not disappointing.

Enjoy the day :)
