Thunderstorm last night, dry at first with frequent power surges causing blackouts. I had to shower by candlelight. Good thing our shower is gravity fed and the hot water comes from a tank. Storm passed over, but it rained a little in the night, not a lot of rain, only two hundred litres added to the water cube which collects from the roof.
MrSlim has been working himself to exhaustion every day since we got back. He doesn't do so well in hot weather. Today he is planning to start the next major task. Pointing the end wall. He has borrowed an additional scaffold from a neighbour because his tower is not tall enough. It's a huge job. Will take several weeks and need dry weather. Stressful for both of us. I worry about him working at height, plus I know he will start suffering with RSI after a short time but will carry on regardless.
We are suffering the usual seasonal influx of biting flies. While working on the scaffold, perhaps he will be out of range.

This was the best one from the small screen trail cam.

From this I did todays creative.

I don't know what went on in my garden last night, but I have serious clearing up to do...
Sigh.
I need a drink first...

Good morning everyone on a cereal crunchy start here in the dark and dangerous north. The ninky nonks are up at the table multi tasking; eating breakfast cereals and watching and commenting about birds in the garden. There are fairy houses in our woods so we had to go and visit some and knock at the doors - frustratingly they were all hiding behind their sofas in case it was the rent man. Helicopters were found on Sycamore trees, fungi in abundance on rotting logs and stumps to view but not touch and the odd blackberry. Lots of Cuckoo Pint (you might google why it is called that) - sometimes called Lords and Ladies and perhaps other things. Discussions about why we don’t pick the berries and why supermarkets and greengrocers are a better bet. Art bit, some more detailing to get a bit out texture. It’s bin day today so we will soon be out with the bunting ready to cheer - unless of course they have gone to Edinburgh and then we will have to call Queen Crankie and get the number for her private refuse gangs. Koffy first, best make koffy.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, Neanderthals and all who danced the light fandango. Happy national bin day.
.
Blood sugars this morning were a straight 6.0 if I were playing dice would I get another roll.
.
Busy old day here for me, me’s and myself, medical stuff, but firstly I must try and repair a clock that I am rather fond of, it came from a visit to Theakstons brewery many years ago on one of my trips up to the dark and dangerous norf. Wish me luck on the repair.
@gennepher I gave you a hug, but you also deserve a winner for your tale and video work, O how I want to change the spelling of tale too tail hehehehe.
.
Well fellow posters and painters I hope you are well, time moves on and I have things that need to be done, LFT for one, koffy another, stay safe.
Edit
Forgot it is national bin day thank you for the reminder @dunelm, my excuse is lack of koffy.

Hopefully the water cube will soon fill. All the best for MrSlim with that pointing and do caution him to take his time with this labour intensive task. An hour is a time enough session and probably a bit less if it’s hot. The thing with those scaffold towers is that they do need securing from top and bottom as they wobble a bit - ladders tied to scaffold - hope your electricity black out was only very temporary.

A bag of luck from the dark and dangerous north is winging it’s way to you for clock repairs - not Royal Mail unfortunately.

Fascinating stuff and I guess quite addictive. All the best with that clearing up and yes, a drink first.

Good you could have a shower with your set up.
Mr Slim needs to let up a little, no matter how urgent the work.
I have carried on regardless in the past, and this didn't help my old age problems.
He needs to take reasonable breaks to let his body restore.
But we humans have a habit of soldiering on regardless...

Hello everyone on Transfer Deadline Day, Eve of Bin day (some US familes failed to account for UK Bank Holiday) and remembrance of St Giles of Provence. Winchester Gang fed and watered x2 and we await the tyre fitter for the ancient RR - locking nut in prominent place as requested. Exciting day yesterday with grandchildren @dunelm and that art is progressing nicely IMHO. I'd take Queen Crankie in a heartbeat atm. @gennepher thanks for the creative and I hope the cleanup isn't too tiring. @alf_Josiah I hope both the clock repair and "medical Stuff" both go well. @SlimLizzy the hug is for the worry over Mr Slim. Lots of sound advice above. Wrap up well now it is Autumn and the weather rapidly turns into a Dementor’s kiss for me. As always, YMMV.

I have a problem.
Cooking breakfast.
And I have wet feet. I discover the sink u bend has disconnected from the downpipe.

Finishing breakfast first before I see what has happened...

Thank you @ianpspurs and I hope the gasp at the cost of the tyres is not too deep.
