What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

15.04.
7.40am FBG 5.2
MrSlim walked to garage and fetched post operative car, little gentle physio called for so i took it shopping, then he took it to the tip. Ah, little car we have missed you.
One Apple tree is in full blossom and showering us with petals. Somehow still have not managed to plant any more seeds. Feeling very-under-the-weather despite the sunshine.
Trying to find summer clothes has led to total chaos in the bedroom. While opening the windows has only allowed the pungent country aromas and the flies in...
If only I could stop eating so much am sure I would feel better.
Just realised plan to look for new cat next month is not practical as we have long term houseguest with cat allergy.
Oh what joy to get your car back. Snacking - wear boxing gloves. Alternate idea is preparing sticks of celery smothered in cream cheese and a bit of paprika or chilli flakes and then some with rilettes - I have also discovered ‘Nduja - bliss dharlinks.

gennepher's cat diner was very active yesterday...
Shadow was very inquisitive yesterday. She explored my potting shed in all the nooks and crannies, and came out with cobwebs stuck to her.
I went back in to my bungalow for a cup of tea, and as I left the kitchen I was nearly bowled over by a cat charging through my living room and hallway into the kitchen. She sat on the kitchen floor looking at me demurely.
'Food', her eyes said...

Creative today - another illustration from my life story for the grandchildren. As a child, I was terrified of the stuffed stag's heads with massive antlers either side of every doorway.

Will we get sun today?

Very grey, dark and cloudy out there...

Shadow is out there feeding...

Time for a hot mug of tea.

And a kaleidoscope from it for @ianpspurs

Ah, the cat is being lured in by habitual feasts of goodies. I like these illustrations. An excellent medium for story telling.

Good morning everyone on a bit of a dull start here in the dark and dangerous north but there is some faint rumour of sunshine and laughter later in the day. Out for “happy hour” yesterday, children decided to dress as fashion starts (whatever those are) and we promenaded down to the restaurant for a 5.30pm start. 14 of us round the table - lots of seat swapping and ‘try my chicken’, ‘try my fish’. Today is Easter egg hunt basket making after breakfast - we have a template in mind and enough decorating material to decorate Buckingham Palace and the Forth Bridge.
Art bit - dark splurges, some plants and a boat. Have a great day if you can. Time here for some koffy.

5.4 this morning. Off to Salthouse for lunch at the Dun Cow. Maybe also going to Sheringham or/and Blickling

@gennepher Really nice to read that Shadow is definitely getting braver.

Day sorted. Walk on heath above Salthouse. Lunch at the Dun Cow. Stroll around Sheringham, popping into gift shops etc. (although Mr K not so keen on this part of the day) then a stroll around the blue bell wood at Blickling.

Easter Eve greetings one and all from a bright but cool Breckland. My fbg remains unknown but my sheer bafflement over the management thereof is undiminished. Where to start with praise and thanks? @gennepher thank you so much for the 3 creatives including not one but two kaleidoscopes - my cup runneth over but I'll mop up later. @dunelm thanks for the art, insight into a magical family meal and preparations for the Easter Egg Hunt. JKP's plans for something similar have fallen foul of a virulent bug being passed around our family so it is rescheduled for next weekend. @Jojo85 great fbg and such love from your mum in preparing keto food. Enjoy the prep and time together. @Krystyna23040 I'm so glad the seal trip was a success. We like Salthouse and that pub has always looked packed but we've never ventured in. The menu looks wonderful so I can see why it is so popular. You should have an amazing day (gift shops excepted) and wonderful meal. Thank you for nudging me to check the menu. My plan for today is to stay safe, pray, read some poetry, be moderately useful, watch some sport and somehow assemble LC food that vaguely works. There are numerous far worse ways to spend time, IMHO.

Morning from a sun baked capital.:)

Firstly best wishes it's mild and all recover swiftly @ianpspurs
Enjoy your day.

And @SlimLizzy ..how on earth did I not spot the lack of errant being mentioned ...either the knock to my head has given me selective amnesia or I had unforgivably missed the sad news.
RiP little friend.
A wonderful time you gave him, once he trusted enough to come under your wing xxx

An unrelenting run of 7 on the blood speedometer .

More a mix of meds & prescribed foods
Then any real mystery.

Onwards & upwards goes the fight .

A few days so a small recap..

Had a few dark days past few weeks

A hospital trip picked me up.

And the last two days have brightened things up immensely

As painful knee stopped any birthday shenanigans.

But our Steph insisted we should do 'something'

Wednesday, after a few days rest knee felt ok to walk on.

Local cafe, sunny day & seats outside was our destination.

Barely 3 blocks away, but still slow going
Did manage to walk unaided for 2 blocks which was my lot, but it did look like an improvement over my regular circuit times, etc

A late breakfast , one full English one less so full.
Delicious & a decent tea, to boot :)

Nearest pub a similar distance again, so we agree to head there for a birthday pint.

Sat, chatted & enjoyed the moment .

I even managed the few stairs to the toilet
A tad ski like, shifting weight side to side, a spectacle ?...maybe, but effective
Return trip, more step by step, but it didn't matter..I now know why climbers climb mountains, the RUSH after is wonderful :)

Had asked one nephew not working, to meet up but he had plans , other nephew working, but I left a message anyway .

We'd just left pub when he called, "gasping for a beer, love to meet up, but if you've left,...."

A quick U-turn and we're back for a few more :headphone:

A good trip to hospital next day, yesterday's missing nephew accompanied.

Visit rewarding.
Marred by being unable to pay for parking .
All apps for parking down here
Parking app insists on checking with bank
Bank says fine
Back to parking app....restarts process !!!.

Repeated several times ..:banghead::banghead::banghead:
Abandon attempts ..leave car to its fate :arghh:

Meet physio..return 40 mins later

.....NO TICKET ...:D

Back to cafe & pub, a repeat of previous day.
But just me & him, shooting the breeze

Great day & night both times

Hard to underestimate the feel good factor after recent weeks & months.

The small pleasure of being a part of a social outing, I felt life had excluded me from for a while....so good for my mental health.

A busy few days for me, and a busy weekend for others, so I'm resting up while others take their turn

House quiet & peaceful.
Lauren out at cousins, Steph with friends
And all's ok in our little world :)

Love & peace ☮️

Thank you for the good wishes and kind words. So glad to hear those forays to the cafe and pub, whilst tiring, maybe a little humbling and painful at times, did wonders for your mental health. And all's ok in our little world :) Obviously not the full extent of human ambition but definitely the foundation. Long may that scenario continue.

Cheers for that reply

Grateful for small mercies.
And the last few months has made me a little more humble
Very easy to be happy with my lot.
When looking back to where I was.

More to come, but for now.....contented. :)

Enjoy the day.

Feeling lot better this morning. Our houseguests and I have been out in the garden and planted carrots, onions, radish and lettuce. Now need to get clean as we all have invitation for lunch

All sounds good @jjraak especially NO TICKET!
Peace and Goodwill!

@jjraak Errant was shot at the beginning of the hunting season 25th sept last year and died on 27th Oct. You may have been in hospital at the time. I am still grieving for him, but now open to considering another cat, which might possibly be as good for my mental health as your recent outings were for yours.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. A little sunny here in Tilehurst Towers, yippee.

Blood sugars were 4.5 this morning, the same as yesterday, but today I took more notice of what I was doing.
Thank you for all the best wishes yesterday and I can confirm that their were no ill effects.
Was up an about early this Morening, tea and koffy drinking, plinky plonky 45mins, then domesticity took over or more doing what Mrs J told me to do.
Must go, it’s time for my early afternoon nap.
Stay safe all. zzzzzz
